I could write a full length novel about how much I enjoy the time that I spend at Blue Sky. I have been going there infrequently for facials and massages (which are always just DIVINE) for many years, but recently set up regular appointments to get all of my hair cuts from Becca. I just can't speak highly enough of the quality of her service. The way she treats my hair is just second to none. I actually also find the price tag on a cut and style to be very reasonable there. I would agree with some of the other reviewers that the spa and nail services I have had there in the past are very pricey, but $45 for a top notch cut and blow out is a good deal, in my opinion. I will continue going to Blue Sky, not only for regular hair appointments with Becca, but also for spa services when my budget permits. I just want to also say that I find it laughable that some reviewers give a low rating due to not being able to get an appointment right away. Last I checked, being booked solid for months is a GREAT problem for a business to have, and a sure sign that they are going to be worth your time and money when you are able to get in. read more

Home of the best pedicure I've ever had. This Aveda spa and salon brings a little bit of calmness and relaxation to a bustling strip mall near the Warwick Mall. Manicures and even polish changes are little luxuries at this salon and this is a rare salon/spa that does not smell of acetone and other nail salon staples. I've also had fabulous massages and mini-massages (try the 20 minute upper back massage during your lunch hour) here. I used to work nearby and miss this place so much! read more

I went for a hot stone massage and a pedicure combo. The staff were all equally wonderful, kind, and patient. I use Aveda products regularly, so I was completely happy with the products they were using. The atmosphere is clean, relaxing and crisp (in a good way). I wish I liked the massage more than I did. It was my first hot stone massage. I have nothing to compare it to -- but I was cold the whole time. The stones did not feel warm on my skin at all. The therapist actually brought in a space heater because I asked if the table had a heating blanket. The pedicure was great. I was able to soak for a long time with the bubble jets and got warmed up again. The technician was thorough and dealt well with my tickleish nature. I Love this place, the massage rooms are very clean and the mood is set up nicely. The service is great, very professional and polite including the receptionists they usually great you by your name. I was fortunate to get an easy morning massage by Lindsay and she was amazing. I think I would even say the best massage I have experienced over the years. Her technique was spot on, exerted the right pressure in precise spots and she communicated just enough to know what was working but not too much to interrupt the relaxation. The facials are to die for, and because Blue Sky uses Aveda products, you walk out feeling naturally pampered. My only complaint is it is tremendously difficult to book any service on short notice. I have had several facials and massages and a manicure at the Blue Sky over the last couple of years. I go to Erin as regularly as I can afford for her massages. I often travel and try spas everywhere I go. They never compare to Erin. I just wish there was a private relaxation area for the spa services. I brought my niece in for a facial and the technician gave her a free makeup application after. She did the same with me once also. Really taking her time and not rushing. There is not high pressure to buy the products which I also appreciate. The spa is clean and nicely decorated. Highly recommended. read more

A beautiful Spa I had a Turkish scrub with an 1/2 massage. So let me start that Everyone was very nice. Check in was easy and welcoming I went to the scent bar, they offer many wonderful scents. The room was comfortable an amazing rain shower and relaxing music. The tech was very sweet I would have love a bit of stronger hands especially with a scrub but I never asked so that's on me. And the table was only slightly warm never got hot instead I was offered an extra blanket. I was offered 1/2 price off a pedicure it would have cost me $54 I payed $27. I'm glad I didn't pay $54 not because it wasn't good nor I have nothing negative about the nail tech but nothing special or over the top. I was offered a complimentary wash and dry and I was so impressed with Maria I have very curl hair that if it's not dried properly it frizzes and she was not intimidated and did it very quick. I have one more service to go to and have booked it ....a facial reason for the 3 star we will c if goes to 4 or 2 stay tuned. read more

