Sticking with 5 stars. Ordered delivery because we just weren't feelin' going out. Ordered online - he had the drunken noodle and I had chicken chili basil sauce, both Thai hot. Delivered contactless, left on doorstep, and on time. Everything was piping hot, temperature wise. We settled in for what we figured would be a decent meal. Wow, were we wrong. It was phenomenal. The Thai hot was actually Thai hot and not American Thai hot. :) My chili basil was outstanding. Portion so large it made two meals. His drunken noodle blew his mind and nailed a perfect Thai hot. Also enough for 2 meals. We both could not get over how delicious our food was and we can't wait to have more. We are sad to say they outdid the other local Thai place just west of them. Our normal sushi spot isn't open for dine in so we had to venture to a new place and this was the one. They made sure we had masks as we entered and the seating was appropriately spaced out. We started with a ginger salad that was delicious and plenty for the two of us to share. We also ordered a shrimp appetizer that was nothing like what we thought we were ordering but were pleasantly surprised. We then shared the eel roll, volcano roll, Tampa bay roll and the fried jb roll. They were all delicious and a good variety of flavors. Our server was friendly and made sure to keep our drinks full. Taking one star off because it has an old, musky aroma and it was a tad warm. May be time for a new AC. read more

Wife and I swung in for sushi to celebrate our anniversary. We chose to sit outside, our serve was very thoughtful about keeping distance as she served us (Ming was her name) and her offered good help in choosing our rolls. We got the Mexican roll (Shrimp tempura roll), the Rainbow Roll, California Roll, salmon & avocado roll and the tuna roll. Everything tasted fresh and came out pretty quickly. Would have liked to give 4 1/2 . Minor Negatives: the rolls weren't put together super carefully IMHO, the tuna roll was pretty bland (even though it's designed to be simple), and although it's not Blue Sake's daily, multiple people were smoking around us on either end of the plaza and it was just kinda gross trying to enjoy the meal. Blue Sake is a cute little Asian Fusion restaurant with so many options including Thai, Chinese, Japanese, & Vietnamese food. They also have some outside seating which is perfectly fitting since Dunedin is super dog friendly. We ordered four rolls including the Lobster Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, Tuna Bomb, and JB roll. The lobster roll and JB roll were my fave. We also ordered edamame to go with it. It came with a very tasty ginger salad. My hubby's drunken noodles were okay, but there was barely any chicken, and I thought should have had a few more veggies. I do like it here and feel like they have options on their menu that I don't see anywhere. No complaints about their service. A while back, a friend recommended Blue Sake for good sushi and I thought, yeah, we'll try that some day....today was the day!!!! Wow! It's not good sushi, it's great sushi. That's all we wanted, sushi, so I cannot comment on their other menu items but I'll bet they're pretty good, too. Our server was really sweet and took our drink orders while we pondered over the menu and checked out the decor. We noticed they had a full bar, albeit small with only 4 barstools so I assume you'd have to get there early enough to score a seat. They also had a nice sushi bar that you could sit up to but I like a table better. Anyhow, we ordered the Tampa Roll, Spider Roll, and Salmon Avocado Roll. The presentation was fantastic, as you can see from the photo I've included. They were so good and we polished off every single item on the platter except the hunk of wasabi which neither of us care to eat. Would I recommend this gem??? The tempura was fried in such a heavy batter, it was difficult to identify what you were eating...my husband and I could not identify any calamari after dissecting each piece. The onion rings were pretty good, but the batter on it was how onion rings have been prepared before. Huge pieces of carrots indicated rushing and not making them identifiable unless you cut it in half. I gave up on the tempura as it was way too heavy for me to enjoy. I turned to the sushi which was also somewhat disappointing and not up to Blue Sake standards, I thought. It wasn't rolled tightly enough so it came apart before you could get it to your mouth. It also had a 'mushy' texture which is not what we have had there before. I don't know the reason for the poor quality of what we had but maybe they were rushed although I allowed 45 minutes for preparation