DO NOT RENT AN RV FROM THEM! This company is the absolute worst! They should have never let our RV on the road. Two of the windows on the RV literally fell onto the roadway which we were traveling. They tried to blame us for the windows falling out!!! WTF Below is the full list of issues we had with the RV: - When we left Austin the glass window fell out on bedroom window onto the roadway - On our way back to Austin, we lost a second window on the dining slide out onto the roadway - Air conditioner not working in main room, E4 error code - 24/7 support not available, voicemail box full. - Roadside assistance said they couldn't help us with any of the problems - 7' broken wood board on slideout, fell and almost hit daughter in the head - The gauge on the freshwater tank doesn't work so can't tell if there's any water or not. Only discovered on the 3rd day the tank was full of water - Water fill hose leaking at connection, spraying water all over. We couldn't use the camp site water because of issue. - Hot water doesn't work on kitchen faucet - Back up camera not working - Various windows/mechanisms broken and taped on outside with shipping tape - Broken screen door handle - No key for outside storage locks - Leg on Queen bed is loose/broken - Door on bedroom doesn't stay closed or latch - Window shade in bedroom is broken - Right rear view mirror very loose - Kitchen drawers won't stay set - Slide out panel controls are reverse - Check engine light was on the whole trip. We rent an RV every year for the F1 race in Austin. This year we decided to save on time and gas, so we drove our personal vehicle down from Michigan. I booked months in advance without any issue. I called and check in a few time over the few months the customer service was great. RV was clean and everything work as expected. I asked for an early pick up it was not problem. We were traveling through Austin for the solar eclipse and ran into some issues with our Mercedes Winnebago RV (rented from another company in LA). After numerous failed attempts to find a repair shop in Austin, I called ADV because I saw they had similar RVs for rent, as an option of last resort. I just wanted a referral for a mechanic, but Miguel said to come on by and their in house mechanic will check out our RV. I didn't expect such kindness from him. We brought the RV in the next day, and their mechanic checked it out and seemed very knowledgable. Anyone who is wiling to go out of their way to help someone without a financial incentive, deserves public praise and recognition. These folks know how to run a business. They were always available for questions, even the ones they likely went over when checking out there 32 ft. Lux RV. We had a great time traveling to see family and were able to host family over for cards and games. The RV was meticulous and came equipped with everything we requested. This was a tester for our family, we were unsure if we wanted to buy an RV this year or not. Well, these guys made it so easy we will be RV more often, but why buy when these guys make it a breeze. No need to store, clean, maintain or carry insurance not to mention the cost. We will just lease it from these guys. Thanks so much for making a long road trip very pleasant. It might be good to note that we spent about a week trying to book with two other companies, who would just not respond. Their websites said they would reply within 24 hours. The only response we ever got from one is they charged our credit card $3500.00 without confirming the reservation. The rental process was streamlined and staff was helpful. We visited beforehand to look through the units prior to renting and were able to find a nice looking Class C for our vacation. When we arrived to pick it up the unit was plugged in and the staff walked us through usage and willing to answer all our questions. On-line pictures and description did not accurately convey the condition of the vehicle. They knew we were driving a long distance but still delivered one with a drivers seat that significantly tilted to the right. Relatively unsafe to drive. They clearly placed profit over safety. It was a great rental experience. They are easy to work with. Good communication, during working hours, both before and during rental. Looked at many options for an RV over Christmas and they had a good selection (I booked several months in advance). They also didn't have a lot of hidden fees. It was very clear what the cost would be online. So clear that I was nervous, thinking there had to be a a catch. I called and spoke in person to get the details. It was as simple as the website made it. On return our contract did not change, no additional fees. They do a video before rental and after. Which worked to our advantage. There was a missing cap when we returned that we were unaware of and on review the before video had it missing as well so we were not held responsible. We did have an issue with the water pump in RV. It was frustrating but out of control of ADV. They contacted us "during working hours" to help us troubleshoot and make sure we had assistance. We had left message off hours on holiday weekend. They were clear when we picked up RV about availability only during working hours so when we had an issue on Christmas Eve we knew we had to wait till Monday. They returned our call promptly. Return was super simple, especially because we opted for upgrade of cleaning and dump fee in advance! I would not hesitate to rent from ADV again. We rented an RV from them for a week. The water pump, water heater and hydraulics failed. We had to leave our vacation destination and drive two hours to get it repaired. This major detour ruined our trip and cost us a lot of money in lost RV park fees and gas. American Dream Vacations told us we had to fill out a reimbursement form. We did. Did we get any money back? No. What we got was a coupon for a free rental for one day. Well, that works out very well for them. We'd have to pay deposits, etc., to get a free one day rental. We lost a lot of money. