I generally think this is a good spot, but this one in Murfreesboro can sometimes be less satisfying than other times. If they can keep an employee for more than a week, it is good or even great imo. But paying 14 dollar for a small burrito that isnt rolled properly, has too much of this, not enough of that, and chips that are all broken into little pieces is sort of dissapointing. Like I said, if they could keep people around it would be more consistent. Maybe its the local job market. Its not the customer's fault paying top dollar for a burrito. The tables are almost always sticky. The decor is old and weird. I still go here. There arent any other decent spots as far as I know. read more

A friend suggested we try this place out. We arrived for a late dinner and the place was mostly empty. I am a native Mexican and raised in Texas. This food did not impress me. It does look like what I grew up seeing in Mexican kitchens, but it did not taste like what I wished it did. I had chips and queso as a side. The queso had a difficult time deciding if it wanted to be spicy or not. The chips were just ok, but nothing that you haven't tasted from bagged chips at a grocery store. As a meal, I had a beef burrito. The tortilla felt fabricated as opposed to made from scratch. It's a taste between rubber and plastic. The beef was marinated properly, so I did enjoy the inside. My friend found his plate to be too small a serving and debated on getting an extra taco, but after eating his first portion decided it wasn't worth spending the money. If this place is close to you and your only "Tex-Mex" option, then maybe you might want to try it. However, I know there are better taco / burrito shops nearby that give larger, tastier portions. read more

I wish I had turned around after I saw the "grilled" chicken and steak sitting in liquid on the toppings bar....I got the salad and I'm glad I did because the other lettuce option is just iceberg shredded lettuce the salad lettuce is romaine lettuce. I put plenty of toppings on my salad and it still just didn't taste like much and I couldn't get passed the "grilled" meats in liquid....like I'm not sure when these meats were grilled but it definitely wasn't recently. Awesome place to eat! Fast service and delicious food. The staff there were really nice and I felt that the food was higher quality versus some of the other restaurants that do similar serving methods (I.e. making your food in front of you as you order). Not only did we find hair in our food-long hair- but the staff was too busy playing and blasting music from the kitchen to even notice the customers up front. Everything is delicious! We are here all the time, because the food is addictive. Best fruit tea in town. Pineapple salsa is a must. A small burrito is enough food for most. Crunch up some chips and add queso for extra deliciousness. Blue Coast is delicious casual stop if you want Mexican. The decor is a combination of retro and artsy. The staff is helpful and friendly. I ordered the burrito and added all my favorite ingredients- Wow; it was more than I could eat. My wife and I had more than enough chips and cheese dip- excellent. Mediocre burrito. Ingredients seemed to be pretty fresh but the meat was disappointing. Relatively decent price for the amount of food you actually get. It's got a chipotle feel to the joint. Cool place to have lunch with a bunch of people, the tables are not bolted down and you could accommodate a sizable group. My review may be jaded, depending on where you are from. After confusing this place with another, we decided we'd stay to try it out. I had recently heard it was great, so I was hopeful. It's like a Subway for burritos and tacos is the best way I can describe it. We both had different versions of a Cabo Bowl (rice, beans, over processed queso, meat, veggies, etc.) It was pretty ok, but nothing to write home about. It had ok flavor, but the salas bar did have lots of flavorful salsa to pep it up. Overall, I doubt we'll go back. Moe's is a far better option for this style of dining in my opinion. read more

They need to have a meeting with all employees where they go over correct portions so everyone is on the same page. I pull up one time and get served 1/2 a scoop of beans, a ton of rice and a normal scoop of chicken and a ton of cheese on a regular burrito. Probably one of the worst burritos I have had here. I come another day and I get served 1/2 scoops of everything and then normal amount of cheese. I'm not paying $13.50 for a $6.00 sized burrito. The chips aren't even worth it since they stale and greasy half the time. Chipotle is starting to become the more reliable option on consistency. Pulling into the bluecoast parking lot and knowing you have a 50/50 chance of good burrito isn't really a good feeling. The food is good, but something is not being done right at this location. I work about a mile from Blue a coast.My co workers and I used to get to go orders from here about once every two weeks. This was 2-3 years ago. Back then ordering online was always easy to do, we would start a group order and send somebody to pick it up about 20 mins after everybody had placed their order. Even during lunch rush hours we never had a problem. Food was always prepared correctly and it was good. Had I reviewed Blue Coast then, they would have received 4-5 stars. Recently, we have started ordering from there again. The first time we ordered and when our pickup person arrived about 20-25 mins after order submission they were met with a confused and unprepared staff. He had to wait an additional 15 minutes bringing total time from ordering to pickup to nearly an hour, and they left out some of our order. Today we decided to have another go at it and when we sent our pickup person out to get it the cashier at the pickup area told her there was no record of our order. We verified that it had been placed and submitted and that the store should have it but they didn't. No apologies were made by the staff they just asked our co worker if we wanted to place an order now that she was there. Reluctantly, we did and we decided that it will be the last time as we have the choice of Moe's, Freebird, and Chipotle now so we don't feel that we should have to deal with the shortcomings at Blue Coast. Blue coast is good but apparently they are dropping the ball when it comes to servicing carry out orders. read more

Love Blue Coast Burrito! Came in with the fam when it was not so busy. Everything on the menu is good! My favorite thing to get here is either the chicken salad or chicken quesadilla. You can customize your own toppings. If only they had a corn salsa then it would all be complete! They have a salsa bar with four different types of salsa to choose from.
