The pancake tacos felt gimmicky and didn't hold together well, so I ended up cutting them up on my plate. They didn't taste bad, but the taco stands were silly. A 97 score isn't terrible, but it's not especially impressive either. Overall, the service killed the experience for me, and I won't be back. read more

This was my first visit to the Counter. We arrived in time for their lunch menu, and there was lots to choose from. This place has great black and white decor, with lots of plants. Makes it feel very welcoming. We tried two of the sandwiches, the Americano, which had house roasted roast beef, caramelized onions, mushrooms, aoli dressing. So delicious. The bread is really soft too. You get a choice of chips or potato salad, also house made. Potato salad is very good, not at all mayonnaise overpowering or gummy. The other sandwich was the South of Philly Cheesesteak. Shaved meat with cheddar cheese. Very, very good. The Counter has a small area of seats from front to back plus a little area outside to sit. They are located between stores in a strip mall, but easy to find. Next time, I'll have to try their breakfast menu, as I can tell from the other reviews that they are large and tasty. read more

Just wonderful! The staff were so friendly helped us navigate the menu for the perfect lunch items. The seem to do a lot of business so seating is kind of limited. I did feel at times like maybe they were trying to get us to go. We were moving a touch slow I'd admit and other patrons could've used our seats. So I'll say that's on us. I had the BCT and it was A LOT of cheese! If you like pimento cheese this is the sandwich for you. Lot of cheese. A lot. The Pastrami, Reuben Style, was just amazing! One critique from my better half was maybe toast the bread just slightly so it'll hold together a bit better but still dope! It's a little out of the way for me but I will be making the trek often. Three times we have been here at lunch.....first experience was ok.....but it's near our Airbnb....ordered a grilled chicken on the sesame roll, it was good so we thought.....try a second time again, disappointing, as I was eating my lovely salad I encountered a hair! This place popped up on my Yelp feed. I don't think I had ever gone to a Yelp Feed place before. But I was excited because there are bagels! Aside from here, there are only two good bagel places in the area. One is far and the other doesn't have the friendliest customer service. So I was happy to find The Counter. While at the counter at The Counter, they asked my name. I literally didn't know what to say: Dan or Tyler (pen name). At this point, 95% of people call my Tyler. It has unintentionally taken over my life. Somehow, this led to a mini life conversation at the counter at The Counter. Both employees were super chill and friendly. And we agreed on some life philosophies. For the food, the bagel was super buttery, which was great. I don't know why I love butter so much but I own it. Respect to the anti-herd butter crowd. The Turkey Sandwich on a Kaiser Roll (reminds me of sitting at a table by a pool in Florida) was very good, and the seasoned chips are made in-house. Most people would choose the sandwich and chips, and that makes sense. But I will go with the bagel on future visits--gotta get that butter! Definitely recommended. read more

Heard about the Counter from some friends and wanted to try it out. Went over for lunch on the weekend and it was a great experience. I had the Meatball Sub and my wife had the Godfather. The Counter was definitely a missing piece in the Charlotte deli scene. I recently had a catering order for my Uptown office of 100+ employees. Ordering was a breeze and they were very accommodating to a couple of dietary restrictions I had requested. My staff is asking when are we having them cater again. You gotta try the Godfather Sangweech, it's massive, meaty and delicious! Everyone was raving about the house-made pastrami sandwich too! The bread they use...is absolutely wonderful. This was our first visit ever to The Counter in Mooresville. The staff was ok (not really friendly, but fine). The food was good, not great; and definitely overpriced. Super cute ambience and seemed very clean. The problem we had unfortunately was we believe with the coffee! Within 1/2 hour after leaving, my husband and I both got really sick (explosive diarrhea)! Maybe they didn't wash the coffee pot out and soap or a chemical residue was left in it? That's all we can figure since we ordered two totally separate meals. We wanted to get some breakfast quick and really wanted to try The Counter. We had our twin baby's with us and arrived right at 11. They said they were done serving breakfast. I told the lady I kept seeing there yummy post on fb and we finally came to try it! She asked the chef if they could whip something up for us before they switch to lunch and they didn't disappoint. The environment was inviting very clean. You could tell they had been busy all morning and still had a smile on their face. Employees were very nice. Pictures posted! We ordered the LOADED SCRAMBLER. This included truffle tater tots, scrambled eggs, sausage, crumbled, bacon, diced tomatoes, avocado, and melted cheese. As well as CLASSIC EGG SAMMY smashed red fried bliss potatoes, sausage patty and apple wood smoked bacon with American cheese on a Kaiser roll. Cute locally owned sandwich shop off of Brawley School Road in Mooresville. Seems like almost everything is homemade. Got the Philly several times now and I have to admit it is probably the best cheesesteak in the area! We have tried breakfast twice and it's pretty amazing as well, especially the breakfast burrito! can't remember what used to be here but this is here now and I'm kind of a fan. saw the signage while in the area a while back tending to the necessary bits of life and had the opportunity to stop in for a bite this morning. looked the menu over and was struck by the phrase "pancake tacos" I am familiar with these words separately but not so much in conjunction. so with curiosity piqued I stepped up to the counter and requested a bit of that while preparing to be underwhelmed... happy to report that my fears were unfounded in this instance. while I was sipping my coffee a smiling lady delivered a handsome portion of breakfast in a clever tray - the tacos invitingly oozing a little mapley goodness from within. the cheese shreds seem odd and out of place at first but hey it's tacos so just go with it! inside the folded pancake are crisped up bits of sausage with eggs your way (soft scrambled is spill-safe and delicious) and a healthy dose of bacony maple jam syrup (with real bacon!?) all topped with the previously mentioned cheeses :-) pulled one out of the rack and sampled my way through the flavor and texture combinations. repeated the process and got the same result so yeah, it was all good. napkins and cutlery are in a caddy on the table which is convenient, salt and pepper too. no hot sauce but it really isn't necessary because, well, you know... flavors! crisp clean design, tastefully arranged dining and waiting areas, couple of tables out front and you even get a water bowl for doggo! earlier is better unless you're better later, folks coming and going without too much delay regardless. read more

The owner is super friendly & nice & I would love to make this place a go to, but I think the biggest challenge for me is the inconsistency. The pastrami sandwich and cole slaw is amazing, but then I tried the meatball sub which was just okay: it was luke warm at best & the cheese wasn't quite melted and the potatoes for the potato salad were undercooked & under seasoned. And just a suggestion to offer half sandwiches (so then I could try 2 at a time ;-)) or smaller portioned salads. read more

This place is awesome. We've tried them twice, once for breakfast and once for lunch. Both were outstanding. Breakfast was great, we had the cinnamon roll, Acai Bowl, and Breakfast Sandwich. My kids fought over the last bites. For Lunch we ordered four sandwiches and shared amongst my family. BCT, Maggiano, Cheesesteak, and Gnome. All were delicious.
