I waited months and multiple visits to review this place. I really hoped it would become a good burger joint for Lake Arrowhead but it just will never be that. The workers that they have hired / owners do not care about the quality of food or service. The final straw for me was this last trip where I ordered a chocolate milkshake. Mmmm! I decided to have my "last hoorah" meal before going on my 4 month strict health kick at Blue Jay Burger. Great choice! First I will admit that I am a condiment queen and I also owned a multi site food service company for many years before moving to Lake Arrowhead. Here goes - The fries were coated, seasoned and perfectly cooked...no need for adding salt or ketchup. The Cheeseburger was perfect. This is the first time that I added absolutely nothing to my burger. No need for extra anything when it was already perfectly delicious!!! Bacon Ranch Grilled Chicken Sandwich was fresh and again, delicious! The onion rings we so yummy and the strawberry shake had that quintessential strawberry shake flavor with bits of strawberries and topped with whipped cream. My only criticism would be the soda sized straw that came with my shake...which is pretty minor in my book. Im pretty picky about eating out because I can usually make it better at home but Blue Jay Burgers is an excellent option for a quick and very tasty meal or treat! read more

So iv been to there and truth be told they ar not following covid-19 registration on cleaning they don't clean the tables at all and the bathrooms are disgusting when I walk in the bathroom it smelled so fuucking bad that I almost threw up in my own mouth. I'm local to the area and I've tried multiple times to give this place a chance and after today I will not be returning. My husband attempted to get breakfast burritos and they were closed. He went back later and was informed that they no longer have breakfast, but it remains on the menu. He ordered a BBQ burger, beyond burger, fries and onion rings. He returned home to find that the beyond burger was not in the bag. He returned and asked for a partial refund for the inconvenience, due to the fact that the rest of our food would be cold when he got home. They informed him that they do not refund and offered him $1.00. Our food is soggy and cold, very disappointing when you try to support a local business. read more

I swear to everyone on my life that McDonald's is not only better, it's cheaper too. I've been here four times since opening. The first week the food was decent, but since then it seems as if the quality has steadily gone down hill. The burger I got was grey- as if it were boiled meat or some such. The spicy chicken sandwich looks (and tastes) exactly like a McDonald's crispy chicken sandwich. The tomatoes are a pale pink color. It's TRULY A SHAME THAT THIS PLACE TOOK OVER A MCDONALDS LOCATION AND CAN DO NO BETTER. Having nestle products on the menu is a slap in the face to every resident that lives here being as though it's a point of contention with the locals since nestle has been (and found guilty of in the past 2 months) violating their agreements and siphoning off way more water from our natural resources than permitted while leaving a quake of pollution behind. I'm hoping this place goes out of business and a more deserving enterprise takes its place. read more

Ive tried a number of times to like this place since it's the only drive through in Blue Jay. I'm not sure but it might be the worst fast food restaurant I've ever eaten at. The hamburgers taste just ok but the ingredients just don't seem fresh and appealing at all. Buns are often burnt and fries and onion rings are drowned in oil and tasteless. The service can't seem to get my order correct and the staff seems defensive about any complaints. I wont be stopping there again. read more

After an incredibly long drive up SoCal coming from San Diego my family was dying to grab a bite for lunchtime and low and behold we stumbled upon this shit show. The fries were LUKEWARM by the time we received our order and my younger sister's burger bun seemed to be drenched in cheap, disgusting oil and scorching with burn marks. The burgers were okay but ultimately subpar and disappointing compared to many local fast food and burger establishments that I've grabbed food from in the past half-a-decade. I recommend grabbing something to eat at the Mcdonald's right next to Lake Arrowhead or at the local supermarket instead considering that the quality and the taste of the food here is at best... mediocre and may be frozen (not fresh). And that is saying a little too much even after they managed to screw up a 12 year old's burger patty on a nice family trip. read more

