    Steak sandwich and nuggets.
    Steven M.

I had absolutely no idea this town existed until we took the back roads from Big Bear Lake back to Los Angeles a few weeks ago. When we entered the small town of Blue Jay I was pretty excited since I'm a life long Toronto Blue Jays fan and a lover of small blue birds in general. Almost as soon as you enter the town you also drive by Blue Jay Burger and that was enough for us to pull the car into the drive through and take a gander at the menu. This place looks like a pretty typical fast food establishment with burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, and the beverages to help wash them all down. Now, I don't remember the name of the sandwich I ordered but it doesn't seem to be on the restaurants website so I'll just throw out a a description. I didn't order a burger, I ordered a sort of stank sandwich between a burger patty and the sandwich itself was pretty solid. The sandwich had lettuce and tomato on it and did the job. The french fries were also solid, being lightly crispy and having solid flavour. The funniest thing I ate at this place was the chicken nuggets which were ALMOST indentical to a McDonald's McNugget from the shape to the flavour, but hey, no complaints from this guy. Overall, I'm sure Blue Jay Buger is a great place to have if you live in a town like Blue Jay. This fast food shop offers some local community flavour instead of the copy and paste chains most places have and that's certainly not a bad thing. Although this wasn't the best of anything I've ever had, it was a solid spot for a quick lunch before we were back on the road. Is it worth stopping by? I think so, it's always nice to grab some food off the beat and path and experience some small town flavour.

    Cowboy burger

Stopped by the drive-thru to check out the burgers. We both had the cowboy burgers; Onion rings, bacon, cheese, BBQ sauce, and small fries, it was $27 ouch!!! Burger was not seasoned, tasted bland, similar to a frozen patty from a flat top, also undercooked with pink in the middle. Not bad, not good, but not great, definitely not worth $27 bucks! Maybe $10? Doesn't take much to improve a burger folks, and for that price? Come on now.

Beyond patty add pineapple add jalapeños so Yummy!

I'll start with the bad, on the outside its like a fresh, red, and juicy apple, but apples can be decieviving, and this one was. To me the interior was very subpar and lacked that "woods-cabin-lake-vibe". I would have preferred it to match the aesthetic of the forest which sorounds it. I really just think more care could've been put into the interior design. Now onto the food. The sandwiches felt like my mother packed them. I definitely felt the love but you know moms, flavors not always there. But here's Peter John Leesons v's little secret, you got to add pickled jalapeño's and not just on deli sandwiches but everything!!! I got the veggie sandwich with chaddar cheese‍. The veggies came super fresh and the lettuce had a very nice crunch to it. This sandwich sounds good so far, right? WRONG!!! As fantastic as the veggies were, the bread was genuinely low quality and that is just not optimal for a good sandwich. Bread is the corner stone to a high quality sandwich and thats what I felt was really lacking. As a suggestion, I think if you asked the wonderful employees to toast your sandwiches it would be a lot better. Speaking of those kind and welcoming employees, their service really made this experience for me. The sweet woman behind the deli counter seemed incredibly locked in‍ and got our sandwichs out in record time. This quality service continued to the check out counter, where I met my charmingly awkward cashier. Overall, I will say that the cedar glen fine foods market is not bad especially for those looking for a cheap affordable sandwich, it just needs some aesthetic elbow grease (of course referring to the interior). One suggestion I have is to make the food racks wood and paint the walls a more in inviting color!!!! thank you devoted for your time and love Peter John Leeson V Signed out

Walking in yesterday, it was such a good-vibe, welcoming place. There was sunshine coming through the large windows and color all around. Our waitress was warm and welcoming as well as on top of our dining needs, even as it got busier. We 4, two of us being vegetarians, each found something delicious to enjoy. I got the BAT Omelette, which was generous with cheese, avocado, bacon, and as a delightful switch up, cherry and grape tomatoes. The presentation was a feast for the eyes, with its dainty and colorful flower petals on top. In fact, all dishes were beautifully presented. I ordered fruit instead of potatoes, which was enough to share. My mom found her bagel and lox delectable and a large enough portion to take 1/2 home. Friends found vegetarian enjoyment in the Goat omelette and the breakfast sammie. They were both well pleased with bellies full. All of us were happy brunchers ! As we dined, the place welcomed a steady stream of guests, both inside and out, which is furry best friend welcoming. So, on Sundays, come early. Our waiter could not have been nicer. I wish I could remember his name. He was so kind and eager to make our visit a good one. We started with the deep fried mushrooms which were good, but a little too heavily battered for my taste. They came with 2 dipping sauces, a spicy aoli style and an Asian chili sauce (sweet). I had the grilled salmon with lemon caper sauce. It came with your choice of 2 sides. I got the fully loaded baked potato and steamed vegetables. My meal was delicious and a large serving that I could not finish. Good value at $24. My husband got the ribeye with herb roasted potatoes and a salad. The salad was large and fresh with plenty of carrots and tomatoes. The herb roasted potatoes were delicious, but I would definitely get the fully loaded baked potato again. My husband said his ribeye was delicious and cooked exactly as he asked (medium). I had a martini which was a generous pour and the bartender even hand-stuffed some olives with blue cheese for me which was really kind as the bar was quite busy. The atmosphere was great - filled with people enjoying themselves dining, talking, and laughing. Restrooms were spacious and clean. My only complaint was that the seats were hard wood. It would be nice to have cushions of some sort, but that won't stop us from coming back for the good food & drinks, and great service at lake arrowhead sports grill and bar!

This was hands down one of the best burgers and malts I've ever had. The burger was fresh, juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right. Every bite tasted like it was made with care instead of rushed out of the kitchen. Then came the malt, thick, creamy, and packed with flavor. It was the perfect classic pairing with an already incredible burger. One of the coolest touches is how they name many of their burgers after classic cars. It's a fun, nostalgic theme that fits the old-school malt shop atmosphere and gives the menu a personality you don't see very often. Great food, friendly service, and a unique experience make this place well worth the drive. I'll definitely be coming back to work my way through the rest of those "car" burgers. Highly recommended!

I really wanted to get the double bacon cheeseburger with extra bacon, but after talking to the waitress, she recommended if I'm not that big of an eater, to go with a single. Let me tell you the single is very filling. If you have a huge appetite, Then go with the double. The burgers here are very well endowed and will not leave you craving for more. I look forward to stopping by this establishment again whenever I'm in Lake arrowhead. They have a cool retro theme seating area, reminds me of an old diner. We figured a nice deli would be a good spot for lunch. At first, we weren't sure if the business was already closed for the day because all of the tables outside were already put away and the windows looked dark. We walked in and it was almost full. There are many typical options from the deli shop such as sandwiches, salads, soups, half and half combos, etc. There were also specials on the wall such as spaghetti. Steven ordered the BLT with Mac salad (the bacon looked nice and crispy, which is perfect) and I had the half soup and half sandwich. I ordered split pea soup which ended up being full of flavor and delicious. You only get three sandwich options of you do the half and half. (I forgot what the other two were) But I had the cold turkey. I didn't expect much from a cold turkey sandwich but I was impressed. It tasted fresh and delicious. The staff was great. They are all constantly helping each other and the gentleman who was helping serve had me chuckling numerous times with silly jokes or comments. I would definitely come back here if I'm back in the area.