I really enjoyed my hot stone massage (with Val) at BlueSky! It was my first time to this spa and I was really happy with the decor and friendly staff. Before my massage Val gave me the tour and made me feel comfortable. I enjoyed the scent I chose (orange) and the music/temperature in the room was perfect. The hot stones were VERY relaxing, but also very hot. I loved it, but wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is heat sensitive. I received this massage as a gift - valued at $115 for 1 hr 20 minutes - which I thought was good. The other massage prices looked very reasonable as well ($75 for an hour). I had my haircut by Heather on Saturday October 10. I had gone to Heather several times before and had a good short haircut, This time however I feel like I was butchered. She said that they were drying hair but proceeded to cut my hair dry. The top looked great. She used the razor on the sides and she shaved my hair so close on the sides and back that it looks like a man's cut when he is going into the marines, i went home and cried. She washed my hair and then use a curling iron brush to dry what as left on the top. I told her I didnot want to look masculine. She said no that I wouldn't. Well I feel since she didn't want to dry my hair she shaved it off. I will be cancelling all my future hair appointments . I cannot believe that Blue Sky would allow someone like this to continue to work there when she obviously does not do a good job.I will however give a shout out to Michela who did my pedicure. This review is way overdo,,,but I really need to share this!!!!! I had previously to this visit immensely loved this spa. Had been a client for a number of years. I only have wonderful things to say about their therapists and treatments. But honestly I must share this their so called receptionists and greeters???? They standout the most!!! TOTALLY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL!!! THEY DROVE ME TO TEARS for being 10 minutes late for treatments the day of my oldest sons and first to be married wedding rehearse night!!!! I was stuck in traffic on 95 and had called them to tell them what had happened. They showed no mercy. When I arrived was told I would not be a able to receive the full treatments because I was late!!! I have vowed never to return and have not for a long long time and never have!!!! What a great spot to treat yourself! The spa is very warm and inviting with attentive staff to greet you in the reception area. (An added bonus is that Aveda spas always smell wicked good!) I recently had a Turkish Scrub with Teri and it was FANTASTIC! I hadn't had this type of service before, so Teri talked me through the whole process and made me feel very much at ease. The service started with my choice of Aveda aromatherapy scents to be infused into my session. I was then taken to a treatment room with high ceilings, dim lighting and a kick-ass private rainfall shower. The scrub treatment is a double full-body exfoliation, followed by a moisturizing massage. I left there feeling 100% refreshed and rejuvenated, and plan on booking this treatment every 4-6 months to keep my skin smooth and bright! read more

I just got my hair cut and foiled here on Wednesday by Jessica. My friend got a facial and pedicure. Not only does my hair look amazing (I got about 6 inches cut off!) but the experience was too. I usually never pamper myself but that's exactly what what happened. I felt like I was at a spa not just a place "that cuts hair." I was offered water and tea! I was having a hard time booking a 90 minute massage. So, i ended up having to book over a month in advance. When i arrived i was seated in the waiting area with a plastic cup of water and was told that my technician would be out soon. Twenty minutes after my scheduled appointment time after no one had checked on me i decided to go back to the desk and ask. They told me it'd be a few more minutes and someone would be out. Luckily my technician was coming around the corner as i asked this question and she brought me over to decide what kind of massage oil I'd like. (No apology for running late or anything which was a little annoying). There were a lot of different scents to choose from which were all not facing me so even when i described what i like it took a while to really find something i liked. The room where the massage took place was serene and simply decorated. The nature sounds were pretty good as well. I will say it was pretty hard to relax with the lights as bright as they were in that room. I had filled out a paper which disclosed some of my health issues (back pain and migraines). My technician and i discussed when my last migraine was and she asked about my back pain. I told her i really wanted to focus on my back as that was the main reason i was there. I had mentioned to her that i also have a hard time being on my back for an extended period of time as well. The majority of my massage ended up being focused on the back of my neck/the back of my head while still laying down on my back. This wasn't really comfortable or relaxing especially the way i had to position myself to try to remain comfortable. I expressed my discomfort but ended up still being on my back for more than 60 minutes of my massage. She asked me to flip over at that point then spent only 15 minutes on my back. The remainder of my time was spent getting "compressions" which felt like a cat kneading at my thigh. My legs were never massaged and the compressions were pretty weird. I'm not really sure what i spent $110 on here? The lack of respect for my time or my requests left me really wanting more especially after waiting over a month for an appointment. I'm really disappointed and definitely won't return. read more

I got a great haircut at Blue Sky about a year ago and wanted to book another cut and color. I was told I need two separate appointments, one for a consultation and one for a cut. I appreciate the attention to detail, but I work full time as a professor and have a baby. Free time is not easy to come by and I need to arrange a sitter for every outing. When I explained the situation to the receptionist and asked that everything be done in one appointment, not only was I not accommodated, I was treated brusquely. I felt my business was not appreciated, which is a shame. I'm looking for a new salon. read more

