Great price!

South Ajax has so many places that serve a great breakfast. The Blue Rooster, located on Monarch Ave, north of Westney, is one of those places. I dropped in recently for their Early Bird Breakfast. I had three eggs, bacon, hash browns, baked beans, and toast, all for only $7.95 (weekday mornings only). Everything was cooked perfectly, and delicious! The service was excellent! If you haven't tried this place, you should!

Another great brunch at Blue Rooster!! We love their pancakes. My son's Big Rooster Breakfast was enormous, he actually couldn't finish it so took the rest home for another meal. As usual Yvonne was cheery and helpful. She suggested buttering both sides of the pancakes. Yup she was right sooo yummy

Came here on a Sunday morning around 10am after seeing a line up outside Angelique (too hungry and impatient to wait). Ordered 2 breakfasts to share with hubby and our daughter...and still had difficulty finishing everything! Big portions, delicious and prompt service. Will definitely return again!

Our regular spot was closed, so we stopped into The Blue Rooster for the first time in over 20 years living in Ajax. It was a holiday Monday, but we only had to wait 10 mins for a table of 6 plus one toddler. Service was very slow, they might have been understaffed on a holiday. But they were very polite and apologetic. Huge portions, HUGE. And they have some of the best breakfast sausage, everyone agreed!

I normally have weekend brunch at Angeliques or Scrambles but decided to try Blue Rooster since it has high ratings. Similar to the other restaurants, there was a bit of a wait when we arrived (11:30am) but was seated at the bar fairly quickly. Food 3.5/5 I ordered the smoked salmon eggs benedict while my s/o got the three eggs with sausage and bacon. The side shredded potatoes were delicious and overloaded onto the plate. They weren't served hot but would've even tasted better if it was. The eggs were cooked to my liking (medium) and were very fresh. The english muffin was perfectly toasted (crispy on the outside) and soft on the middle which was the perfect compliment to the rest of the dishes. Service 3.5/5 Our waitress was friendly and consistently made conversation with us. She was very attentive, always had a smile on her face and would check in routinely. I can't quite say the same about the other waitresses as they were busy with the other tables and the other seemed disinterested. Blue Rooster is a great place to have brunch and I'm looking forward to coming back to try other items on the menu.

We usually commute from North York to this nice brunch place. I took my brother and his girl here before and they asked to come back again. So we arranged today, I usually order the Egg Benny with smoked salmon $12.75 and add avocado ($1.95) They give you three egg benny and the home fries are nicely done. You can specify how you would like your eggs cooked. The service is very friendly and they will keep asking you if you need refills.

Weekday breakfast special is 2 eggs with bacon homefries and toast. I opted out of the toast so they added some fruit.

This restaurant has recently rebranded itself with renovations and has the same owners. I'm unable to comment on the changes as I never visited before the reopening. What I can say is the restaurant is well decorated and the furniture is new and clean. I like that there is a large window looking into the kitchen which is also very clean. I compare breakfast restaurants by their midweek special. Everyone has their favorite easy to cook the eggs, style of potatoe and method to cook bacon. Here they serve homefries that are large cut and very thin sliced bacon (both deep fried). My wife likes her bacon crispy but I prefer a little softness which is impossible deep fried. I enjoy a crispy outside of my potatoes which were cooked well. My over easy eggs were cooked great with yolks still soft. I'm rating 3 stars because it's just an average good breakfast. Price, portion and quality are all average. I encourage everyone (including the owners) to eat around the corner to compare to their competition. For $1 more the hash brown potatoes are grilled with a large portion, bacon is thick sliced and a great smoke flavor. But as I said, breakfast is a definite individual preference.

Just tried the Philly Steak sandwich. HUGE (had to be bigger than 1 lb) and delicious. Highly recommended, especially if you are hungry.

Good breakfast place. If you have a big appetite you won't be disappointed. Very friendly staff. Place is small so a bit crowded.

The poached eggs were medium with lots of yolk to spread on the peameal bacon and english muffin. The shredded potato hashbrown is addictive and massive portions. The baked beans were nice and warm to compliment your breakfast. I ordered the 3 eggs over easy with 3 sausages and 3 bacon. They actually serve 4 eggs which I assume they are using medium sized eggs. That's OK as the extra makes up for the smaller eggs. You get a choice of toast ( white, whole wheat or rye) along with shredded potato hashbrowns or home fries. My mother-in-law ordered the Western Omelet with ham and onion. She really enjoyed the dish and she managed to eat almost half of the dish. The coffee is bottomless and the service is very friendly. I suggest dressing up for the cold weather because you might have to lineup outside the restaurant. I don't think they take reservations and it's first come first serve.

They were busy with a short burst of customers and there were a lot of servers around. To our surprise. We were only charged for our coffee and tea. We were ready to pay because in most of these instances the customers still have to pay for complaints of food. So I have to give a big credit to the service and the servers. I will definitely go back and try some of their other breakfast options.

The ambiance is quite nice but the vibe was off for me. I couldn't put my finger on it at first but having reflected on the evening, I feel as though the staff was just condescending and 'fake'. I ordered the lobster tacos and the other guests I was with, both ordered the prime rib sandwich. They saw the sandwich delivered to another table and were impressed by the size and presentation. They, however, did not receive the same and were quite disappointed. That being said, I think consistency is lacking. My tacos were quite tasty and I was satisfied with my dish. If I were to go back, I would order it again. Overall, it's not a restaurant I would go out of my way to get to.

Kids eat free after 2pm on Sundays. Variety of daily deals. Came in around 3:30 on Sunday for late lunch, it was quiet as it was in between dining times. Our server Athina was very lovely. Room: 5/5 Decor is a bit dated but such a gem to see the beautiful paintings. Clean, open room. Cozy feel but actually has plenty of seating. They also have a good sized patio, to catch that last bit of summer. Food: 4/5 Flavour of our meals were decent, the only issue we had was that the proteins were quiet thin, resulting in being overcooked. Happy Hour Dinner 5oz Striploin meal, came with app, entree, and dessert. Steak came with roasted potatoes and veggies. Slightly overcooked steak, but for $25 this was a great value. Got a caesar salad and tres leches for this combo. The dessert was fantastic! Teriyaki Salmon Salad, salmon came on a bed of salad. The salad had lettuce, a few cucumber slices, halved cherry tomatoes, raw broccoli, and mushroom slices. I chose the honey mustard vinaigrette, it was delicious and paired really well with the fish. Kids meal chicken tenders came with fruit cup, drink, and dessert. Chicken tenders were so thin, they were quite overcooked and hard. Little one loved the brownie and ice cream dessert. Washrooms: 2.5/5 One of the ladies stall did not have toilet paper, and the floor was very sticky, felt very grimy just going in to wash our hands. They did have a robust paper towel dispenser, and positioned disposal bins by the sink as well as the main door leading to the washrooms, very considerate for those who wish to open the door with the paper towel on the way out. I would love to try a pasta next time.
