They don't take military TRICARE dental insurance here! **I used to go to this dentist about three years ago. I was a patient here from the 2019 to 2022.. In that time, span the dental services were impeccable, a huge surprise, especially off after coming off of active-duty and seeing how the government takes care of your teeth in the military to this place was amazing to see there was such fine dental dentistry outside of the military. My wife and I made appointments to be seen here and had our teeth cleaned every six months. I had a few fillings filled here and often talked to the dentist about the type of procedures of modern dentistry that they use and was highly impressed with both Mr. and Mr. Dr. Stevens work. The process in which they take to photograph every tooth in your mouth bite wings x-rays you name it and then be able to produce a color, digital photo of your teeth that you can view in person there at your appointment and the dentist can point out things to look for on your teeth or concerns that they see that you can't see. I was a little overwhelmed by all of the TVs in each room, but I guess people like to watch TV while they're getting their teeth cleaned coming from the older times they never had these entertainment options in the past. Walking into the office, it was always clean. The ladies were always friendly and helpful at the front desk. They had complementary drinks while you're waiting for your appointment however, I never waited any longer than 20 minutes to be seen the wait times were very quick and the cleanings were very thorough.A I felt very comfortable coming to this dentist. Towards the end of 2022 when I was coming in for my annual check up, I was in the process of scheduling for a crown to be placed on one of my back molars after insurance it was $1500 out-of-pocket which I was happy to pay, considering the impressive work that this dentist office had already shown me. But before I was able to get my cleaning the end of that year; November. I was informed that they would no longer be taking TRICARE dental insurance. And they dropped me right then and there are like a bad habit. I was super bummed and scrambling at the end of the year to try and find dental insurance, especially when they said my cleaning would be $300 out-of-pocket. I haven't been back to a dentist in 3 years because it's hard to find a good quality dentist like these folks and when you build a dentist patient relationship it's hard to start over somewhere else. **Overall, this dentist office did really good work. All of their hygienist's were well trained and did good work as far as cleanings went. The dentist there did phenomenal work with fillings and everything else but since they no longer take my dentist insurance, sadly I can no longer recommend them based on the good experiences that I had at this office. read more

Blue Sky Dental billed me for 2 procedures not covered ny my insurance without my approval. I went in for 1 of my 2 free cleaning and x-rays I get from my insurance once a year. I got a bill from them for 164.00 for photographs and one other procedure. At no time was I made aware that these photographs were not covered by my insurance until I received my portion of the bill. New to Florida and wanted to give this dentist a try since there were so many good reviews. The reviews are definitely fake. They do extra imaging to try to bill your insurance to the max and then stress that you need a deep cleaning that your insurance won't cover. They bill you for a certain fee then when your insurance denies total coverage because it wasn't necessary they hit you with the bill. As a physician myself this is absolutely disappointing that dental offices do this to make more money. I advise all to take your insurance else where. read more

Do not trust these people. Seriously. They do good work. But are literally scammers. My husband had a fill in. They charged him $40 & $145. We got the paperwork from the insurance saying he should have only paid $91 for the whole thing. I called them and they said Oh yeah he does have a credit of $54. Umm, no it should be $94. (plus why to overcharge to begin with) Anyways, Leah, the office manager, says they never billed insurance for the $40 since it was a biting. If I have insurance and pay for insurance - why not bill them!! Their excuse was because when his FREE cleaning appointment comes up, they do biting then and charge insurance then. I said OK - well for his free cleaning, can yall just do that - just the cleaning? She said its usually $70 so they can charge him $40 now or $70 in March (at his FREE cleaning appointment). Long story short - they do all these "nice" things like xrays and bitings and stuff but bill your insurance. And when the time comes when you actually NEED a biting or xray for any tooth ache or fillings - then they charge you for them because they have already claimed the free bitings/xray during your cleaning appointment!! read more

I came in for a routine cleaning as a new patient. The facility is very clean and has many expensive gadgets and niche' items that absolutely set this practice apart from many I have personally been to. The staff was all very kind and welcoming and I genuinely enjoyed the ambiance. All was cut short however when I noticed the peel packs used to sterilize their instrumentation did not have an internal steam chemical indicator within. They relied solely on an external indicator provided on the peel packs themselves. This external indicator would be known as a class 1 steam chemical indicator. This is simply not good practice as using a single class 1 indicator demonstrates that the peel pack was exposed to steam, it does not guarantee that the perimeters for sterilization were met within the peel pack itself. You don't need to be a trained professional to know this. Even by doing a quick google search I was able to find this quote: "Internal indicators need to be used within each package that will be sterilized." taken from infectioncontroltoday.com under chemical indicators 101. When I brought this up to them, they told me that they do whats known as a bowie dick test every month to ensure their perimeters are being met. But what happens when their machine isn't meeting the perimeters before that monthly checkup? Are they satisfied with putting their patients at risk? I personally think so. In my experience as a certified surgical technologist, a spore test was ran every morning before the first autoclave load and then in every load for the remainder of the day. Every tray and peel pack contains a class 1 and a class 4 or 5 internal indicator as well. Patient safety is everyone's priority. They did not seem to appreciate my concerns as a patient when i took responsibility for my own health. Dr Stevens herself attacked my credentials. It is very unfortunate that your average patient who isn't trained on sterile technique is at the mercy of those he/she believes is looking out for their best interest and safety. This is a beautiful facility staffed with individuals who I believe in my heart want nothing more than to do right by their patient. Nobody in there gave me the impression that they were purposefully trying to harm anyone. But I believe that we as patients need to take responsibility to protect our health and I think the public should know that this facility does not use internal steam indicators and therefore cannot promise you that their instrumentation is sterile. Do with that information what you wish. read more

