I went here hoping I can get my neck knot removed or at least my lower back massaged to help with my pain so I called to make an appointment. Asked for deep tissue and 60 min. Lady said ok $45. I show up and they refused to see me. Three different ladies came out and stared at me and each said no hard message and no massage. I went to blue Angel massage in Norwalk, California, just walked in and was able to get in right away. this was my second time coming here, I left the first time I came probably about five years ago because they wanted me to pay for Tip before my massage which I didn't think was right since the tip is something you do after service. I chose to give them another chance and I chose the one hour massage. they ask you to pay ahead of time so for the hour it was $45 plus a one dollar credit card fee. The massage was great, really relaxing. At the end when I went to pay for the tip, I told them to tip five dollars and she made several faces before saying it wasn't enough and asked if $10 was OK but I repeated that I wanted to only tip five dollars again she gave me several dirty looks and said it wasn't enough and asked if $10 was OK. she did this 3 times before she then started speaking to someone in the back room in a different language and that person came out and asked me $10 was OK and again, I said $5. Then they proceeded to speak in a different language to each other and shake their heads angrily while talking aggressively. Again paid another one dollar fee for my credit card charge. I paid 30 for the massage with 2 $20 bills before the massage and once she was done she stood in front of us and said "Tip Tip" and when i said what? She said " I gave you change for tip"...what?!?!? That was my due change!!! That was such a turn off. Last time I checked a tip is something you willingly give when youre satisfied with the above average service you get, not when your getting paid for something at the price you sell the service for and have done nothing out of the ordinary to earn a tip. The lady did no speak English and could not communicate with me. Another lady came out and asked how much I would like to leave for a tip. This place has a few things going for it, first of all it's open until 10pm (love this) and it's $30, for one hour!!! Yes! Ok, so here's the not so good. I have been there 3 times and EVERY single time the masseuse has been engaged in a YELLING conversation with another employee almost the entire time. Pretty hard to enjoy with lots of yelling going on. The massage was good it's just that I cannot get over the yelling. It seems pretty clean, and the staff is nice so 3/5. After driving by this place everyday, i decided to give it a try. Yes i was charged $1 for transaction fee and she kept saying this word which i honestly didn't know what she was asking for. To me she was saying "tablong" and i told her that all i wanted was the 1hr massage. Before starting the massage she asked for the "tablong" and once again I told her I was sorry but i didn't understand. During my massage, yes she stopped to chit chat with another lady, her phone rang and she took the call, she stepped out of the room 6 times total. When the massage was over, she told me that i couldn't leave without giving her a tablong. She told me that her boss charges $30 and that she needs to charge me too. She then called somebody on her phone and spoke to her for about 5 minutes and then she passed me the phone and she said it was her boss. I spoke to her and she asked if I wanted to leave a tip? and I told her sorry but I don't have cash on me. She said thats fine and that she was going to tell the masseuse. Been there three times. Each time the massage was very good. However the last time I was there she asked me in the middle of his massage how much I was going to tip her. My mother went here one day and told me she had a amazing time.. So I decided to give it a try since my back and lower back were killing me!! I went in the place was so peaceful and relaxing I had to pay up front which is no problem before the massage which was $35 for an hour plus hot stones. The girl who massaged me was great she worked my back and lower back just fine the stones!!! Honestly, I always read reviews so I've avoided this place up until today. My shoulder was killing me and they happen to be open when I got off work at 7. The ladies don't speak English well but I understood it would be about a 10 mins wait and 1 hr was $30. I said ok np problem and waited a few moments. Linda, who was about to do my massage, told me I could wait in the room but did ask if I could pay first. I said sure, she let me know up front that there was a $1 charge for credit cards. I told her no problem. She didn't even try to sell me more (they have a hot since add on for $5 that I didn't see till I already paid). She at no time asked about the tip in advance although I see why they do. They need to run the full amount at once because there is not a spot to leave a tip. After she ran my card I asked