I ordered a medium Turkey Bacon Ranch without lettuce and tomatoes. The sub tasted good, but I do wish it had more meat on it for the price. Came here for the first time today, to get lunch to go. Contrary to other reviews, the place was clean and the workers friendly. We got two medium subs, a Meatball and the Engineer. Both were what we expect from Firehouse Subs: fresh, hot, and plenty of fillings. They were packed neatly and stayed warm until we got home. They've never let me down. Their sandwiches always look like the one you saw on TV that made you get out of the BarcaLounger to go get some füd (if you get that reference we should be friends). The only downside is, and I can't verify if this is true, the restaurant always feels a little sticky...if that makes sense. Kind of like a Popeyes chicken usually feels. Clean little shop with plenty of seating inside and a few umbrella-ed tables out. Got some parking up front and more out back with doors on both ends. Pretty sure the restrooms are accessible but you absolutely can get to them Took a couple minutes to look over the menu and settled on the Brisket -&- Cheddar plus chips and a shot at the soda-matic. Cashier was pleasant without platitude or pretense which greatly improved my disposition. Food came up shortly, nice and warm and all saucey and briskety on soft fresh bread with a pickle spear. When I first ate here years ago it was great. The last few times I've been so disappointed. Not much meat on each sandwich. Ordered 2 sandwiches. Mine was a Club and missing the bacon (comes standard). My husband ordered a Hero and substituted ranch and got vinegar instead. Then when you open the sandwich the meat was plopped on in chunks instead of nicely layered where you'd get all types of meat in one bite. My sandwich was constructed similarly too but not QUITE as blatant as his. They get something wrong every time we order there. At least this last time they were friendly. read more

Had a poor experience a couple days ago and left one star for VERY slow service and VERY skimpy ingredients. Went to a Firehouse feedback website and shared my experience. The manager reached out via email for me to call her. She offered to make it right. She also explained the personnel transition they are going through (we did notice a now hiring sign on the door). I trust her sincerity when she described how they will get better soon, that they will be great again. That's why I raised this to 3 stars. No or Slow Service After no service at another restaurant down the street, I decided to give Firehouse Subs a try. This is a new location and in the past, I've generally enjoyed the food at Firehouse Subs and Service is generally pretty good. Walked in and took a look around. There was one gentleman patiently waiting at the end of the counter for his order. I went to the other end of the counter and ordered a #4 Italian and paid my $6.40 for it. Had to be elsewhere in a bit so I ordered it to go. 12 minutes later and still no Sub so I left. The gentleman who was patiently waiting for his order ... he was still patiently waiting for his order. My fiancé and I went tonight to get subs to go and the entire time we were there the two kids working up front never once acknowledged us when we walked in and talked crap to each other the whole time, joking one minute and calling each other stupid the next. They both clearly have no customer skills at all and the other(possibly a manager) is just walking back and forth from the kitchen up front not saying a single word to these VERY IMMATURE KIDS. And mind you we were the only customers in there. Took them about 20 minutes to make two subs and got home to cold subs. I've always loved firehouse subs over subway. We also know that it's hard to find good help, which is where a good manager comes in to manage accordingly. I read a few of the reviews first and I basically have the same complaint. Young kids not taking their job serious. The food doesn't have nearly as much meat as before, over loaded with Mayo. Surely by now, they've made their own sandwich and know how much "should" be on there for customers. It always takes forever. Take a lesson from Chick-Fil-A and get some lean/Kaizen processing going on. Take a little initiative to give a darn about the quality and service you are providing at this location. I am fan of firehouse...the food has always been very good and consistent. This location (mid day on a Saturday) needed to have a mgr or staff leader in charge to clean up the dining area---the floor was very dirty and many of the patrons had trash under their tables; can someone find a broom and a dustpan please. Even the drink area had straw wrappers left all on the counter. More than three people should be working!! I actually witness several patrons having to wipe down their tables before eating. It took over 20 minutes to receive three combos (Italian, Spicy Cajun Chicken, and just Turkey). We could have went door and took a nap in the sleep number mattress store next door by the time our meal came out!!! read more

