I think I first heard about the Blue Man Group when I was a young teen. We were in Las Vegas, and I think we decided to see a show by Circ Du Soleil instead. My dad was the one who got to make the decision, but I also think at the time the Blue Man Group was more expensive which was probably one of the motivating factors. We were given free tickets by the New England USO which was awesome, and we made a date night of it by making a dinner reservation at Ostra down the street. We also took advantage of the discount rate for the parking garage and made that parking reservation online for like $10. When we arrived, there was a waiting line outside for people to get wanded and get bags checked. I thought it was interesting there was a guy in the line ahead of us who freaked out because he either had drugs or a weapon with him and made a big stink that he was going to be searched before he and his party could go in. Humans. Once inside, we made our way upstairs and to our seats. We are giants, and found the seats to be extremely squished and uncomfortable. The others next to us were so close, we all got super warm just by simple proximity. The show was inventive and unique. We found it very clever, and enjoyed it overall. I did feel like some of it was a bit bland and dragged out, but for sure I'm glad that we didn't sit in the "poncho section" where they literally turned the hose on them. It did feel like there was a mix of adult and juvenile humor, and it was very loud. The facility itself was nothing special, and the bathrooms were direly small for how many people it serves. The addition of multiple bars was smart, but I didn't see really that many people drinking at this particular show. I'm not sure that I would have paid full price for this show, but for the free tickets, it was a worthwhile experience. It might be that it has been playing for so long, it is a little overplayed. That said, it was a good date night, and we enjoyed ourselves.

Visited the blue man group show in boston on my trip to us. What i liked: -very interactive -more of an experience than a show -great for a night out with friends or with kids However, i nearly fell asleep. Apart from some man in blue drumming, it did not really entertain me. Luckily show is only 1.5hrs.

Ron C. (Hi RONNNN!!!!) made me write a review for this even though I saw this years ago, since he just went to see the one in Vegas. So here I am, writing a review for something I did years ago...weird. Sorry peeps. Anyway, I took my husband (at the time, he was my boyfriend) to see this show after I took him to a very expensive dinner in Boston's Little Italy (the North End) and we loved it! We got great seats in the house and I don't think you can get a bad seat since it's almost like stadium seating. I had my husband's name on the marquee to shout him out for his birthday and of course, they teased him and said "Happy 7th Birthday, to Keith W" haha. The show was phenomenal and you're on the edge of your seat the entire time! The beats were great and it was hilarious as well as creative! I would recommend seeing it more than once and if you're up in the front row, make sure you tie your poncho on tightly, you wouldn't want paint on your clothes, it takes forever to scrub it off. In the end, I love how the toiley paper started unraveling and we're just pulling on it and by the end of the show, there's tons and tons of toilet paper in the stadium, it was a great laugh. We were lucky enough to grab a picture with my husband's favorite Blue Man.

Total disappointment. I saw this group in Chicago about 10 years ago and it was excellent. The Boston theater was small, the rain jackets were a waste of time, there was too much wasted time wondering in the audience and not enough of the drum and paint splatter. It was really geared down for children, and it actually reminded me of a children's TV program. $200 down the drain!

Went because husband wanted to go, I enjoyed it more than i thought I would, it's really a children's show in my opinion, but great fun all the same. Some good skills on show, and very slick skits. It was a fun way to spend a bitterly cold afternoon. Be on time as late comers get to star in their own 'you're late' limelight.

With around 80-100 seats, the show was pretty intimate and fun. I love how their performers were able to adjust to and roll with each audience's feedback...and many times, returned with even funnier responses. It does take a talented crew to be able to work together and do a bit of improv to keep the audiences highly engaged and I definitely thought the team of performers I saw did such a fantastic job that night. I honestly went in without much expectations but definitely came out really happy that I got to see thus show. Many audiences felt the same as well. P.S. restrooms are underground and behind the stage...so you may not be able to get in there until they start letting the audiences in. Also, they have a bar downstairs so you can enjoy your show with your fav drinks, too.

This was less drumming, less paint banging, less audience interaction. It's not to say what they did they didn't put effort forth. It's to say that Chicago did it better. The cast members walked around afterwards. You could take photos with them . The travelling show in RI did it better. If you stick around you need to make some changes, keep people coming back.
