This place has really cleaned up. It used to be a major dump, but now is actually much cleaner and nicer. This supermarket is in the same plaza as my dentist and I pretty much only go there before or after seeing my dentist. That being said, they have a good selection of International grocery items. Lots of Caribbean products, some products from Latin America, and tons of products from all the different Asian countries. They have a prepared food section as well, although from what I saw, the prepared food was all Chinese food. Prices were pretty good. You can get a 2 item combo with rice or noodles for $6.99. I didn't actually buy any, so I can't comment on the taste, but everything looked good. Staff are not the friendliest, but prices are cheap, so you win some, you lose some. Lots of free parking in the plaza, but it's busy in the parking lot, so watch out for careless drivers and oblivious pedestrians. read more

Who cares what a place looks like on the outside? It is what is on the inside that matters, and this place proves time and again that glitz and glamour just ain't that important when you are looking for variety, good value and authentic products. Fruit and vegetables: on point price wise-you cannot go wrong. They have bread fruit, jack fruit, tons of varieties of yam (including the one that is popular in N.E. Asia/Japan), a wide range of fresh herbs for cooking, and a more than respectable variety of fruit, they boast a massive variety of foodstuffs from Vietnam, Malaysia and the Philippines. In terms of fish - you need to check what is the freshest they have on a particular day - I got us a frozen pomfret which was on sale. They had extra-jumbo shrimps from India which are very rare to find for sale here in Canada. This place may not be pretty from the outside, but inside, it is a goldmine of enormous product ranges at very, very competitive prices. read more

Groceries: it is great to see items from different ethnic backgrounds! However the produce was not too fresh. The prices of strawberries and spinach were amazing. However when I inspected them they were almost rotten. Maybe that's why they were on sale.. Prepared food is of poor quality. Like, it was edible with low prices. But the sweet sour pork and lemon chicken we ordered were overcooked and super chewy. Fried noodles was okay. Service: the lady at the food counter seemed nice. However she was talking over her cellphone along with taking my order. Other staff were even not so friendly. Cashier did not speak a word or make eye contact with us. She pretty much just grabbed the item, scanned and bagged it, then she shoved it to the end of the checkout. I feel bad for giving out this rating but this place was a disappointment. Do not buy prepared food from this store. I saw many times the people working in the kitchen, they blew their nose and they don't even wash their hand and they continue put the veggies in the frying pan. Many cock roaches in the kitchen. Cock roaches got into the deep fried oil and they don't even change the oil for months, until the oil gets really dark. VERY DIRTY. I will never go back to this supermarket again. I have been going there for years because the prices are reasonable, they have so much Latino products and variety. I've been a loyal customer for years! Last week I went with my mom; we patiently waited to be served by the fish guy who was alone without help (15-20min wait). No problem, we understood he was alone. When we get to the cashier and start unloading our carts she told me i had to unload mine too. Which I said I would do after- my mom was paying first she had put things in mine as she had over filled hers. When cashier got to the fish she seemed to be confused, she looks at the tag, looks at her till, she does this a few times until I ask her "is there a problem?". Finally she looks at me and says something about 5lb on the sticker and 6lbs on her scale. I said to her "It's $17 something" and pointed at the sticker that shows the price of $17 something. So she asks me "$2.99/lb?" I say yes and she proceeds to charge the fish, and then I see she's charging me $19 something. So I tell her she priced it wrong and that the price is on the sticker again. So now she yells at me saying there's a 1lb difference, and that it's 19$. I tell her I'm not paying 19$ for it, and she takes it off the bill and puts it to the side! I now loudly let her know I want the fish but she hugs it to her chest as if I'm going to rip it out of her hands and tells me she won't give it to me unless I pay 19$. I refused to and told her that she can't charge me more than what the sticker says, now we are yelling back and forth. The manager/owner comes over to see what the problem is. I'm thinking she was there to calm her cashier... nope she wanted me to follow her to the back and have the fish guy weigh the fish again! Why? If it's wrong it's not my fault. And I waited long enough to get my fish, and the price is ON THE STICKER! not once in all the times I've shopped there have they weighed my meat/fish twice; they always go by the sticker. I was furious and couldn't belive the customer service this supermarket had. My mom told me to leave the fish, we haven't done anything wrong and it's not worth the trouble. But I was so upset and could not believe they we being so difficult for 2$ difference. We together were about to spend over $300 there!!!! So I told the manager/owner who had now proceeded to cash us out, (the cashier had gone to the back somewhere); that she could keep the groceries and we walked out. It's not about $2 more, it's about customer service and treating customers right; who yells at their customers because of an error they made?! If being treated fairly and customer service is important to you, stay away from this place because they clearly don't have it read more