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience and customer service. We rented a RV vehicle that had not been inspected, which was never disclosed to us until we returned from the trip of hell. Turns out this company allowed us to take the vehicle off the lot where we began to experience breakdown after breakdown, causing us to loose money on missed reservations, forced us to be in close contact with various mechanics that this awful company put us in touch with, never apologized for their wrongdoing and instead offered us a one-day voucher for 7 days of sheer hell... such an insult. We rented a RV to AVOID people during a pandemic and instead had to have mechanics inside the vehicle on multiple occasions. It's infuriating that this company is still in business while knowingly putting people in danger with zero regrets. Don't waste your time. And good luck ever getting a hold of Kurt, the cowardly owner. He will dodge you for as long as he can and make his awful minions do his dirty work. Guy is a money-hungry crook. AVOID. read more

I recently purchased a 2019 Winnebago Motorhome and took it to RV to American Dream Vacations to have a number of items upgraded including the suspension, sound system and have an air horn added. It was about $20K of work. To say the work was shoddy would be generous. Here are a few of the issues I noted after the work was "completed": 1. I had a dash camera in the unit when I dropped it off at the dealership. The camera was apparently stolen by an employee at the dealership. 2. I was charged for "topping off" my fuel and propane yet both were only at 75% when I picked the unit up. 3. I was charged $140 for an alignment but after driving the RV a few miles I noted it was not handling correctly. I took it to an alignment shop and was told it still needed an alignment. 4. I had an "Air Horn" installed at a cost of almost $2K. Shortly afterwards I lifted the engine cover to check my oil and noted that the air horn was not properly secured to the chassis and was literally dangling under the hood. 5. I had the dealership install a stereo amplifier in the RV. The dealership rewired the power source and now the unit stays on all the time, even after i turn off all accessories in the RV. This resulted in the battery going flat almost immediately after I picked the unit up. Fortunately my RV has a switch to shut the battery down so that will be my stopgap until I have it wired correctly. There were additional issues with the RV but the owner of the shop (Trenton) wasn't willing to address/rectify anything I brought to his attention. The really amazing thing is that i let American Family Vacations sell my previous RV on consignment and they made $40K after only having my prior RV on their lot for less than 60 days. I don't typically write reviews, but this experience warrants a response, especially given the amount of money involved. I strongly recommend anyone considering patronizing this business to seek out other vendors. read more

Dear Kurt, Nice to hear from you for the first time while trying to save face publicly. Do you lie for a living or just for fun? Your response is a joke! You only dropped it once I got a lawyer and you realized you couldn't scam me out of thousands beyond the insurance claim for damage. Try again Now that our court case is over I'll write a full review. This was the most awful rental experience we have ever had. They sue for payment after being paid by the insurance. They inflate the damage to get more money from you. Our trip was a nightmare due to the RV having issues the entire time. The pictures did not match the RV we rented. The windshield and roof leaked making our drive dangerous. The Battery was defective (have photo proof that they were fixing it, buy writing on the window of the RV prior to rental) and it caused us constant issues. The Generator was underpowered and made dry camping horrible. They were aware of us dry camping, they claim to have told us that was a bad idea, they did not. He said and I quote "cool, that place sounds cool" They have tried to tell us that the issues were due to dry camping. The issues were due to an underpowered generator. We are experienced campers. The inside of the RV was in poor shape. Disgusting blinds, couches ext. The current photos of the Jayco Seneca are a fraud. Go look before committing to a rental. We didn't have time to change before our plans. Our part of the conflict. We scratched the side on trees. No problem we have insurance, right? Wrong they tried to extort money from us more than the damage, they didn't accept the insurance payment and tried to sue us for 10 grand. Absurd. That is just the amount they go for from everyone. Rent at your own risk. This company is dishonest and disgusting. Search Travis county for all of their lawsuits. This is just what they do. They have blocked me from commenting on their page because they would be exposed. Send me a PM if you need a lawyer that will put them in their place. The moment we got a lawyer and he got involved they dropped the lawsuit. I am considering taking further action. read more

