The first is simple and contemporary, the second involved an intricate pattern of colorful tiles forming wall-size images. Sara worked with us on the design, asking many questions to understand our aesthetic aims and practical needs, and offering a variety of options for us to choose among to achieve our goals. She also provided a variety of very effective ideas and solutions, considering the physical constraints of the (relatively small) spaces, to ensure the best use of spaces and to create a very open feel in both bathrooms, all in a cost-effective manner. The actual construction was done in an extremely professional manner by workers who were not only highly-skilled but also friendly, considerate of our needs, and responsive to our questions and concerns as the projects progressed. Particularly impressive, amazing really, was the tile work performed by Cliff. The colorful bathroom involved laying more than 1,000 tiles, and cutting more than 100 tiles to create the intricate design. It also involved the fitting of the many tiles to very close tolerance specifications. Cliff was both masterful and highly conscientious in completing this tile work. The result is stunning. In addition, along the way in both bathrooms, specific questions arose about alternative approaches to implementing features of the design. Cliff identified and raised these questions for us to think about, and he offered aesthetically pleasing solutions. In short, Cliff's work was thoughtful, technically masterful, and informed by his strong sense of aesthetic beauty. We are most impressed by Kitchen and Bath World for their general approach, their implementation, and the final product in renovating both bathrooms. Kitchen and Bath World has our highest recommendation.

Dawn worked with us developing several designs until the perfect one was attained. She is a good listener and capably responded to our requests by email or in person promptly. She and Terry came to our home to finalize the building project. They are both professional, friendly and eager to make our dream kitchen come true. Like walking into a restaurant and asking for a menu to order the food you want. After giving up on the prospect of a greeting, I went to the receptionist and asked for spec books to look at so I could just write down what we wanted. The receptionist told me they don't give those out. I assured him that I didn't want to keep them, I just wanted to sit down and look at them to write down what we wanted to buy. He went and got a sales person who parroted the same answer, as I assured them yet again that I didn't want to take their books anywhere. Also they won't help you with anything if you don't have an appointment even if there's nobody else in the building. You see, their texting and internet shopping is too important to give up for customers looking to spend money. So imagine walking into a restaurant that has nobody in it and being refused a menu to order anything and being told that nobody could help you. Remind you of anything? It sure struck a cord with me. They also have windows and doors. And that's about it. It's all discounted, most of it new but off-brand but some of it product overruns, the stock is rather unpredictable but what they have typically runs a lot cheaper than the Lowe's and Home Depot and moderately cheaper than Lumber Liquidators and the like. If you're not picky, or if you're building for somebody else's renovation, you can find good bargains here. As for long-term quality, I know not: everything here seems to be fairly elemental. There are a few semi-custom things you can order (windows, notably) but exactly how custom is hard to tell. In any event, there's definitely money to be saved but it does depend on what your tolerance range is for style and selection. Probably worth poking your head in if you're doing your own home renovation, particularly on a rental or an in-law unit. Location is at 7 and Watt St., you have to turn onto Watt from 7 and go by United Buffet, Ocean State, and the panoply of dollar stores through the parking lot to get to Bargain Outlet all the way at the end.
