After about 5 minutes of looking at my washer, he told me there was a grinding sound and that I would need a new transmission. Since this repair costs more than a new washer, I declined and told him I would rather not. He gave me a $75 bill and went on his way. On a hunch I asked someone else to look at it, and am glad I did. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the transmission and had some loose bolts that needed to be tightened. Now it works fine. I called and complained and without hesitation he told me he wouldn't charge me, which I guess is good, but it makes me feel that he knew all along what he was doing. Or maybe he knows he just can't fix washers. Either way, avoid.
