Having a vacation home on the eastern side of Lake Arrowhead, I've passed by this Jensen's many times on my way through Blue Jay but hadn't visited until this weekend. I was shocked at the actual square footage of this store as it looks much smaller from the street. Additionally, I never noticed they have a Starbucks within. Initially I only intended to stop in for a meager bag of tortilla chips, but I soon found myself walking other aisles just to peruse the variety of goods available. There's a full-service bakery with an impressive display case near the entrance (adjacent to the Starbucks), and the steaks at the meat counter were equally attractive. The deli section was doing a good business with several people in line for sandwiches, and I noticed a hot soup station, as well. I hate shopping at Lake Arrowhead village on weekends due to the traffic and, though this Jensens was doing a very brisk business, the ease of parking is so much better. I have been relying on the little market in Cedar Glen (a former Jensens, ironically) for emergency "basics, " but it's nice to know there is a larger, better-stocked, option available a short five miles distant. read more

I just love this market!! We decided to spend Thanksgiving in Lake Arrowhead and honestly I had no clue what I was going to do for dinner at our AirBnb... Jensen's Foods was about 10 minutes away and was open on Thanksgiving Day. The store was packed but they were fully stocked with everything you could possibly need for a fabulous Thanksgiving Dinner.... They had ready made stuffing, mashed potatoes & gravy, dinner rolls, veggies, amazing pies! Hubby got 4 delicious steaks to grill for dinner and they were perfect! This store has it all, and there ample parking available. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. All employees seemed to be in a good mood working here. read more

Birthday ruined I ordered a birthday cake earlier this week and was agreed to pick it up Friday when I went in the somehow though it was supposed to be Saturday and it hadn't even been started. They had some 12" cakes so they asked me to come back in two hours. When I returned to pick the cake up it was nothing like what was discussed and they added custard which my daughter hates so from 2 o'clock until early Saturday they couldn't get the job done because they said there were other orders that had come in. We came in because of the great reviews for the ready-to-go meals, but honestly, they didn't look very fresh or appetizing in person. The deli case glass could definitely use a good cleaning--it might help the food look more appealing. That said, the employees were incredibly helpful and friendly, which we really appreciated! Shopping at this Jensen's for groceries is such a pleasure! Our second home is in Lake Arrowhead and it is always so welcoming to grab our weekend goodies at such a friendly and relaxed environment with all the best options, including organic which is very important to us. We are vegan and gluten free and were delighted to discover gluten free pretzels for the first time and they were AMAZING. When we have visitors we pick up amazing danishes and muffins at their bakery which is top notch. A new Grocery Outlet just opened a few doors down, and I hope that won't impact Jensen's. If Blue Jay lost this Jensen's it would be a terrible loss to the community for high quality food options. read more

We bought the white vanilla cake and the Oreo cupcake. They need to rename it the slap yo mama cake because this cake is so good it'll make you want to slap Yo mama. It is moist. It is white. It is scrumptious. I'll tell you right now. There's sugar cookies. The frosted ones that look cute. Those are garbage. But this cake. Oh, it is good. It is so good. You'll park across the street and devour the whole cake with your three kids while the fourth one stays asleep and you don't even try to wait that fourth one up because that's one more fork in your cake, FORK THAT!!!! I love the meat market at this grocery store - their ribeye is about the best you've ever had I promise you that. A little kosher salt and about 5 or 6 minutes a side on a hot Weber grill and you'll see what I mean! The butcher, Trevor, was super cool, too, and it's just a great little market. Got our wedding cake from Jensen's and was overjoyed with how it turned out. Most definitely the best wedding cake i've ever had! Went with simple flavors, white cake with chocolate mouse filing, covered in classic buttercream! I wanted more!!! The design was simple but exactly what we wanted.. got some flowers from them as well and decorated the cake with baby's breath. Thanksgiving meal was ordered for me from my son. As I went in for my 10:00 pickup I had to go to the deli for some of my dinner then over to the meat to get my uncooked turkey then over to bakery to pick up my rolls and apple pie which was labeled wrong because it was an fact a peach pie. Deli and bakery dept didn't even know my name or the order number so I had to show them my phone to show them what was ordered. I really do enjoy the quality of the food however let's hope they pick up their service before Christmas dinner is ordered. I won't be ordering from them any longer because it was so unorganized however I will stop in for a few things here and there. read more

