I tried the crab cake, stuffed sole, stuffed mushrooms, and stuffed clams displayed in the window, and I have to say, everything was fantastic. The crab cake was perfectly golden on the outside, with a rich, tender interior full of fresh crab meat. It had just the right balance of seasoning, letting the natural sweetness of the crab shine through. The stuffed sole was a standout--delicately flaky fish wrapped around a flavorful stuffing that complemented it beautifully. It was moist, buttery, and cooked to perfection. The stuffed mushrooms were packed with a delicious, savory filling that had a great balance of herbs and texture. They had a nice bite while remaining juicy, making them a great side or even a main attraction. Finally, the stuffed clams were excellent. The stuffing had a wonderful mix of seafood flavors, breadcrumbs, and seasoning, with just the right amount of crispness on top. Each bite delivered a perfect blend of briny, rich, and satisfying flavors. Overall, everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. Highly recommend! read more

I visited Jose Fish Market last weekend and must revise my evaluation downward one star to three…read morestars. The service is still great at the counter and the value proposition is still there. However, something has happened to the rice. Let me first correct a few things from my previous review. The front awning does have the name of the restaurant on it. Jose Fish Market is not brightly painted or printed on the awning. Second, they have flounder instead of trout. The flounder is still a generous piece of fish for $11 for the platter with rice and peas. This time the rice and peas were not edible in my opinion. I do not know what happened, but something was very very off about the rice. I would rather have the fish alone and would be hesitant to have the rice ever again here. The chicken wings at $10 for four and fries is still a great value and the wings were crispy and great with the hot sauce, even the fries were good with hot sauce.

I've been here multiple times and I would like to share my experience from our last trip June 2026…read more I ordered 10 pieces of sashimi and the slices they brought out were like 3x the normal size of a regular size sashimi piece. I asked the waitress if this is normally the case and she said 'no'. I asked if they could be cut in half and they did. Unfortunately, I could not finish the sashimi bc it became like 30 pieces after being cut. I ate at least 20. When we were done, another waiter in his broken English told me I had to eat the sashimi. I had to explain why we couldn't finish it. They brought out abnormally large pieces. Then the manager got involved. Instead of apologizing she proceeded to teach us what sashimi slice should be like. And then joke about how she is losing money with the size of the pieces, and the telling us how she has multiple sushi chefs and they are out, and the one in the kitchen is new. It was just all unpleasant to hear the excuses. Just own up the situation. We were fine until you started ranting about random stuff and not taking ownership. I wish I took a photo of the salmon slabs they served us. Never going back because nothing worth going back for. The food is average. The service was terrible because they lack basic understanding in trouble shooting and customer communication.

Cuisine: 7 Service: 7…read moreDecor: 6 Value: 8 Overall: 7 I will admit that I am a sushi snob and rarely venture to lower quality local sushi shops for a meal. When I do, it's mostly ordering the cooked food rather than raw stuff. However, I was craving sashimi and sushi so bad that I decided to step into this restaurant one day last week. This is actually my second time here. First time being years ago when they first opened. Honestly, I still remember getting a few salmon/tuna hand rolls and was pleasantly surprised. Therefore, I may not have been expecting a blow my mind type of meal, but I certainly thought it would be fresh. Well, I was right, it was fresh. More importantly, it was overall quite tasty. It starts with the rice, which was warm and glutinous. I thought the house soy might have been overpowering, but it was a good sauce and unified all the flavors in the bowl. If you look at the picture of my ordering sheet, you can see that I ordered a ton of stuff. I paid extra for two more ptlroteins (eel & tamago), along with extra toppings (avocado and ikura). By rhe time I was done, my bowl was $29, but I felt it was a good deal. In the end, I know poke bowls will never be my first choice. However, what I learned is that I would definitely come back again when I'm desperate for some raw fish and rice.