(This is a service review only). I was excited to try the new restaurant in town and went to order some breakfast. Got in the drive-thru line at 9:40am on a Sunday. There were a handful of cars in front of me, so I figured I had plenty of time to reach the service window by 10, when they stop serving breakfast. Well, the line was extremely slow. Fast forward to 9:55 and there are still a couple cars in front of me. Surely if I'm a couple minutes late they'll understand. No one is in line at 9:55 on a Sunday morning to order lunch, right? It's 10:05 when I get to place my order. After a pause, the employee apologizes and tells me they're no longer serving breakfast. I said, "Oh come on! I've been in line for 25 minutes! Please!" No luck. I didn't want a hamburger or a chicken sandwich at 10am, so I got out of the line. It's not the employee's fault, but management would be wise to show some flexibility to customers when the service is unreasonably slow. Ended up going to Jensens and making breakfast (and angry mimosas) at home. Moral of the story: go inside. Don't waste time in the drive thru. read more

Being a part-timer here, I was really excited about a burger joint being so close to my home. We have plenty to choose from down the mountain, but couldn't wait to try this place out. Unfortunately, this place fell far short of my expectations. I had the Cowboy burger and the meat seemed to have been sitting for some time and over-cooked. Besides that, there was one onion ring and one piece of bacon that was cut in half. Little sauce that made the burger so dry. I would like to give it another opportunity, but I won't be ordering the Cowboy. Fires and onion rings were actually pretty good. So, there is potential for improvement. read more

Overall bad experience. When they had their grand opening- it was like night and day- the food was great and it felt they got a good thing going. But now, they are understaffed and the employees there now are inexperienced high schoolers. For example, we were on line, no kidding, for 35minutes before it was our turn to reach the window. During that timeframe 3 cars in line left.... and even this one car in front of us had disputed something on their receipt and pulled to the side to wait for something. Well, a young lady came to the window and asked what we ordered (lol....) and then gave us the fish and chips, took my card, ran the card and said that they have no unsweetened tea (why did you run my card first, causing me to pay for something you don't have before saying that?). So I was charged with a drink I am not getting. When I explained to her "am I gettin my money back for the drink" she said "she can't do that" I then said that makes no sense, and we just don't care anymore- please just give us the food and we will eat the cost. She he fussed off to the back.... At that time we just wanted this whole awful experience to go away-- so she comes back with then manager (another 5 mins wasted) and the manager said he will see what he can do but we just wanted to go lol. Well another co-worker gives us the remainder of the order but they forgot the shake- and the co-worker looked at their end and said "no he didn't order any shake" (um. He explicitly did... lol) So they basically messed up the order- but all they would had to do was say "oh we are sorry about the troubles, we can make the adjustments now with the order and have the shake sent out." Instead, the customer service was unprofessional and tacky. As they were trying to say the manager will be back (again for another 5minutes causing the cars behind us to wait more)- we just left, done with this place for good. When we got home we found out that they didn't replace the fries for the fish and chips with the onion rings- no they had us pay for the fries and on-top pay for onion rings and there was no tartar sauce/vinegar provided as advertised. Horrible horrible place. Wished McDonald's didn't close down that location. Sad. read more

We had take out from Blue Jay Burger within three days of their opening. The line was long, the burger, a mess wrapped in paper, the fries sprinkled over the paper wrapped burgers loose in the same bag. At home unwrapping, burgerslide central (when the top half of the sandwich is on the run from the bottom half) No pickles at all let alone extra pickles on either burger. i don't know why they even bothered putting the paper french fry holder in the bag if the fries were just gonna be dumped in anyway! All that said... the flavors were on point, so we decided to let that first pitch go by and see what the second one looked like... Today the packaging improved from a bag to small box, that neatly and securely held my two burgers and fries in place as I twisted up the road home. Upon arrival the food was still warm and smelled great! The jalapeño burger was delicious and spicy, held up well in my ravenous claws, and had a perfect cook on the burger. The double cheeseburger with extra pickles was pickle filled and also had the perfect structural integrity you expect from a well made burger. The seasoning on the fries is great and they were cooked well. Very happy they dialed everything in. Overall, better than In N Out, don't know if I'd wait in that line on the weekend though! read more

My husband and I just tried it for the first time. I had a freshly grilled chicken sandwich that was so good I wolfed it. My husband had a cheeseburger and said it was good . He wolfed his too. The onion rings were on the greasy side, however. We will try the fries next time. We will be eating there regularly for sure.
