It's such a cute lil place! I absolutely love the setup and the garage door. The vibes are just right. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I was strolling downtown one evening and saw they had gelato and not just coffee. They had the garage door open and it was so nice out. Fantastic! We got lemon, chocolate chip, and a mix of dark chocolate and strawberry. They were all great. My lemon was a sorbet but it tasted just like the lemon gelato in Italy, which I love! The other two were also great, the chocolate and strawberry tasted like a chocolate covered strawberry! The portions weren't large, it seemed a bit on the pricey side, but honestly the quality was so good I don't care. I hope to go back! read more

My used to go spot to for a pour over coffee. Been to the old location numerous times and a few times at their new location on Main Street. All I can say the owners and staff are absolutely devoted to give you the best product. And it shows! Owner and staff are very knowledgeable about the coffees served. Also very limited coffee selection are the only beverages. But on yo the good stuff: we tried almost half of the 8 flavors. All were delicious. I really really like this place, and if you're a fan of gelato, you will too! The good: - Locally owned w/ a cool vibe - The gelato is fantastic - Extremely friendly staff The not so good: - I want this to be a coffee shop. Yes, they have coffee, but it doesn't appear they are serious about their coffee. You can get coffee, but anything with espresso is not possible because they don't have an espresso machine. I asked for an affogato which is a shot of espresso poured over something. In this case, it would be espresso poured over gelato - delicious! (Affogato is the Italian word for drown.) The server told me about their version - called the Avalanche - so I decided to give it a try. The problem is that without an espresso machine, you can't get good espresso. She tried her best with a low-budget hand press, but it can't produce the same crema, texture, or flavor of a real machine. I get it that espresso equipment (grinder, doser, & maker) are expensive, but adding espresso drinks would take this place to a better level and I would upgrade my rating. read more

Such a great local spot on the corner of Main Street. I love what they did with the garage door that opens up on balmy spring and fall days. We all know you really want to know about the coffee and the gelato and the sorbet. I haven't tried all the coffee, but the brew I have tasted is truly good enough to drink black, just as it comes. As someone who loves all the rich froufrou lattes and mochas, that's really saying something. As for the gelato and the sorbet, well, you've got to try it for yourself. Various flavors, each of them true and fresh, delight the soul and the senses. My favorite is the cold brewed coffee flavor, or maybe the dark chocolate. Stopped through Stillwater overnight on a long road trip. After a LONG day of work, loading, driving, etc, Blue Spruce was a welcome break to relax. It was nighttime, so I didn't feel like having coffee, but it looked like they could make a damn fine cup of coffee. So, I had three flavors of gelato. Holy cow, I inhaled it. It was so good. Thanks for a great spot to relax and eat some amazing gelato. This may be one of the highlights that Stillwater has to offer in terms of quality food/beverage. read more

I'm a Blue Spruce fan. They serve quality coffee (of a few different beans and brewing methods) and quality gelato (of a dozen different flavors). The atmosphere is cool and so are the owners. A couple of other nice notes: there's a well kept bathroom, fresh ice water, and free samples to help you make a decision. One thing that may disappoint some is that they no longer serve grilled cheese (as of a year ago-ish). Still, the gelato can hold its own in this world. read more

This place is a place for the super hipster! I am writing a review about the ice cream counter only as I have not tried the coffee as delicious as it smells. The gelato and sorbet both are exquisite. The sizes are fairly small but don't let that fool you, the flavors are so rich a small is all that's needed to feel very satisfied! The prices are on the high side for ice cream but it's artisan, so in my opinion it's worth it for the quality of the treat! If you aren't sure about a flavor, be sure to ask for a sample. As a bonus, they have color changing spoons that are lots of fun! Disabled review: There is a handicap parking spot right by this location but the door closest to it is not the most accessible as it has a small threshold into the door, nothing a wheelchair couldn't get over but you never know. One door has no threshold and is very accessible. Seating inside or out easily fits a wheelchair. The counters are all short and someone in a wheelchair can see all the ice cream and flavors without issue. I have not used the bathrooms in this establishment so I am not sure of them but they look like single-stall locking door type bathrooms. read more

This place has very good ice cream, or sorbet if you want to be technically correct. There are about 8 flavors to chose from but they are all fairy free so it would be a good destination for somebody who is lactose intolerant. The sorbet is very tasty but a little too expense for the small portions. The atmosphere is also a little too granola or hipster for me. I'll stick to braums but it was a good experience. read more
