The hot stone was novel, but my ribeye was tough and sinewy; not a very good cut. The decor and setting were ok, the location is great so they're set for success. So we had a booking of nine for 8pm and we walked in at at 8pm on the dot - we were seated at a high long table - not great for socialising - the strange thing was that there were a few tables that wold have been better for us that weren't occupied. Some of our group had arrived 15 minutes earlier and had got their own drinks at the bar but we weren't offered drinks until 20 minutes after we arrived - pretty poor. Next up the food ordering - terrible! There were a few reasons it was terrible; They messed up the sides order, one of us didn't get their side until they were nearly finished the meal. Secondly the serving technique was poor, they slid our meals under the central raised bit of the table which was strange and quite annoying. Finally having walked in at 8pm we were served our mains at 9:10pm - an hour and ten minutes to me seems like a long wait! Ok, that's the negatives out of the way, now on to the positives. I ordered a Medium Rare Surf 'n' Turf and it came out absolutely perfectly cooked - it was literally mouth watering! My side of potato bravas was also excellent. The chorizo was kind of ground up and poured over the potatoes which was right up my street. We also had some flat breads for starters which were great. The ham hock flat bread was particularly good. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great - I love how you can see in to the open kitchen, particularly the meat cooking on the wood fire. So to sum up, three stars is fair - the service really lets it down - they could have made a shed load of money from our party on drinks alone if they were more on the ball!

I got Spicy Pear and Parsnip Soup with homemade wheaten bread to start, she got Portobello Mushroom with Blue Cheese, Rocket, Sunblush Tomatoes, Red Onion, Parmesan and Balsamic. I have to say this soup was an absolute delight, and i congratulate the use of the humble (Yet hard to find a decent one in Alaska) parsnip, it was superb, with a kick of heat to elevate it. Just a touch of sweetness from the pear, but it was sublime. The wheaten bread, used extensively throughout Irish restaurants was delicious and hearty, and a perfect accompaniment to the creamy thick soup. She adored her gigantic portobello, which was full of cheesy goodness. For our entrees, i selected the Italian Chicken which was a butterflied breast, topped with Parma ham wrapped around Brie, and a rocket salad with balsamic, she went for the Wild Mushroom Linguine, which was drizzled with truffle oil. I must say, it was different than anything I've had before, the cheese with the Parma ham was a really delicious enhancement, to the chicken which can sometimes be bland, but not on this occasion. The rocket and balsamic were beautiful. She couldn't finish her linguine - pasta can be filling i find, she did enjoy the selection of mushrooms. Despite the fact that the prix fixe was 2 for 12 pounds, we opted to get a dessert regardless. Just because we'd earned it, with some hard walking that day. She got a chocolate brownie with fudge sauce, and whipped cream, and i got a banana sundae that i simply could not finish. All in all, it was a delicious meal.

Going on no other information than the car park was packed, we hung a u-turn and pulled in. No reservation, Friday night, packed car park, I expected to be told to sling my hook, or wait 40 minutes for a table, but the nice host even helped find a threenager appropriate table upstairs for us to sit at, no wait - excellent first impression. The blonde dude upstairs (I didn't catch his name) got us sorted with drinks quickly, order in, starters came out in good time. Col enjoyed the black pudding scotch egg, my brother, threenager and I enjoyed the garlic cheese ciabatta. But the mains were the moneyshot. Col had the shredded duck w/ sweet potato fries, brother had the beef chili penne w/ salt and chili chips, threenager had the chicken penne carbonara and I had the fillet steak w/ chips and veggies for the table. I. can't. even. On how good this food was. My steak was cooked to perfection - exactly the way I asked (which, as it turns out, has been difficult for NI chefs to accomplish to date), and not an ounce of fat to be seen! Worse, I could not tell if the duck was lamb or beef at first, it had such a "meh" flavor. The sauces also did not add much, again the one exception the mint sauce for the lamb. Overall it was a huge (and impressive) portion of meet but nothing that tasty.