I am a huge fan of Firehouse Subs. When Mooresville finally got this location I was super stoked and probably ate here once a week. Which ultimately burned me out on Hook & Ladders and Turkey Bacon Ranch Subs. Decided to stop in for lunch and grab something to grub on. It was pretty busy for noon:thirty on a Wednesday. There was two people in front of me in line and the girl at the register moved quickly and efficiently with the orders. As I was waiting I noticed a sign that they had specials every day of the week. Each day a different sub (size medium) was only $5.55. Wednesday just happens to be the Hook and Ladder sub, which also happens to be my favorite sandwich. I ordered my sub, the girl asked if I wanted a combo, which I kindly declined. Just wanted the sandwich and swiftly finished up my order to help the next guest. But if you do want a combo it's only $1.99 more for a drink and chips. Chips you pick up yourself and drinks you pour from their 100+ variety Coca-Cola machiney thing. I didn't have to wait long for my order to be ready. There were about 4 people making sandwiches and it was less than 7 mins before they called my name for my to go order. Overall the service has been good here. But it's always better during the busy times believe it or not. When it's slow, so are the workers. read more

I would get better service at a Popeyes. The woman working behind the counter seems to be pissed off that she has to be at work. No one was created the entire time when they walked in. I have been eating the hook and ladder for year.. when I opened the box a gnat flew out. there was VERY LITTLE turkey, no cheese, a couple of mushrooms and cold.. the sandwich was not steamed. We had placed the order online and picked it up to go so we were on the road before we discovered this. My husbands spicy meatball was good. Drink station was trashed. Ok place for lunch. Find it a little pricey for what you get. The small is a 4inch sandwich, bag of chips, and a drink for close to $8. This place is unbelievable. 7 employees behind the counter and it still takes 20 minutes to get our order? And you guessed it. It's wrong!! They're all a bunch of young kids working (and I use that term loosely) playing around, paying no attention to customers, getting orders wrong then treating the customer like it's their fault. I was waiting in the car and he came out to get something to dry his hands on, said the men's room was completely trashed out!!! Now...makes me wonder what or IF those terribly BUSY hard working employees are washing their hands and drying them with??? With Covid you can bet we have made our last visit to this Firehouse Subs. All worker do not have on mask, some had on shield which is not a good protector of the food below them if they spit while talking. This is is my second time visiting this location and LAST. The first time I waited 30 min, my sub was wrong and they didn't refund as promised. Today, I ordered online and the sub wasn't ready when I got there not to mention I was on hold 7 min trying to call and make sure they warmed my sub up this time. As I walked in the building it wasn't that busy and the response was " ohh sorry about that " when I showed them my phone holding for 7 min. I ordered three sandwich trays for an event this past Saturday. I had some very specific needs (no onions, all dressing on side, mix of white and wheat) and the order came EXACTLY right and right on time. Two things I am a huge fan of...accuracy and timeliness! My only reason for not giving a 5 is that when we went in to place the order the bathroom was not working properly, the people behind the counter didn't seem to know much about catering offers and couldn't answer basic questions until they called the manager over. The manager was GREAT and knew all the answers to my questions and was extremely helpful in planning how much was needed. I had initially ordered two boxes and then with some last minute additions to attendees, had to call the morning of and add another box, but different variety, of sandwiches because I NEVER want to be short on food. Really appreciate that the order came 100% correct even with additional items ordered just two hours before delivery! Many places would not have accommodated that request or it would have come with errors...trust me, I've BTDT with those types of changes. Have not eaten inside Firehouse Subs, but it was clean and bright when I was in there and the tables seemed plentiful for even a crazy lunch rush. This is orders of magnitude better tasting than Subway and significantly better than JJ in my opinion as well. Plus, I am so against the social policies of JJ and VERY much love that you can donate to the foundation at Firehouse, I think it is going to be a solid contender in the rotation for lunch orders! I once went to a Firehouse Subs in Rock Hill, SC years ago and remembered it being good. Decided to grab a sammich today and just happened to be driving past another Firehouse. I ordered a New York Steamer and a Steak and Cheese for later. The bread that it was served on was nice and soft and the fillings on both sandwiches were delicious. My issue is that the ratio of filling to bread was way off. I think the sub could be used twice as much filling in both subs. In fact, I was able to eat the steak and cheese that I ordered for later because the first one wasn't as filling as I would have expected from the picture in the store of the New York Steamer. The service was friendly and everything tasted good but when it comes to a sandwich nobody wants more bread than filling. read more

I personally love fire house subs but I will not be coming back to this location. Not only because the girls working did not do their job, and were all too busy socializing to work. But the manager was calling the only girl who was working fat. This poor girl asked for help making all the sandwiches and the manager said no you do it and then proceeded to call the girl fat. This to me as a customer is unacceptable and really give this company a bad rep.
