Came here for lunch with my fiancé this past weekend before a beach day. We walked in without reservations, but we were promptly seated with no problems. I very much enjoyed dining at their outdoor seating area. To start, we got the Manhattan Clam Chowder. I enjoyed how chunky it was, but it was served warm, not hot. Next, we got the blue crab dip. I'm not a huge fan of their potato chips here... They taste a little bitter and over-fried to me, but the dip was amazing. It has plenty of crab with balanced favors. The consistency was cheesy and smooth... Delicious! For the entree, I got the crab cake wrap. It was perfect... Not a thing, I would change. The bacon didn't overpower the burrito; the crab cakes remained the highlight of this wrap with creamy avocado to add some contrasting texture. Service was attentive, and we got our food in a timely fashion. Prices are on the higher side for a casual cafe, but they are reasonable. Overall, I plan to be back on my next LBI trip. read more

Went there with family for lunch last weekend. This place is very cute and cozy. Great decors and helpful staff. We ordered different things and they are all decent. My biggest complain was the food was waaaay too salty. Having the award winning Manhattan clam chowder was like drinking salt water. I had to keep drinking my glass of water and getting it refilled. The chips I had was crispy but again so much salt. The oyster po boy and fries was decent but again, with an unhealthy amount of salt. I really don't understand the underwhelming reviews for this restaurant, as we had a fabulous experience. There was a 30 minute wait when we arrived (table for 2) which was to be expected. It's nice that you can bring your own wine and they provide the wine chiller for you. I ordered the absolut seafood and my date ordered the crab cakes and lobster mash. Everything was phenomenal! Fresh crab, scallops, and huge prawns were packed into my dish.. So much that I had to share. The crab cakes were also delicious. Dessert: key lime pie.. Amazing. Go! Especially if you love seafood. We were down the shore for the weekend and heard that this place was good. There were 5 of us and when we were sat the waitress was serving us immediately. The whole wait staff was very attentive. For appetizer we ordered the clam chowder, lobster bisque and the lobster cappuccino! All were delicious. For dinner we ordered the special of crab ravioli, the meatloaf, vegetable panini, the po'boy and a lobster roll. I had the lobster roll and it was so good! Not runny, the perfect ratio of mayo and lobster. The crab ravioli was so delicious. Everything was great. Even down to the dessert, the peanut butter pie! Delicious! Arriving about 8pm, there was a wait to sit outside so we chose to go inside. Noise level was manageable. Tables close together, also manageable, any closer and it would not have been. Our server Jen was friendly and efficient. The crab nacho appetizer was good, the old bay sour cream is delicious and the nachos had a generous amount of crab which is not always the case. My older daughter had the harvest penne and ate the whole thing. My younger daughter chose the surf and turf burger which she thought had too much cheese. I had the Mediterranean salad which was quite large, enough for a lunch snack the next day. I appreciate the servers asking if we want straws and that the straws are paper. In an economy based on the environment, this is attention to detail that does not go unnoticed. Dinner for the three of us was $120 including tip. While typical of LBI pricing, it makes even a basic restaurant meal feel like a splurge. I understand that we are paying to support a seasonal business that only has 3 months to make a go of it. The Blue Water a great place to eat. No matter which dish you choose, it will become the gold standard by which you judge other meals. There is a casually elegant vibe that runs through the place. The wait staff is fresh faced and well informed. The inside is a little noisy but that adds to high end charm of the Blue Water. They've won the chowder fest so many times they've been asked not to enter so someone else can win. Every platter seems intuitively sized to give you just enough of a great thing. Home made desserts and gelato and deep roasted coffee bring the whole thing home. Probably a dozen meals there over eight years and each one was memorable. read more

The Eggs Stefano was as close to breakfast perfection that I have ever experienced. The eggs were perfectly poached and the combination of pork roll and bacon covered in cheddar cheese was fabulous. I love crispy breakfast potatoes and that is exactly the way they serve them at Blue Water Cafe. Add this perfect dish to a beautiful day sitting on the patio and it doesn't get much better. Can't wait to visit LBI again next summer just to get this dish again! FYI...If you are bringing the kids along they don't have a separate kids breakfast menu but you can get a short stack of pancakes (my son loved the chocolate chip cakes and one was plenty for him) and the Cinnamon Bun French Toast was right up my sweet tooth daughter's alley. My favorite restaurant with the most delicious food! I ordered the lobster filet that comes with 5 large chunks of lobster and a perfectly done filet mignon. The menu is full of great choices for dinner as well as lunch and breakfast. The price is a bit high but I'm sure it went to all the great COVID-safe precautions they have in place, and they make up for the price since they are BYOB! I choose the Absolut Seafood, and glad I did. Chock full of seafood and just enough vodka sauce to not overpower the seafood flavor. Also, tried the Lobster Cobb salad which was very fresh and filling. Lots of Lobster chunks, avocado, bacon & blue cheese! An explosion of good taste! The best item, however, was the coconut cake!
