This is our second visit to this family owned restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and they seated us immediately. The service is attentive and friendly and the food is excellent! As always they ended the meal with complimentary homemade cookies

If you look at my photos for this joint, you will find the absence of a turkey sandwich (ciabatta bread). I fully expected to include that photo but it was no longer in my roll. Maybe the government removed it. As far as my experience here... I had every intention of eating here but was met with who I would assume to be owner. He was super friendly and accommodating. He definitely assumed I was there for takeout since alone and he told me all about the menu and didn't try to sway me in any direction. This guy genuinely cares about his business and customers--and to a degree I rarely see. The food was super duper fresh! I mean, that is some of the freshest food in the LKN area! Only two problems... 1. Prices are way too high. 2. They forgot the tomatoes and mayonnaise. I'll be back though.

We were on our way to visit close friends in South Carolina for the long Labor Day Weekend. We wanted to grab some lunch along the way and decided to search for a place to eat near Mooresville. We saw Blu Star and decided to check it out. After reading reviews we were aware it was a little more expensive but with their overall score of 4.2 stars with over 200 reviews, and knowing the Charlotte area is typically more expensive, we decided to stop in. The menu consists of burgers, salads, steak, seafood, and pasta. Yes, the prices may be a little higher than you might expect but the quality of the food and the experience are also important. We arrived about 12:30pm on a Friday afternoon and parked on the street nearby and walked inside. We were immediately seated in a booth and there were several other tables and booths already seated. We noticed the positive health score on our way to the table, 98.5, and it feels very clean, well kept, and welcoming. We were provided menus and offered drinks. We felt we had to try an order of their chips as an appetizer. We are both fans of hot chips and this is something we never saw living on the West coast. For our meals, my wife decided to get the Strawberry Summer Salad with Grilled Chicken and I chose the Bacon Cheeseburger with Mac & Cheese. The chips arrived quickly and were brought with ranch dressing without asking for it, which was appreciated. In my opinion, the chips appeared too uniform to be fresh, however, my wife thought our server said they were cut each morning. Either way, they hit the spot and disappeared quickly. Our entrees also arrived in a timely fashion as the place began to fill up. Everything looked and tasted delicious and we each enjoyed our meals. After we were finished, we were offered desserts which we declined. My wife saw something on the menu that every meal includes a cookie. A short while later someone came to our table with wrapped cookies and my wife chose a white chocolate Macadamia nut cookie and I chose chocolate chip. We thought they were both very good. Everything was good about this experience but there was nothing that really stood out. It was solid. Combine that with the price which was on the higher side. We may be back but it is not likely we will seek it out.

Found this wonderful restaurant. It was amazingly good. We weren't seated very long when the owner of the restaurant came to our table and explained great things about the menu. No meat is ever frozen. All ingredients are always fresh. I ordered the meatloaf. It was made with Angus beef and had amazing flavor laid on a bed of mashed potato's with green beans. We also had the Mahi Mahi laid on a bed of rice with a great tasting sauce. The restaurant had a great feeling and was very calm inside. I definitely would give this a 5 star recommendation. Try it. It will not disappoint.

All items we ordered were very good. I especially liked that there were many GF options to choose from. And the option to have a burger on a GF bun. The Shrimp Poorboy was excellent (Not GF)

My friend and I stopped here for a quick bite and we're very pleased with our lunch. We shared a chicken salad sandwich on wheat bread, toasted. The chicken salad was tasty and full of chicken, dried cranberries, celery and sliced almonds. This was filling and more than enough for both of us. We had a side of sweet potato fries that were cooked perfectly and we dipped those in a tangy honey mustard sauce. Who knew that would be a lovely compliment. One of their specialities at Blue Star is the trio burger. OMG - elk, bison and angus meat stacked high with cheeses, cooked to perfection. This burger is filled with flavor and sure to please anyone with an appetite. Blue star grill gives everyone a fresh cookie after your meal as a wonderful treat. We tried the oatmeal raisin and the chocolate macadamia nut. Both equally delicious. The service was superb today and we enjoyed the ambience too.

The restaurant had a good number of patrons, with about four tables available. I ordered, and my food came out in less than 10 minutes. I thoroughly enjoyed the eggs, the tea, and the pancake. The bacon was thin and overcooked. I ate it, of course, but I will not order it should I return for breakfast. Service was quick and cordial. Once to food came it was ok...but not worthy of the 4/5 stars that others have offered or the ranking as a great brunch place. She had a special with poached eggs, sausage, and one slice of French toast. Sausage seemed like it might have been fresh from a supermarket frozen package. French toast came super late. My omelet and biscuit were good enough (but not hot enough...did they sit around waiting to be expedited...short servers?). As for the grits. They ran out. How does a breakfast place in NC run out? They finally came after I had finished the omelet. Sigh. THEN the single slice of lukewarm French toast came. After the grits. After she was long finished with her eggs. It WAS delicious though. Perhaps an off day? Happens. Again, servers were delightfully polite. But food was only average, and the kitchen...well...read above...

When he came back with the beer I told him that I just saw the beer special was for a tall and asked him to change my order as it was less expensive (more for less). He said he couldn't change my order. 2) This Thursday my date and I ordered dinner and drinks. I ordered wine and she ordered a bourbon drink. Bar maid asked what preference of bourbon and try r answer was Woodford. Two problems... The wine was expired and I asked for different one. The maid said that she couldn't "refund". So I ordered and paid for a replacement. When the bill came she charged for 2 Glenlivit shots for a total of $29. I told her we did not order GL and her response was that they were out of Woodford and management "told them" to charge the GL price which is insanely expensive. The bottom line is that you cannot trust the bar staff at this place. Nor can you expect good customer service. Both of these staff members have been there as long as I've been going there. This is my last experience.

I'm going to give it to you straight--as always…read more This joint hasn't been open long but the demand is high! And there is a reason for that. It's called Teriyaki Madness--the thing people love but it's rarely brought up in conversation (Teriyaki, not madness). How often do you hear someone say, "Hey! Don't you love Teriyaki Chicken?" Does this happen at church? On a phone call? On the train? With the Uber driver? The answer is no. But we all love Teriyaki! At least 97.3% of us. I have only ordered the Chicken Teriyaki with Noodles (a little extra on pricing). The Chicken Teriyaki was great! The noodles were good but only because they somehow vibed with the Chicken. To put this in perspective, the Chicken Teriyaki was like MJ and the noodles were like Pippen. I'll try the Steak with Rice next time. Tbh, the prices are a little high, but I did order the noodles on the junior size to sample so not the best value, and the noodles cost extra. In other words, you don't want Chicken with Pippen. You want Chicken or Steak with Rice. Disclaimer: No offense to Scottie Pippen. He played a huge role in their championships. Overall, Teriyaki Madness is called Teriyaki Madness for a reason. If the noodles were great, it would be called Noodle Factory or Noodletasia or Wadoodle My Noodle. It's a when-in-Rome kind of thing. Never been to Rome but you know what I mean. If not, you can Google it. And the staff is great. They are not rude at all. A few of them might be shy but just be kind and they will open up. The staff is actually great. Recommended!
