(Similar to Korean style gel if you're familiar with it). I have my own local gal I have back home but if this place was in SoCal... I t'd give so many places a run for their money!! Owner (or host?) was so professional, kind and wonderful and sets the tone. The inside of the salon is not only beautiful and clean but a bonus with its high ceilings. And most importantly, a great selection of quality color and service available. We did a walk in on a Wednesday afternoon with no appointment and the three of us were able to get sat immediately after choosing our colors. I'm in my short nail era and my gal definitely delivered. My mani feels just as, if not stronger and just as thin as I get done back at home + the color work on my pedi is definitely one of the best I've received! The main reason for my lower review is that the most recent time I was in there, another customer was being... a Karen and decided her tech wasn't good enough so she took mine? Not sure how or why, but that was frustrating. Also the fact that I was left so they could accommodate someone who came after me.. mid getting my nails done was frustrating but I don't cause a scene. Also it ended up being I got rushed out of there and my nails don't look as great as they used to when I have gone previously.

The application was uneven, the edges were not cleaned up properly, and the overall quality was not what I expected for the price. I got a pedicure and manicure during my lunch break at work which usually takes an hour and 15 maybe. I had an hour and a half to burn before I had somewhere I needed to be. My pedicure came out great. I wish I remembered her name. But the name I do remember is Kim. I showed her a picture of a short clean nail as a reference of what I wanted for my mani length and shape. She gave me long, obtuse, thick, lumpy nails that a child could've done. I mean I'm telling you it is the worst nails I have ever had in my life or seen in my life. I don't like to complain so I just kept telling her that I wanted them shorter and referring to the photo. After four times of showing her the length and her still not getting them to the shortness I wanted/needed. I just said fine because I was already at the two hour mark on my nails. I checked out and explained to the register that I really did not like my hands but I had no time to fix them and I live far away so they gave me a small discount... I drove away and as soon as the sunlight hit my nails in the car I knew I had to stop what I was doing turn around and go back. I explained that these nails were not worth the $180 for manicure and pedicure that I had paid and they simply needed to be taken off or redone by someone else. Jennifer ended up taking care of my nails and did a great job, but wow if you get Kim run! While I was getting my nails fixed there was another lady getting her nails done by Kim and she had the same complaint about shape and length and I already knew what was going to happen. Moral of the story, I spent about three hours getting my nails done today and I will never cheat on Milano nail Spa in the Heights ever again.

I was asked to come back later. As a mother, I understand that a crying baby can be challenging, but babies do not always understand how to stay quiet or behave perfectly. If children are not welcome when they become fussy, that policy should be clearly communicated before customers are seated. I felt embarrassed and unwelcome, and the situation could have been handled with much more understanding and compassion. Unfortunately, this experience left me with a very negative impression of the salon.