We were wholly disappointed in the condition of the vehicle we rented from ADV. There were several issues that affect the real functionality of the RV: - The shower door was broken and basically inoperable, an issue staff knew about in advance. - We discovered the privacy curtain that separates the cab from the "house" wadded up in the corner of a cabinet (I'm assuming because someone was hoping we wouldn't try to use it?). It too did not function as it should - the Velcro disks it should attach to were completely worn out and did not hold. We had to either leave the house exposed through the windshield or rig up a system each night with our own rope and tape. - The side/main door to the house is broken. Like some kind of frustrating secret passageway, one must place a flat palm on a certain upper part of the door and then pull hard on the handle - again, an important piece that is basically nonfunctional if you're carrying anything at all. Another major malfunction staff noted prior to us taking the vehicle. -Additionally, the vent above the cab was broken (also noted before we left). Once you got driving, it made an unbearably loud noise which we also had to immediately rig up a stop-gap fix for ourselves. -Also pointed out when we picked up, one of the supports for the grill plate that covers the stove burners was completely missing, which too yields a loud squeak such that we had to take the whole thing all the way off and store it somewhere when driving (not easy in tight quarters). - The blinds for the window in the kitchen were also broken and inoperable (also something staff was aware of). Coupled with the multitude of unsightly dings, scratches, burn marks, and so on in the interior, this vehicle certainly did not meet our expectations for a rental. We're not talking about minor exterior scratches or little things to be documented at each pick-up (though our form to list minor things like windshield dings was so full all of the items wouldn't even fit on one sheet), nor are these things one should just expect when renting an RV versus a passenger car; these are things that are totally inoperable or missing altogether and really affect the customer's experience. These items are a combination of 1) things that a professional doing even the most cursory of inspections, cleanings, or any kind of quality check between rentals would notice or 2) things that staff is aware are broken but were not fixed before renting to us. I'm unclear why hefty security deposits are collected from customers if nothing is going to actually be repaired between rentals and the vehicle is just going to get more and more run down. On top of all that, here are specifics on the mechanical issues we encountered just 90 miles down the road on a long road trip. A warning light came on and we had to stop our trip and waste quit a bit of time getting it addressed. The mechanics technician told us that a shop doing routine maintenance at all would have been aware of the multiple error codes indicating engine misfires and that spark plugs likely needed to be replaced. A known issue we drove off ADV's lot certainly didn't make us feel very confident in even the mechanical safety of the vehicle, and I surely didn't rent from ADV in order to take my time to drive their RV to its scheduled maintenance. All in all, I was disappointed at the run down quality of RV we received given the over $2k/week we'll end up paying (and please be advised that there are unexpected charges that contradict what their website says, so ask about that when you reserve). All of these details were relayed to the owner in writing. If you're going to rent from them, allow plenty of extra time to stop, expect to do your own repairs immediately upon receiving the vehicle, and bring tools, tape, and the like. read more

I have rented from ADV several times since 2019. And while in the past I have had a good experience with easy check in and serviceable RVs. This year was very different. The RV clearly had not been maintained and we had significant issues from the very start. We couldn't get the refrigerator or lights to ever work due to the low-flat battery. The battery was NEVER able to recharge because it was damaged from draining too low. The smoke detector battery went off the first night - which means it hadn't been checked or replaced in years. And the nights it was near freezing, we were never able to turn the furnace on - although we had plenty of propane because the igniter wouldn't work due to low-flat battery. When we called for help with the battery, we were told to check the propane. Huh! The propane was full but couldn't light due to low-flat battery. Four nights camping with no lights, no heat and no refrigerator really STINKS. When we submitted a written complaint- they said the only refund if the drivetrain fails and had the gall to sent a paper certificate from a child's art project for one night certificate - NO THANK YOU. Go somewhere else, the service here STINKS! read more

This was my first time renting and pulling a travel trailer, but they made me feel completely comfortable. The walk through was perfect and they showed me the ins and outs of the trailer. I was a pro by the time they were done. Everything worked perfect in the trailer from pickup to drop off. I returned the trailer in the same condition I picked it up and got my full deposit back. I was getting it for a bachelor party so I had a ton of questions about how i would fit 7 grown men on one of these for the best price and they helped through the buying process and answered all the ridiculous questions i had leading up to the event (i called about 6 times). They went through a walkthrough of the RV to amke sure we knew how to use everything and we called another 6 times on the trip because we were drunk and forgot how to use the tv and such. Please read this review in its entirety as it will give you information that could save you thousands of dollars and save you from an extremely bad experience. My wife and I had company coming in from out of town last year and were in need of extra sleeping quarters for our guests. We found American Dream Vacations online and thought an RV rental would do the trick. One of the employees showed us the RV we would be renting and we began to look it over. It was several years old and nothing fancy, but we figured it would do the trick. We filled