I stayed up here for a month. Everyone here was really friendly. In the summer if you go on Friday or Saturday they do BBQ. The sausage is really good. There's a bakery. I like the selection. I bought a loaf of La Brea Italian bread. But in 3 days of being stored in a cool dry place it was already moldy, and it was $2 more than you'd pay in LA. Today I thought I was getting chocolate cookies with white chocolate chips. Surprise, there's raisins in them...and walnuts. Just why? This coming from someone who likes oatmeal cookies too, but come on. Terrible combination. Normally I wouldn't leave a review about it, but even being from LA and being used to spending $9 on some grocery store cookies, make them taste good. The prices are really inflated compared to say Sprouts, and it's for things that should be cheap. Small bottle of bleach $6. Come for the BBQ, go to Stater for the rest. read more

Also, the staff at the bakery is ALWAYS friendly and kind and go out of their way to help! I hope grocery outlet finally puts this place out business! The Starbucks is all they have going for them and even then only a few select know how to make the drinks good. Workers are so unbelievably rude and unhelpful. Not to mention half the staff looks like they don't shower. The fridges are never cold I go home with soggy and warm products. Ridiculous! Jensen's Bakery made the stress of finding and ordering a wedding cake a breeze. I was so pleased and felt well-taken care of by Deena during the ordering process. She understood our vision and even had me text her a picture of an example so they could try to get close to that look - and they NAILED it. The pricing is dead on and much better than bougie bakery options in the area, and the quality was amazing. One of the best tasting chocolate cakes I have ever had. The only negative was that we had to call the bakery on the day of, as the cake hadn't arrived by its scheduled time - but it was all ready to go but just missed the delivery truck! So an amazing associate drove it down in person to our venue - truly saved the day and went above and beyond. Our cake was gorgeous, delicious, and perfectly priced and served all out guests. Custom cakes may be ordered. Sampled a custom decorated cookie-at Jensen's. Presented "ideale" and chosen for "gift giving" in wax pink bag. In town celebs discovered (Hi David Vail) and lines are never long. Remain appreciative of "sélectionner" offerings thus far. Condolences to the seeing-eye dog programs & all the programs who work so hard to test puppies & then spend countless hours training them to perform tasks of daily living that allow the disabled to live independently in our community. YES Jensen's staff have the legal right to ask for certificates that dogs are certified Service Dogs & not Companion animals or pets. The customer service sucks. Bought some overpriced, crappy-made-in-China boots for my kids to play in the snow. Turns out they run way small. Brought them back within 15 minutes. The manager told me they don't take any exchanges due to COVID. Fine. Can I get a discount on the next pairs? No. We don't do that. Cool. Go find two bigger pairs. Get to counter and the cashier asks me how I'm doing. I tell her pretty terrible and give her a brief review of the experience. She goes on to tell me that it says right on your receipt that all sales are final. I said oh awesome so right after you take my $60 then I can see that. That's helpful. Then this lady starts complaining, 'Well if you think you're having a bad day....' and proceeds to yarn about how many hours she's working and that it's busy non-stop and one cashier is home sick. I said, 'Shit! Sounds like you're killing it. You're employed AND making overtime. That's bad ass. Lotta people would lOVE to be working right now and damn you're getting time and a half on top. Granted that non of us have had an easy winter up here in 2023 but there are some alarming things going on at this store. 1) the prices have been inflated to almost predatory levels. Especially when one considers the closing of Goodwin's in Crestline. For example a box of Quaker's Instant Apple and Cinnamon Oatmeal is 6.99 here, more than double the cost of the same box at Target, and two dollars more that Stater Brothers 7 minutes away. The prices are simply out of control. 2). There is an organic turkey frozen in the Frozen aisle that has been there since early November 2022. To put this in perspective, in a few days it is August 2023. One of the other turkeys they didn't sell 9 months ago was thawed, quartered and repackaged for sale. It is marked up a ridiculous amount, about $16 more than what you would pay for the organic equivalent breast at Whole Foods (with the Stater brothers being conventional). 3) A stroll down the bread isle will show you several loafs at their last expiry date or perhaps the date before. 4) their produce is not looked after, I went searching for Blackberries and each of the packages was moldy. I appreciate that they may be in financial problems but I feel this is no way to treat the community. read more