time. Rather than package the two warm rolls in the same package, they put together the Spicy Tuna and Mexican Roll, which, I thought caused the Mexican roll to be cold. However, when I ate the Tampa roll, it too was cold. I called the restaurant and she blamed it on the Uber Eats delivery. Unless the driver had the a/c blowing directly on our delivery, there was no way it was the delivery's fault....she said that maybe he had 2 or 3 stops before mine. I've been searching for a place in the area that offers Laksa, since I've been craving it since visiting Morimoto in Disney Springs. Blue Sake is finally the place I was seeking. Laksa is a spiced noodle soup - kind of like the consistency of ramen. However, it's creamier and has more punchy flavors than ramen. They have you to wait outside as they extra cleaning to the tables then they come to get you to seat you. Now, they do have seating outside but we wanted to go inside to eat. We were disappointed. They practice strict social distance on the inside. The place was clean and I love the blue color atmosphere. The waitress was nice. She understood little english but she got our order right. The food was very good and delicious. I got the Fire Whiskey Shrimp and we shared the Pear Sake. It was light and refreshing. it was my first time drinking sake. I like the way they split the shrimp as butterfly shrimp with the shell still on which was a bit different. The veggies and the whiskey sauce was nice crisp and delicious. Also, I had their fried shrimp spring rolls. Now, I thought I was ordering regular rice spring rolls but it was the spring roll but fried. Let me say the food is tasty, but we will not be going there again. This is the second time we had the same problems. Waitress took our order my husband ordered an entree and I ordered one sushi and a roll; people seated after us were served first. My husband got his dish and I waited and waited and when the sushi finally arrived it was not what I ordered. The waitress, again, is not fluent in English and needed to have the items pointed out to her. My sushi was not with the upcharge quail egg, but that is what I got. She took it back to have it remade. We called the manager over, who apologized profusely, but that doesn't matter. I have absolutely no problem with people not speaking English well. I do have a problem when people are hired for a job and don't have the English skills to do them properly. Management needs to teach the waitress the names of the dishes in English and make sure she understands what people are ordering. read more

Normally when I think of dining out I don't think a driving up into a strip mall and going into someplace with a rather exotic name, but that's just what happened one night last week. I opted to sit outside, which was basically some chairs and tables on the sidewalk pretty much in the parking lot, yeah I know this sounds like it's going to be an interesting review! The server was a wonderful and attentive woman with a personality, and sense of humor, which I can always appreciate. The menu had a lot of good things to choose from and the portions were big enough that I ate all I could, and took quite a bit of it home! Yep, this place is a two thumbs up winner. I absolutely love Thai food and was excited to see a place with such great reviews had opened up close to my house. We started off with a Mexican roll just so we could try the sushi and see how we liked it. Theirs was spot on -- perfectly crunchy, great flavor, very fresh. We scarfed that down in 2 minutes flat. Next came our meals. My mom got the veggie delight with chicken and i chose the rama sama long (or is it rama song long, or rama lama song? I can NEVER remember) which is chicken in peanut sauce with rice, cabbage, carrots and broccoli. WOW! It was so tasty, reminded me of the "amazing" chicken from other local Thai places. Between the soup, sushi and a few bites of my meal, I was stuffed, so had enough to bring home for leftovers. The server kindly boxed them up for me and brought it back to my table, that wins big points in my book too. I had the chicken teriyaki as I'm not a sushi fanatic, but I was there with 5 other people. They all seemed to like their meals, but I didn't. The teriyaki sauce tasted like it was pre-made and like I'd had it somewhere else and didn't like it there either. It was WAY too salty and thick and it was just poured over a very small piece of chicken breast that had been pan fried and cut into slices then laid on a bed of stir fried veggies. It was also overcooked and dry. The cabbage (never had that before in teriyaki) was very undercooked and hard to chew as it was in big chunks.