The staff is always extremely accommodating whether it's to get you a cup of tea or take your phone out of your bag for you (because you just had a manicure). I always go to aveda salons and I just moved to the area. I chose blue sky because I wanted to feel pampered. Atmosphere was nice but the service was lacking. The results of the haircut were good but I wanted the relaxing treatment I have come to expect from an aveda salon. No hand or scalp massage offered. No tea or water offered. My hair was also a little frizzy when I left the salon. I like to find a stylist that I can be loyal to and really get to know. read more

I've gone to Blue Sky for years for a massage and it's pretty much a hit or miss. I've never had scheduling issues as many have mentioned but there is no consistency with the technicians. Some are great, others are just okay. Never awful but not what I would pay their prices for. The front desk staff were friendly and prompt. Scheduling the appointment was easy and they were accommodating. Was greeted quickly my my stylist and received a wonderful soothing head massage during hair wash. Then, after discussions and examples of how much hair I wanted cut, 10 inches was the total amount I wanted cut. There was no ambiguity with this, it was discussed fully. The stylist gathered my hair in a ponytail and cut 17 inches of hair!!! When she handed me the ponytail I was shocked and horrified, my mid back length hair was cut just above my shoulders!! This was my first time ever getting a massage so I was a little nervous but mostly excited. I had Erin and my goodness, her hands are made of unicorn tears. I swear! I got the stress fix massage and it was the most amazing 60 minutes of relaxation I've had in awhile. I got a little bit of everything with this session. She covered the scalp, face, arms, legs, feet, back and neck. The hot towels and warm oil were wonderful. 100% amazing experience. The staff is also quite friendly, too. Great service and wonderful staff. But they are overpriced. Regular pedicure - $50. Wasn't anything special and no better then the corner nail salon. Shellac manicure - $40. Good price but there was no treatment for my hands. She put this liquid gel on my nail bed. My hands never touched water. Weirdess manicure I've ever had! Good conversion with the manicurist though! Came here after having my son Leo. The postpartum aches and pains were no match for my much needed hour massage. I chose the chakra balancing massage. It was very relaxing. I picked the oil scents that were used in the room, and the aura was perfect. I was about to flush out the day and unwind comfortably. The massage therapist was well educated and tended to all the aches I noted in my questionnaire filled out prior to the massage. I actually ended up getting so relaxed that I fell asleep on the table the masseuse woke me up gently and told me to take my time getting up and dressed. I was tempted to just fall back asleep... But I got up and got dressed, opened the door to see chocolate and lemon cucumber water waiting for me. Woo! A girl could get used to this. I have to give credit when credit is due. This place may be pricey but ITS WORTH IT. You get what you pay for people! 5 stars to my new fav massage establishment. On top of it all, I love that they use all aveda products! So good! Have taken my 16 year old twice now. Fantastic service both times. First time was for my daughter's formal she wanted a particular style from a magazine and she has very long hair and they did it perfectly.She also had her makeup done and they did another great job. While she was there we asked if they could give her a manicure and they fit her in on a busy friday. She was so happy and looked so beautiful. About 3 weeks ago she wanted her highlights redone and wanted a lot of blonde- something her previous salon failed to do. I spoke to Lisa and told her what she wanted and when she wanted it done, again they were very busy but found a day and time that worked for her and gave her the blonde she was looking for. She will not go anywhere else, We will make another appointment for about 6 weeks. Great service, fabulous look and goes out of their way to make their clients happy. A+++ read more

Clean and neat salon with experienced staff. I am not a big fan of AVEDA (that's their main product line),but since I got a gift card for their services,I decided to give it a chance :) Pros- plenty of free parking (located in mini strip mall), Clean and cozy reception area. They have 3 receptionist,so there is no waiting to get ready for your appointment.The technicians were very polite and experienced. I had a turkish body scrub 60min-85$ (!!) with Erin and 90 min deep tissue massage with Karen (?)- 110$. AHHH what a good day ! Cons- the treatment rooms were bit too cold. As I noticed after-they had no heating as it seemed to me. The other thing what bother me a little- I had 5$ left on my gift certificate and was not able to use it either for a tip or any kind of product. The option to use it on the next appointment is out of question-I am out of area . I've bought many gift certificates here, but Friday was my first time coming for myself. I was hoping for a massage (last minute) and they had an opening. The staff was very professional and courteous. My massage therapist was Karen. She was absolutely fantastic, and probably the best massage I've had. I told her I went for a run and strained my hamstring, and that my right shoulder blade was achy. She spent the most time on those 2 areas, then did the rest of my body in the time allotted.
