OK...This review is for an incident that was around 5 months ago. I reviewed it on google, but thought it important enough that it should be reviewed here too.
I have visited several of the RV dealers in the Greater Austin area. Guess, what, the reviews are for real, this place is by far the worst. It is sad because it happens to be in my town of Buda. Do yourself a favor and skip this place altogether.
In our case, the salesman conveniently glossed over the Dealer prep fee, (1195.00) they will tack this on AFTER you have completed the deal. While we were doing the back in forth with the manager, the dealer prep fee is mentioned in passing. This is a fee for filling tanks, a battery, inspection/testing, detailing, and a 30 minute demonstration. All the other dealers in the area include the exact same thing for free, or for a fee of around 400.00. I did ask the salesman one time how much the fee was, and instead of just saying its 1200 bucks (to which I would have said, good bye) he went into how its a fee that everyone gets charged and covers blah blah blah....notice no mention of fee.
The finance clerk (she said she was the manager, but the sales manager later claimed that she had no authority to represent the dealer) then attempted to "HIDE" the fee in the final sales price...they basically just added 1200 to the agreed upon price, with no mention of why the sales price had been raised. Everything else was itemized, tax, title, license, inventory tax, etc....and when I caught this,
finance intern did not have an answer as to why they didnt itemize it, or why it was conveniently hidden in the sales price. Her response, "Everyone gets charged this" I said that was unacceptable and told her that it needed to be itemized on the buyers order or taken out.
Because I was in a time crunch, I did offer to continue with the sale if they made that ridiculous charge more realistic...i offered to complete the deal if they shaved 500 off of it....Finance girl newbie said that was above her pay grade...obviously...so she would have the sales manager call me back.
To begin with, I read the other reviews of how the managers demeanors change depending on what stage of the buying process you are at...so I expected the pompous, know-it-all, douche bag and lets just say I got exactly what I expected. Instead of being customer focused, "Yes sir, lets see what we can do, Id hate to lose your business over a misunderstanding, etc" He gave me "The way I see it, you got two choices, either one is fine with me. Number one, the deal is done, you take the trailer and Im not changing anything on contract. Number two (no surprise here) I keep your 1000 dollar deposit and you can walk away from the deal. I informed him that the CC would be charged back within the hour, and he told me not to call him again. Can you believe that? I dont know what this DB's name was, but does it really matter?
As far as this dealer's holier than thou attitude...Guys, wake up , you sell trailers, you are glorified car salesmen. Your showroom is a rickety old double wide mobile home - so get a life.
As for those of you that plan on visiting this place even after all the negative reviews (Im assuming the few good reviews are either fake or just did not involve much interaction ) Keep a tight hold of your wallet. When they start asking for a deposit, they are really asking you to pay this dealer prep fee so that it is harder for you to walk away. DO NOT PAY 1200 dollars for a prep fee....call ANY other RV dealer and ask them if that is a reasonable fee....most of them will laugh, and then ask, Who is doing this? read more
