I declined, the technician called his manager, and the manager instructed him not to proceed. No fees were charged. The technician apologized that this policy was not disclosed when I scheduled the appointment. This was unprofessional and felt like a bait‑and‑switch. A diagnostic visit should not turn into a hard sell on the doorstep without clear disclosure up front. I will not use Chesapeake Electric again and I would not recommend them. They were a huge waste of time.

When the newly installed dishwasher lost power after a short initial run, it looked like the…read moreproblem was with the dishwasher alone. Then we found three of our kitchen outlets out. If we called the people who installed the dishwasher, it's likely they'd blame the house's wiring. So we looked for an electrician to find out what's happening. We ended up called Kolb. Yes, we saw the not so good reviews of this business. But we were fortunate. The electrician who came out was Jason P. and he did a great job. I have no other experience with Kolb, so the quality might depend upon the job and the the electrician who comes out. He found that the dishwasher had a wiring problem which kept tripping one of the GFI (ground fault interrupter) outlets in the kitchen, knocking out the circuit for the dishwasher and the three outlets. Jason fixed the dishwasher wiring connection to the circuit. He also replace the GFI outlet that was going out. (He gave me the choice if I wanted to replace the outlet or take a chance that it would properly once the dishwasher was fixed. I chose to replace it to be on the safe side.) Since Jason was here, we decided to check three other outlets elsewhere in the house. It was good that we did. One of the outlets was broken inside and presented an electrical arcing and fire risk. When finished, all outlets were working correctly. The total cost for this work was reasonable. No cheap like the jack of all trades handyman but we are more confident of the work and accountability.

He also replaced several outlets that were non- functional. Some needed a secure panel of replacements on numerous outlets. .