her if I could add a tip at the end on my card. She said yes no problem and she wouldn't charge the $1 fee when I used my card again to tip. The massage itself is nice. I will say this, I have seen massage therapists countless times, these ladies offer a massage service but are not massage therapists. Anyone can tell this. If you are expecting a massage therapist that you can talk about exactly where it hurts and get the knots worked out... then go pay for one cause they run about twice as much. If you want a nice massage because you are stressed or aching then this is the place. With that in mind, Linda did great. She was thorough and asked about the pressure often. She was professional and kind and I'm positive she went over the hour I had paid for to make sure she didn't forget anything. I'll tell you right now that the massage is way different. Too start, it's a good thing I'm comfortable with massages and being naked because the sheets are super thin and barely cover. They also are pretty heavy on the oil but use warm towels to take it off. Linda also works the glutes (butt) I'm not quite used to that so it caught me off guard at first but it feels nice... especially if you carry some junk in the trunk! When the massage was over Linda offered me a snap cup of water and waited for me outside. I asked again about leaving the top on the card which was the only time she asked how much. I told her $15 because well... I'm not a jerk and she did a good job! Linda was very grateful and thanked me 3 times. All the ladies thanked me as I left and told me to have a good night. Overall I enjoyed my hour here and will come back again. My husband is going tomorrow and I told him to ask for linda... although I don't know how I feel about all that massaging on his butt lol. I completely understand why they ask for the $ up front. They are not in the best area and just wroth the clientele I saw going in and it while I was there, they probably get harassed or stiffed on the bill alot. I went here to get a massage and coming out feeling great, I got the 30min/body and 30min/feet for $30. Not bad for that price but if you don't have cash and only card, they will charge $1 for fee and pay tip in advance, which I gave them $10 tip. My experience was good, the staff was nice and friendly, I had my private, dark room with quiet with deep relaxation music and my massage girl did a great job on my back and feet. I went yesterday for a full body massage with my boyfriend and wont be going back , The lady kept talking and walking in and out on top of that she stopped about 5 min early. We werent happy with the service so we tipped 5$ .. I go see Anna several times a month since this shop is the lowest priced shop in the city. I always get a 2 hour massage which is $60. Most massage spas charge $60 for one hour! Anna is very strong (I'm 6'2" and 310lbs-so lots to work on). By the time Anna is done, she is sweating. Two reasons I always get Anna-one she is strong and gives a really good massage and two-she is friendly, always has a smile for you. Since I am big and she works so hard, I give a $40 tip for two hours. Most shops give the girls 50% of the hourly charge, so only getting $30 for two hours is awfully low. With low priced spas like this, a decent tip should be given. If you're that cheap that you can't, maybe only come in when you have saved enough money for a good tip-believe me the girls remember! read more

I came for the first time for the advertisement of $30 for a 60 minute massage. The lady at the front desk said there will be a $1 fee for using a credit card, which was fine with me. I've hurt my hip so I figured it would improve after the 60 minutes. When I gave her the ok, she said that at the end of the massage if I pay the tip by card I will not have a $1 service fee again. Then she mentioned $10, but did not say that the tip will be mandatory. We proceeded to the room, started the massage and the same lady from the front desk worked on my back and shoulders with no oil. She burnt me dry. Afterwards, about mid way through to the end she added the massage oil. She had told me that I would be getting a Swedish and a deep tissue massage. I never felt her kneed out the knots or pay closer attention to my ailments. I even let her know where I was hurting. The lady is an imigrant who does not really speak English fluently, so I don't think she completely understands what went on. My massage ended 5 mins. early and she came back to the room after I dressed to ask for her tip (ie. Cash or card). I told her cash because I was planning on giving her a courtesy tip of 10percent - $3.00. After I handed her the $3.00 she let me know that the minimum would have to be $10.00 and that is why the promotional offer is so low. I told her that she didn't tell me this ahead of time and insinuated that this is not supposed to be mandatory by stating: "Oh, this is mandatory? " I then paid her via card, left, and never plan on patronizing them again because my hip feels the same.