out the paperwork in the office and got everything in order and I then asked the rental guy "what kind of supplemental insurance do you offer?" He replied, "Oh, we don't offer insurance, we simply take a copy of your personal car insurance and that will cover anything that may happen." I assumed all was well as this was my first time renting an RV and had no experience with this. The weekend went fine with exception to an excessive amount of rain and wind. We returned the unit on Monday and an employee came outside to check us in. He went immediately to several spots on the RV and cited damage as if he already knew where to find some things he could say were damaged. He then climbed up on the roof of the thing and said, "There's a rip in the vinyl roof." I had no Idea that RV roofs were made of vinyl and assumed that they would be of a higher grade material such as metal. He told us that we should probably expect to hear from our insurance company because they were going to file a claim. We left the property and several weeks went by until we finally heard from our insurance company, Progressive, that they would not cover the damage. It was then, that American Dream Vacations turned in to the American Nightmare. They began sending threatening letters to us saying that we owed them $10,000 to fix the RV. I thought this was absurd as it was probably only worth about that. Anyways, six months later they have now officially filed suit against us for a little over $10,000. I also forgot to include that my wife and I are new parents to a beautiful baby boy. I really don't see any reason why we shouldn't just file bankruptcy at this point. What a great start at our new life. Do not rent from these people. They are crooked and will cause you an American Nightmare too. Please heed this warning. Great experience! Easy and so much fun! Reserved online, paid deposit, received all pertinent documents via email, allowing us to get familiar with the aspects of camping with an RV and picked up the rental with no issues; in and out in a flash! We rented the Vegas 24.1 RUV on June 20th and took it to the Padre Island National Seashore with 3 of our kids. Many great memories made, and a bunch of happy campers. It seems like the toilet lost its seal. But these guys weren't aware of the issue and will certainly fix it. A window cover that was broken last time had been fixed. Easy check-out and check-in. RENTER BEWARE - I highly recommend not doing business with this company. We ended up with a dud of an RV with multiple water leaks inside, a microwave that wouldn't function, A/C controls that would not maintain a comfortable temperature (kind of a problem when it's near freezing at night), sewage valves that would not stay closed (not a fun experience to deal with). We cut our trip short and returned the RV several days early. I even called them during our trip and one of their maintenance people responded to our questions about the problems with, "We don't really know much about that RV and how it works." Their idea of making it right was to offer a discount on a future rental instead of a partial refund for their horrible product. Quite arrogant to expect us to return to their business - not happening after this experience. We obviously will not be patronizing their business at any point in the future. Don't waste your money and vacation experience here - It's not a "Dream". Dealing with a busted sewage valve qualifies as more a nightmare. read more

We drove all the way up from Houston to Austin to pick this unit up, in part because of the good reviews on this site, and in part because of the outstanding experience we had with Kurt right from the get-go. He was professional, accommodating, patient and prompt at every interaction. The unit we rented was not brand ew but in good shape. There were a few cosmetic issues that were pointed out to us at the time of rental. During our ride, we did have some issues crop up, not because of any fault with the unit but because of our inexperience - we were first timers. We did have to call the office at one point, late on a Sunday afternoon, but Kurt was there and patiently guided us through the issue. Overall, outstanding experience. I went in with questions about what would be best for him to have his space and I have mine. I worked with Josh Roppolo who said he also works maintenance. He was amazing. You guys made my first-timer self feel like a confident pro as I pulled out of your parking lot on my first travel trailer excursion ever. Thank you for the detailed tutorial of how that bad boy works, and for having the trailer ready to go as I pulled up for my noon pickup. We got to our campsite at Perdinales Falls State Park and it was a breeze to get set up and start enjoying our trip. The camper worked perfectly and was very easy to function. My wife and 1 year old and I had an amazing time and we even slept good! I recently recommended my father-in-law (a travel trailer owner) contact you guys to about putting his Trailer in your rental program. He said y'all got him taken care of already and it's been a great relief for him to have a place to park and keep it maintained! This past summer we decided to take a road trip, our first ever via a motorhome. We went to see the folks at American Dream Vacations, needless to say we had no clue about RV'ing. I had a great experience with ADV! We rented a trailer from them for a music festival that we attend every year. The trailer was set up and ready to go when we arrived, no problems. I left a bag of pretty expensive clothes in the trailer and they were no sweet to take it in to their office and hang on to everything until I got there. When I arrived, 3 or 4 employees offered to help me before I even made it inside! I went ahead and reserved another trailer for next year. Great customer service! read more