Finally, after giving them many chances, I decided to write this review, and it's not a good one. They are the highest priced store you will find anywhere in the area, but the quality of their items is not high. I have even seen expired items for sale. I went there to get some thing that they normally have and they didn't have it. So you can't even tell if they're going to have some thing, even though it is totally overprice anyway. This review is for the floral department. I have family in Lake Arrowhead and from time to time have Jensen's arrange some bouquets for delivery. I found out that some of the online services like FTD or TeleFlora (not completely sure) use them but calling them gets better flowers and service I think. The website has lots of options for delivery and all occasions. I usually call in and talk to someone directly to go over options and whats fresh in stock at the time. They are really helpful and friendly over the phone. I can start from scratch or order from online items and they get a beautiful flower arrangement delivered fast. They have even do same day delivery. They are local in Blue Jay sot the deliveries are fast and they know the area. I will continue to call in to get that personal service and I can follow up on the results if needed because there is an actual person there helping out. I am please with the flowers too. read more

First time in Arrowhead. We stayed in a cabin with an awesome lake view so we wanted to eat in. Saw Jensen foods and decided to check it out. Wow first they had a great Wine selection. Then we hit their Deli it to had lots of fresh items. Got there loaded baked potatoes. Best I ever had. Great friendly sera's as well. Been back twice so far this visit read more

The bakery at Jensens is great. It has everything you could want, from muffins to cakes. They also have the only Starbucks on the mountain, which has great service and makes drinks pretty fast. The deli counter also has great service, really nice people who get the cheese and meet fast. When I checked out, the employees were super helpful and nice. Great place. read more

great specialty selection, surprisingly good ethnic foods sections, nice selection of gourmet sauces, breads, and healthy gluten-free snacks. be prepared for a markup here! but i enjoy the wide aisles and wider selection vs the cramped stater bros aisles that require you to squeeze past everyone you pass and only have a single corner for asian goods. the meat counter also provided my partner some excellent recommendations for beef stew cuts, and we picked up probably the best ground pork we've had in a while (we cooked it into into a wonderful soup with bok choy). the flat brisket here is amazing but be prepared to spend $40+. we got 3 nice dinners out of that one brisket and it was a lovely date night treat. read more

Love Jensen's. The meat counter is incredible, the deli really delicious, and the bakery sweet. Lots of freshly made foods there: breads, cookies, deli sandwiches and salads. They have fresh sushi. There's a beautiful florist Dept there too and I have seen some incredible arrangements leaving the store. The BBQ is usually fresh on the weekends in the summer. Jensen's houses the only Starbucks up here (maybe one in Big Bear?) and the line is usually out the door; your app won't work at this one so prepare to be patient. The worker's at Jensen's are nice so if you're out of town, please be nice as they work very hard and it really is a beautiful store with the best produce, selection and location up here. It rivals a Gelson's or Whole Foods but adds mountain charm. read more

it was good the first visit, second visit not so much first visit i got a few basics while visiting the area the prices were worth the convenience and staff was friendly. the second, most recent, visit was abysmal. when checking out, not sure what was going on, but the bagger had asked a question extremely quickly, and when i asked for clarification, the bagger just left. i was taken aback and reached over for my bags to bag my own items. the cashier was rude when i pulled out my ebt card. upon swiping a saw a usual screen on the card terminal and clicked through. then after some waiting i was asked on the terminal "balance" and "payment" i asked the cashier and they replied "well you don't want to know your balance, do you?" i guess i had a bit of a brain fart but the cashier wasn't accommodating. i clicked through, apologized and said ive never been asked that, and the cashier sympathized. i'm glad the cashier was nicer right before i left but overall, what a strange experience... otherwise, the stock was great, lots of options and very comparable prices. my cart was ~$80 for an overflowing basket of items. satisfied with the prices and cleanliness of the store :-) service leaves to be desired but i hope i have it in me to give another chance... eventually. read more
