Don't get the Lady In Red! I promise if you do no other sushi will ever taste delicious to you again. The sushi here is always fresh, the specials are tasty and also very beautifully plated when you dine in. It's packaged very well for dine out and is usually not more than an hour wait to receive it. Miso soup is also very good here. It's down the street from one if the malls, I forget which, but both are close so it's a convenient place to grab lunch during a shipping trip. I can't think of anything displeasing in regards to this restaurant so I guess I have no cons to list for you guys, sorry! All jokes aside definitely check this place out. My wife and I have been there quite a few times and the service and food were both outstanding as always. The entire staff is very welcoming and makes sure your experience is the best. We haven't gotten take out as we like to sit and relax but we notice the take out operation runs perfectly and the food appears to be packed perfectly. I got the Lady In Red roll and the California roll today, and I LOVED the Lady in Red. It was so pretty and delicious. Sweet and spicy. My friend got a roll topped with pineapple and I can't remember the name but it was really good too. I think California rolls are pretty much the same everywhere, I like getting them as a side roll. One side of spicy mayo is $1.25 which I thought was kind of unnecessary but I love getting extra spicy mayo so I'd get it again. Service was attentive. After some apprehension of entering what was a Kentucky Fried Chicken perhaps a decade ago (memories die hard), we bit the bullet and entered Blu Karma. We were glad we did. Overall, sushi was fresh, chinese dishes packed a punch, and service was swift and friendly. We'll be returning to try out some of the more creative sushi rolls as soon as we can. Danvers friends had been raving about Blu Karma for a while and it did not disappoint. We were seated quickly on a Saturday night amid a flurry of take-out orders. The inside is tight and features a sushi bar, but we snagged a table for four along the windows. The waitress promptly served us water and drinks, and overall the service was swift to bring out two sushi dishes (Naruto and a Spicy Tuna roll) followed by several chinese dishes (chicken chow foon, eggplant with garlic sauce, salt and peppered jumbo shrimp, and ma po tofu). Sushi was excellent and very fresh, especially the Salmon Naruto (not my first choice), which in other places can be too wet. Spicy tuna topped others I've had in the area and I was sad that our party wasn't into sushi to try out some of the more creative rolls (I'll be back for those). Chinese dishes were great as well, very hot and fresh, and well-liked, though the salt and peppered shrimp was unexpectedly tempura style. Ma po tofu was tasty and worth trying. Overall, a great meal for a moderate price and promises of more inventive sushi during our next visit. read more

Just getting around to posting a review. The food here was stupendous! Went early for dinner and got a table for two very quickly. A friend suggested that I try the Hawaiian maki. OMG I am in love with this dish. I wish I didn't have to share. Next time I will get my own. We also had the Red Sox maki which I also loved. Spicier than I usually have. Def five stars. Wow this food was so good! Surprising last minute date night we went out for chinese food somewhere. And this place was still open! I think this used to be an old KFC spot back in the day so it's cozy inside. But the white tablecloths really added a intimate atmosphere. The sushi rolls were great. Loved trying this new place a month ago the crab chips you get for checking in alone would make me go back but I loved everything that hit our table; appetizers, entrees, sushi, and drinks. When we dined in for lunch, the service was okay.. it wasn't very busy, maybe only a couple other tables but our server didn't seem happy we were there or something. It was kindof off putting. Usually I search for 4+ star restaurants, bookmark them and try to dine there when I want to go out. I've been to Blu karma 3 times, first two were very delicious I would give 4 out of 5, but the third time we went wasn't that pleasant. Sushi didn't look fresh and didn't taste anything near the first two times. Since this place is 20 miles from where I live I think it doesn't worth the driving. I've been here two times and both times I really enjoyed myself. The restaurant is exceptionally clean and well decorated inside. Everyone that works there is so nice and you can tell they really care about their guests. They would stop by occasionally to check in and say hello. We all got maitais and they were tasty and had a nice bite. They're served in cute little mason jars with a fresh fruit garnish. I started with the crab and avocado salad which was light, refreshing, tasty and had a beautiful presentation. We then split some sushi. We had the Lady in Red (my fav), the Blue Karma which was really unique and I liked it a lot, a spicy tuna and a Philadelphia roll. All were fresh and delicious. We then got the spicy edamame which was delish, had a nice heat to it. Next, we got this rice and chicken dish that was served in a cut in half pineapple. I'm not sure what the flavor in it was, curry? but it was so delicious and rich tasting. We were all so full at that point but still devoured the dish. 5 Stars and can't wait to go back! read more

The service was right on the line of unfriendly (except the the grand show made of server/manager/owner all taking turns visiting/worshipping/comping apps and drinks to BILLY: The asphalt shingle king of Peabody or some shit) but for all us regular people who aren't regulars with side deals to offer as a roofer it was forgotten appetizers, long waits to order/get order/ask for check/run card, etc. and serious attitude as a reward. NOT the sort of experience I expect when dropping $80+ on one appetizer and two moderately okay noodle dishes. There are plenty of places with food this good and no superiority complex. We have been struggling to find a sushi place in our area that was as delicious as Thyme Sushi in North Andover and we are so happy to have found this place 5 mins from our house! We got the free crap chips for checking in with the Yelp app. Worth it for a free app! They were pretty good too! Then had the chicken wings which were great. But what we really came for was the sushi! We had the Blu Karma roll which is a specialty roll and it was so fresh tasting and amazing! Next came the Idaho (sweet potato) roll and spicy tuna roll. I would pass on the Idaho next time...didn't wow us but was still good. The spicy tuna, a very basic roll, was honestly the best spicy tuna roll I've ever had! It was pretty spicy and had scallions and a crunch too. Amazing. Lastly came the black and white roll (I think that's what it is called) and that was a fried roll of amazingness! Get it! If you are a sushi connoisseur you HAVE to try Blu Karma! The north shore's best sushi! The sushi is the freshest and tastiest on the North Shore, rivaling even the best that Boston has to offer. From now on, this is definitely the place that I'll bring people when I want to show them good sushi. The presentation was excellent, and the wait time for our food was not nearly as long as some other sushi specialists in the area. Our wait staff was entertaining and friendly, and spoke english perfectly. Blu Karma also has great Asian cuisine staples. I had a perfectly prepared pan fried noodles, which included delectable bites of contrasting crispy fried and well cooked noodles. They don't skimp on the meat portions either! To top it off, Blu Karma has a full bar, including sake, with several large TVs. Surprisingly, this doesn't detract from the Asian-cuisine feel of the restaurant and is a nice added touch. While I was there, they appropriately had the day's college football games on. This is an added bonus that I didn't expect, and points to them for having the right games on! I've seen the great reviews about this place on Yelp and could not wait to try it. I was certainly not disappointed and will be coming back to the place again and again.