This office is amazing. I have major anxiety over dental visits and just getting my teeth cleaned. Lindsay was my hygienist and fantastic. I'm such a maniac in the chair I can't believe she tolerated me. I had to take somethings to help me relax and when my husband was late to pick me up, Dr Stevens offered to drive me HOME!!! Amazing kind and professional office. Not to mention they have state of the art EVERYTHING!!! I hadn't been to the dentist for 18 months. Lots of COVID wine stains and coffee and tea. NO MORE! The dentist is not supposed to be a place you go to enjoy yourself. So I have to start there when thinking of reviewing a place historically known for torture and pain. I'll say this about Blue Sky: of all the torture places I've visited over the course of my life, this is by far my favorite torture place. The torture of paperwork is minimized with snazzy iPads that come prefilled with much of the information you've already provided. The torture of lukewarm or bad customer service is eliminated by the staff's consistent and believable warm welcomes. It is possible they train in the same facility that Chik-Fil-A sends their employees. The torture of waiting or bringing your kid to wait is limited by a comfortable waiting area with an old school arcade game in the corner. The boy barely complains about going to the dentist now. The torture of sitting in the chair and getting the inside of your mouth poked and drilled at....remains. BUT at least you get your choice of what Netflix show to watch (I actually choose to listen to podcasts during the actual torture session), very attentive and caring hygienist and doctor who are serious about you not feeling any pain in their care, and if you're lucky...what for it...A Massage Chair!! Never in my life have been experienced such conflicting emotions in a doctor's office. "Sure they are aggressively removing my tooth right now but goodness my back feels nice!" The torture of billing! Ugh. But nope, not here. The front desk staff are experienced (don't let their youthful faces fool you!) and walk you through every line and every twist and turn the insurance company tries to throw your away. And finally, here is what Maya (age 7) has to say about his dentist office: "it's great and it helps a lot because they don't really hurt you. And all you have to do is just lay or even sit." Shame on you! Don't be fooled by the "Friendly" office staff. They have been well-schooled in how run a scam. Not only did they milk my insurance, they then changed my out of pocket amount three different times. I thought I had paid my balance in full, only to receive an additional statement for $16.51. I went back to the office and told them this was the amount I was discounted for paying cash. I was told to wait while the front office gal went to the back to obviously discuss how to handle this with another employee. She came back and blamed It on me maxing out my insurance and it was only an "estimate ", my 3% cash discount had been applied and I owed them $6.80. I then explained to her that during my " free" cleaning I told the hygienist I did not want the flouride, and that she insisted on sending it home with me, and that I returned the fluoride to them, but my insurance had paid them $38. she said " Our staff would never force a service on anyone " So basically I was called a liar and they are committing fraud. i cannot stress enough how super, incredibly patient and kind these folks were to me today. i'd never been to a dentist and had a tooth that was leaving me with excruciating pain the last couple days. they were able to see me the same day i called, and were even able to extract it for me. they walked me through every single step, from the moment i walked in to fill out paperwork, what my costs were with my insurance, to what to expect while they did the exam, and what to expect for the procedure (prep, during and after). and while i was so overwhelmed with anxiety, nerves and pain, they couldn't have been more patient and sweet to me. they literally made a christmas miracle happen for me today, i'm able to still go out of town to see my family (which i don't get to see but once a year) for the holiday while feeling so much better. Last night I went into a moms group looking for a dentist because the dentist I originally scheduled with for today canceled on me yesterday because I didn't want to do all the work they recommended so they said they didn't have time for just an extraction and canceled my appointment but said they can fit me in in a couple weeks. Not only was I going to be left in pain from a bad tooth but it made me feel really unimportant to them as well. I felt they just wanted our money but not a little of it but all of it for all the work they wanted to do. Many people commented on my post recommending places and Doctor Jonas commented saying they were going to be busy but to give them a call anyways to see what they could work out. I went in at 1130 and we worked out some details, they worked with me financially as well, which was really great because it's Christmas time!! I walked out around 1400. The place was very clean and very comforting. The employees were so kind to me, many different people came in to check on me while I was waiting and the lady who was interviewing for a job even held my hand during parts of the procedure because I'm a bit of a scaredy-cat I will be switching here for good and even my husband said he's going to check it out for his next cleaning!
