Blue front has some interesting choices, I'll give them that. However, you should be aware that everything is completely over priced. This is not to mention that every single craft beer that they are selling is expired. This is not a joke. If you're seeing this and planning on going take any craft beer out of the fridge and check the expiration. Granted, I know it's beer so it won't matter much but just the lack of effort from this place and considering the steep prices just don't go here. Campus corner is right across the street, go there. Enormous selection of beers. Ignore the reviews from 2007: Blue Front has changed owners since then. In 2007, it was a run-down dump that offered a typical selection of gas station/cornerstore type products. Its new owners sell beer, and lots of different kinds, more than 600 if I remember right. The interior has been completely redone: nice wooden flooring with space to roam and eyeball the variety. I was looking for an obscure beer that I hadn't been able to find elsewhere for a couple of years: Blue Front had it. Four stars for now. I'll have to go back and check out the wine selection and see if my review needs more stars. But even if they only carry Mad Dog 20/20, the beer selection alone makes this place worth at least 4 stars. read more

This place would have gotten 1 star if not for its sentimental value. Blue Front does not have the largest variety when it comes to alcohol, but it will most certainly please Freshmen who can't tell a Natty Lite from a Sam Adams. Blue Front was the first establishment I discovered while looking for fun juice when I first arrived in Michigan. I was very ignorant of the different kinds of alcohol the world had to offer so Blue Front satisfied my pregaming needs despite my sophomoric palette (if freshmanic was a word, I'd use that too). However, now that I know the difference between crap and non-crap I would much rather avoid Blue Front whenever I can. I'd much rather run across the dangerous intersection to buy my fun juice at Campus Corner. Arbor Mist and Natty Lite are fine if you're not into good alcohol. However, if you know your stuff and you want to find a place with Captain Morgan, Blue Front is not the place for you. P.S. The Blue Front seems to have recently re-opened as a much classier store than what was previously at this address. The store is immaculately clean and very well organized, and has a terrific selection of craft beers as well as mass-produced beer. The prices are a bit high but competitive compared to the other stores around Ann Arbor. I'm stuck between a 3 and 4 for this place but due to the extensive selection I gave them a four. Not the biggest selection or best prices compared to some big competitors (Binnys, Friar Tucks) its still one of the better options in Ann Arbor. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly, good selection of beer and easy layout to find what you want. If there is some hard to find beer I would try here first because if they don't have it, its likely no one else will. read more

Only place semi close to Dublin Ohio where we could get Alaskan Amber (we still honor our Alaskan roots). Fantastic selection of beer and they told us they can reserve cases of Amber if we call ahead. Worth the trip every now and then. read more

The store is beautifully remodeled and full of a fine selection of beers, (what I go there for) with a nice emphasis on Michigan brews. I don't live nearby, so I was worried about parking, but since I stop by on my way home from work, I have been able to park in the loading zone (right around the corner on Arbor St.) without incident so far...since I have always been able to get in and out within 5 minutes. My only suggestion is for them to add additional coolers. There have been a few times where I have found beer that I am looking for, but its on the shelf and not cold. read more

The staff at Blue Front can answer all of your craft beer questions, and is great at suggesting new beers based on your taste and interests. I would give my customer experience at Blue Front zero stars if I could. Bought a keg of Newcastle for a wedding reception through them and with my knowledge of keg buying limited to my college days many years ago I was not told that the tap is not of the universal type. I even asked when I picked it up if a 'regular' tap would work and was told 'yes' by the useless young man working the counter. Much to my surprise and my 100+ guests it did not work. Upon calling the store 30 minutes prior to guests arriving I was told "You bought the keg, you should know what tap it takes and was told AGAIN that all taps are the same and they would exchange the tap.... took it back, got another tap and still didn't work. Another call and the same response. "sorry, you should have known before you bought the keg". Reception was to say the least a mess as I (the grooms dad) had to run around and purchase cases of beer as guests were arriving. TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE !!! Absolutely no care for their customers, only taking your money. Very sad for an Ann Arbor institution to have lowered itself to this. read more

IF you are a beer drinker, Blue Front is the place to be. Their beer is usually cheaper and the selection is usually comparable to CC. In recent years their stock of imported and micro-brews has grown and they now carry my favorite imports. The location is perfect as well, you can grab your beer then run across the street grab some pizza at bells then head off to whatever frat or block party you wish. On top of everything the owner is a really nice guy, and doesn't give off the ex-hitman vibe the CC guys do. read more

Reopened last summer under new owners, who outdid themselves to redefine the place. Used to be a shitty party store, now the best place in Ann Arbor to buy beer. Don't come here if you're looking for a case of budlight, come here if you're looking for the best variety of excellent beer. They have a bunch of beer from all over the country and world, as well as a great selection from Michigan breweries. The owners are very friendly and welcoming, and will help you find something new to try. There is decent wine selection as well, and not your typical cheap wine.