This suited us as we were after a quick lunch. I'm currently trying to start a wee health kick so I decided against burgers or steaks. I ended up going for a crab pot. It came out beautifully presented (see picture) with a lovely cucumber and lemon garnish and a side of local wheaten bread. I also went for a filter coffee that was delivered within minutes of ordering. I really enjoyed my visit, although I'd love to go back and sample the service and atmosphere on a busier evening. The decor has been put together really well, the long mirror gives a spacious feel to a small intimate restaurant. Definitely would recommend a visit, the menu is large so you'll find something you like. This is more of a 3.5 than a 4 but I'm generous!

First things first - this restaurant is part of the Made in Belfast group of restaurants to the decor etc is quirky where very little matches. From the menu I ordered the Mousetrap burger. This meal came with onion rings and skinny fries on the side as standard. This was a winner for me, as the restaurant universe of late has been presenting sides as an optional offering rather than an inclusive wonder. So bravo to strip joint for throwing in 2 sides. The only disappointments I had were that we found out the burger wasn't actually made on grounds - something I thought a steakhouse should've been doing. It's still one of our favourite places to go for a special meal, and we'll definitely be back, but only for the steaks until the burgers are upgraded a little.

First up was a bit of dinner, and this was undoubtedly going to be a good one. Molly Brown's run this 2 courses for £10 offer from 12-9pm Monday to Thursday, and from 12-6pm on Friday and Saturday, which is really very good value for money. There's a huge variety too and definitely something for everyone - from garlic bread starters to roast stuffed pepper mains. I chose the bread and oils starter, which down an absolute treat (including down my top, which didn't go down quite so well...), and for the mains I had a burger which wasn't half a bad 'un. So far so good. We happened to be there on a Thursday night (incidentally, as Geraldine mentioned, quiz night), so we weren't going anywhere any time soon. Between the meal and quiz, we got some drinks (Strawberry Daiquiris were all the rage) and had a bit of craic. Speaking of the daiquiris, I got a lesson in making one from the exceptionally friendly barman. Excellent. The quiz man (who's an absolute hoot) did arrive a good bit late, but we were all so pumped for the quiz (ok, I was), that we didn't mind too much. Throughout all the rounds our team were in second place until the very last round. As Mr Quizmaster announced the scores, we listened for our name and realised we'd come top...with another team! They have a long list of cocktails as well as your standard man refreshments - beer! I heart Molly's because they run fantastic little offers every now and again. Sex and the City 2 premier night had a free cocktail, tickets and a bus to the cinema and back for a cheap as chips price! Trips to Down Royal racecourse are also run through the bar - the classic a pint and a bet. Kelvin, the manager, will happily whip you out 'a steak on a stone' from the kitchen while you look at the lovely paintings of local areas by local artists. Seriously, I could go on and on about this place...the food is really good with a starter and a main for a tenner. They even hosted my fiances 30th birthday party for no charge and allowed me to decorate the whole place with pictures of him in his nappy! So accommodating, affordable, friendly and I swear i'm not even getting paid to write this but I am going to print off a copy and take it in and try to get a free cocktail out of it!

I got a vegetarian red curry here and a portion of Thai crackers. The curry portion was generous and the vegetables, including red pepper, peas and carrots were fresh and tasty. I particularly enjoy the tofu and potato. The Thai crackers (£1.5) are far better than Chinese crackers too even though Chinese takeaway tend to provide free crackers with main meal orders. I've also enjoyed hot spicy curries for years, and maybe it's an age thing, but I find their vegetarian curry to be very hot, maybe it's just me and an age thing but I now add a teaspoon of sugar to their curry to help balance the spice - it works up to a point. They have a notice up advising no variation to dishes - perhaps this is to keep their food authentic or maybe to prevent cheaper ingredients being substituted for more expensive ones. The coconut rice too (£2.5) is really flavoursome. In an earlier review of this place I'd noted that the additional food cost of this takeaway tested against main dishes from local Chinese takeaways might harm business. The fact is that while this remains the case, Chinese takeaway prices have since increased, but poor quality, poor tasting Chinese food is still endemic here and the quality and fresh taste of this Thai food is very far ahead by any measure and worth the extra cost and I'll stick with them.
