This review is for LUZIA: A waking dream of Mexico | Cirque du Soleil and not Cirque du Soleil in general. First time to a Cirque du Soleil performance and didn't know what to expect. Came here on opening day with the Yelp Squad. I. Was. A. Kid. In. A. Candy. Store. Everything was new. Everything was exciting. The shows may be generalized into aerobatic, aerial, and circus performances, with a twist. Live music accompanies most of them. Part of it reminded me of Fuerza Bruta. Part of it reminded me of the Once popular, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus (without the animals). There are different bands that performs, a solo operatic singer, and meanwhile, creatures walking amongst while they perform. The second night I went (the night after the first), we had VIP seating and ate in the VIP section. The food was phenomenal. There was tacos, guac, Hors d'oeuvres of sashimi, shrimp, and steak. Endless champagne, beer, and wine. Private bathrooms. A gift bag at the end of the night. Parking closest to the gate. This was the first Cirque du Soleil and it got me hooked. I took family to see "Twas The Night Before" Cirque du Soleil in Boston on Dec 2, 2022. It was a huge disappointment after I had built up the magic of Cirque du Soleil to them. It lacked the exhilarating and spectacular performances of any of the other shows I have seen. Performances were limited to two arial performers, one juggler and a few acrobatics with hoops. The costumes were primarily bland pajamas with a set of performers in sparkling soldier uniforms. The plot was dull and perhaps geared towards children, those of whom were sitting in surrounding seats had fallen asleep half way through the performance. After half the show of waiting for the non existent excitement to happen, we just wanted it to be over. read more

Came here with my boyfriend tonight and we had an amazing time! I loved the Mexican theme, and they stayed very true to it, with the costumes, set, music, and speaking only in Spanish. The singing was beautiful, as was the high production value set design with amazing waterworks. The acts were also solid. My favorite was the contortionist. The show is about two and a half hours including intermission. read more

This was my first time seeing cirque du soleil show and wont be my last. I loved it. So professional, beautiful stage element, wonderful lights and sounds, beautiful customes, amazing performance that leaves you in awe and wanting to be an acrobat. As mentioned, the water element is beautiful, apparently they purchased it with a hefty price but makes great visuals. Along with the mexican theme, all the songs were spanish. We were sort of sitting in the middle row but no problem seeing whatsoever. One of the player engaged the front row audience quiet a bit with games. We were there for the grand opening, so we got free wine, popcorn, tacos, icecream, free poloroid picture, souvenirs (butterfly or little red ball for the nose haha), and some flowers as we left. I went to the show using uber and back using the T and saw so many people holding the flower which made immediate connection that lead to discussion of the show. I still keep the dry flower as a souvenir. I loved it and will make sure to watch all of their other shows as well. Definitely five star experience and time. read more

This show was fantastic when I saw it a year ago in Chicago, and it is once again amazing after seeing it at the premiere in Boston. The show is enchanting and captures the audience with every act. You have a mix from exhilarating hoop diving hummingbirds to moonwalking freestyle football players.To a trapeze and Cyr wheel artist, to puppeteers. Oh and don't forget the clown. Although Cirque Du Soleil is a circus without animals, you do not need any when you experience the world of Cirque underneath the yellow and white big top tent. The big top (also known as the Grand Chapiteau) invites you into the world of Luzia the moment you enter through its doors. The range of acts keeps you on your toes as the adrenaline races through your blood while you experience what is happening in front of your eyes on stage. The cast includes a juggler who not only juggles pretty darn fast but he can juggle seven clubs at once, and yes you did read that right. I love the fact that Cirque Du Soleil still gives animals a place in this show - but do not worry it is not a real animal, they have amazing puppeteers who take form as a horse and a lion. This show takes a circus show to new heights with a 360-degree swing, aerial straps, Russian swings and a skydiving clown. The music is different than other shows I have seen, it has a good tempo that keeps it light and upbeat which is fitting for the show as you go on a journey through a Waking Dream of Mexico. The best surprise of this show is the water component they add into it, but I won't spoil it for you. Oh and I hope that you're okay with flexibility since their cast includes the most flexible man in the world as people are left in amusement and wonder if he has any bones. If you have a chance to catch the show under the big top - it is a great way to spend the evening with friends, family, or a date night. There are also VIP options and VIP Rouge which come with a price tag to pay - but if you have the money I suggest it. VIP has a private terrace and bathroom, they have great appetizers served, views of the big top tent and you can enjoy champagne or a Moscow mule inside or outside. There is also a private gift shop and a photo opportunity with some fun LUZIA signs. The VIP Rouge option is one step above a VIP which gives the privileges of the terrace and free parking with a tour of the backstage artist tents and having the chance to meet some of the artists. Although it is the most expensive ticket option for the show - if you love Cirque and want a one of a kind experience this is your chance. Both VIP & VIP Rogue guests get a free little goodie bag from Cirque with some LUZIA goodies before they enter the big top for act II. read more

Always an amazing show- the Canadians know how to do it all with style & class. Live music, dazzling stage & the actors/acrobats/talent are always A+! This years show "Luzia" has a Mexican flare and uses a water component that will blow you away. Sat 3rd row from the front and felt like I was in the show. Worth every dime a must see! read more
