They were lacking in flavor in my personal opinion. I wished they had more options . The tots were not my favorite as well they. Overall worth a try if you're a beer drinker.

Like another iconic joint in the metro, this one is a former gas station. The brisket at that place is a little bit better. However, everything else that I tried here is spectacular. The sliced brisket was just a little dry. It wasn't bad. The sausage was amazing. It is housemade with green onions and incredible. I generally don't care for sausages that are different, but this one is exceptional and everyone at the table tried it and loved it. The pulled pork was fresh, which is super important and delicious! Wonderful smoky flavor and super tender. They know exactly what they're doing with pork. I'm gonna say that the beans here are the best in the metro. I'm very particular and I don't like beans that are too sweet like Slaps. Those gag me. The Filling Station beans are absolute perfection. Other reviews say the same. The creamy coleslaw was wonderful! My wife put it on her pulled pork sandwich and I had a little bit for dessert because it's sweet. The homemade potato salad was also the best I've had in a long time. We can't wait to return!

This was just a nice birthday dinner and everything was fantastic. Kept it to some pulled pork + turkey this time with a double helping of carbs with fries and cheesy potatoes. The Poor Russ with a loaded baked potato is my go to! I wasn't a fan of the BBQ stuffed potato, but the broccoli with roasted garlic butter was delicious. Got the baked beans, cole slow and a side of cheesy corn. Everything was great. Appreciated the fixings (Texas toast, pickle slices and spears!) I love smoked turkey and this was really perfect. It had a great chew to it. The burnt ends were plenty, carameled and succulent. The brisket was also really good. The unexpected star was the hot sauce (on the table). It was the absolute best BBQ sauce of my life (I have been an OG Gates fan since I was a kid but if I had a choice between Gates and Fritz's hot sauce, it's Fritz's!) Service was pleasant and welcoming. The restaurant itself was rustic and comfy - it feels good to dine in. Man, I wish this place wasn't an 8 hour drive but next time I'm in Missouri, I'll definitely stop in.

Food was brought out rather quickly. Service was great. Malarie was amazing. The atmosphere was good. As customers came and went there was yelling of hello's and good bye's across the room. Only because I am a tough critic, One of my biggest turn offs when learning close to closing time, the staff sweeping, moping, vacuuming to get ahead of the closing task. Please, please save this task till all customers are out of a section or better yet, left the building. Nothing like trying to enjoy your meal and feeling dirt/food hitting your ankles as it's being flung across the room. The burger was dry, had to add ketchup and mustard to give some wetness. Maybe add pickles to the burger to add some moisture. But over all, was still a good burger. For my taste, the wings were way too salty. For my taste, I am a very light salt, normal people who you watch pour salt on their food would probably say it was not enough, again, just my taste, was little to salty. Would deff come back, would deff recommend you sit in Malaria's section.
