Here's a little back story to this review. We used Certified Pest Control for a home inspection…read morewhile buying a house. Alex came out and inspected the property (at least what he could). He didn't see any cause for concern so we went through with the purchase. During the renovation I had to take some drywall down due to a leak that the previous owner used to have. To my surprise, I found termites. I gave Alex the benefit of doubt since a person can't see behind a wall so I decided to call him up for a termite treatment. He came out and quoted us at $900 which is pricey, but the termites scared me so we opted to go with them and we scheduled the treatment. However, the guys that came out to do the work were extremely unprofessional. My wife was there with them at the house since I had to be work. Had I been there, I would have fired them from the start. From the moment they arrived, they were cursing up a storm. F-This, F-That, F-You (to each other). At one point a car drove past the house and he yelled out F-You to the car. Then complained that we don't have enough outlets outside because they didn't bring long enough extension cords. For $900 I expected professionalism and we didn't receive it at all. When I called to complain all I was told was "Sorry. I'll pass the info along". Which doesn't surprise me since she is the guy's (that I'm complaining about) wife. They offer a warranty to protect their service every year after the first year so that my house is protected which was quoted at $145. I would have extended it every year, but after today I am definitely going with a reputable company next year. I'll be doing more research next time.

Orkin has been excellent in servicing our 200-year-old Center City row home. When we moved in,…read morethere were mice and roaches. After their first visit, we started to see improvement within a few weeks, and it took about two months for the issues to be largely under control. Persistent treatment, exclusion work, and ongoing maintenance have brought those issues largely under control. What impressed me most was the process. This was not a one-time spray-and-go service. They conducted a thorough assessment of the property, documented issues, developed a treatment plan, and then followed through with regular maintenance visits. That structure matters because pest control in an old urban building takes consistency over time. Special thanks to Michael, who led the work and communicated exceptionally throughout. I also appreciate that the service runs on a regular schedule, so they show up proactively, and I don't have to constantly book appointments. The technicians have been consistently professional and thorough. They leave, set glue traps, refill bait boxes, and pay attention to detail. It feels like comprehensive service, not the minimum. Their digital communication platform is also very effective, and rescheduling is easy when needed. For context, our management company used a different pest control vendor before Orkin, and the difference in quality has been significant. Orkin's approach has been far more thoughtful and consistent. One thing that has especially mattered to us is child safety. We have newborn twins and a young daughter, and the team has always been careful to discuss treatment options and ensure everything is handled with safety in mind. Living in an old city building, we expect some pest pressure to come with the territory, but Orkin has helped get our home to a place that feels sanitary, well-managed, and under control. From my perspective, the service has been a very good value, and I would highly recommend Orkin.

My daughter was hearing some critters scurrying around in the ceiling of her upstairs rooms. She…read moresays it was mostly in the morning. I was trying to help her find an exterminator to help. I decided to look on Yelp, because they have helped me find contractors before. I chose Pest Medics because they responded within a hour. They also (responding through text) told me their range of pricing and could come out the next day. I'm assuming Javan is the owner of the company. Him and another worker came within their window of time. They were very cordial to us as they entered. They listened to my daughter explain the issues she was having. They walked through the house (inside and out) inspecting where the critters could be coming in and out of. They finally found one of the entry points near the roof. They explained about the one way gate like thing they put up to let (we think it was squirrels) out, but could not get back in. My daughter was impressed that there was not cruelty to the animals. She just wanted them out of her house. All in all, it took the a total of 45 minutes to complete the job. Not mentioning the price, they charged the top of the range they gave her. There was no paperwork to show what was done. Just a receipt for the job (on her phone) and a 30 day verbal guarantee for the work they had done. This is were the stars started coming off!! About a week had passed and my daughter was still hearing squirrels in the roof. She called Javan and company to come back out because the problem was still there. They made a appointment to come back two days later with a no show and no call. My daughter call them within a half hour left within that window of time they were suppose to have come out. Javan telling her he got tied up with another job and could they reschedule. He knew he was tied up before that phone call. It is to easy to text or call someone. That is so rude, to waste someone's time....looking for you to come. They did reschedule though. The same thing happened again, only this time he called her when there was only a half hour left with in his scheduled window, saying he needed to reschedule. At this point we felt he had her money, so she goes on the back burner. After a few harsh words, he followed up and showed up soon after. They reinspected her property, sealed in some additional entery points. Later, came back to get their cage and seal in the entry points in the roof. Seems like the problem is solved. I don't like giving bad reviews, but they wasted her time twice. They didn't do a bad job, just be warned if you decided to go with Pest Medics.
