Tonight I ordered a vodka tonic and it was the flattest drink I ever had, didn't see or taste any carbonation. So then I ordered a glass of wine, I saw them using a shot glass when pouring the wine. I've never been to Hudson but I was in the area and obviously I needed to try some place local. I got a selection of food to-go and can happily say it was very solid. I stuck to my usual: palak paneer, chicken tika masala, garlic naan, mango lassi and kheer for dessert. The prices are comparable to my local Indian places which is great. Absolutely a fantastic experience from beginning to end. We were greeted by a wonderfully cheerful waitress who seated us quickly and provided us with recommendations for drinks and dishes. It's clear she was passionate about the food they serve! I recommend their Nimbu mocktail, a spiced lemonade drink made with Sprite, lime, mint, and savory spices. It's different but very tasty! We enjoyed a Gobi Manchurian appetizer, a spicy deep-fried cauliflower dish. Again, an excellent dish! I ordered the Blu Basil mixed grill with two varieties of chicken, lamb kabob, and shrimp. Absolutely delicious and a massive amount of food. Somehow I managed to finish, probably because it was just so good! My wife enjoyed the shrimp and scallop do piazza dish and the results were similar. Terrific flavor and a very ample portion! If you enjoy Indian food, do not miss this amazing establishment. Superior service levels compared to traditional Indian restaurants. Great tasting Samosas. We ordered Lamb Korma and Meethi Malai Paneer with Tandoori Roti and rice for dinner. Food tasted great with balanced spice levels and an accurate heat (spicy) level. The ras malai for dessert was pretty good but a little over sweet. The only thing that did not go right during the entire meal was their lassi which was a tad bit too tart / sour compared to normal. read more

We had a delicious meal here. We had been when it was Jaipur Junction. It was pretty good then but it's even better now. It's small and cozy. We had the picnic balls and vegetable pakora for appetizers. I also ordered a cucumber raita and it was about the best I've had. My wife had chicken tikka masala, and I had the goat curry. Everything was delicious. We also had some garlic naan. The flavors were outstanding. A lot of times if you order goat curry it can be over cooked but this was just right. Every dish was spectacular starting with the MulaGattani soup along with the mixed grill and curry chicken. Do yourself a favor and get at least two orders of the tandoori baked naan bread. I love Indian cuisine, and there's just not a lot of it out there. Blu Basil is small inside, but well-appointed. Service is super-attentive and quick. All of our dishes were good to delicious. My only complaint was the portion size of the tasting menu. We had four diners, so vegetarian and non-vegetarian tasting platters ($32 and $45 respectively) seemed like our best bet. Alas, every entree arrived in teacup-sized dishes. Needless to say, all of us left the place still hungry and that was a shame. read more

This is a new Indian restaurant and replaces Jaipur Junction. The food is of high quality and great taste. I tried the Lamb Vindaloo at the highest level of spiciness. It was exquisite! My wife tried the beef Korma, which was delicate but delicious. Finally, in opposition to the current trends, the place is open for lunch and dinner. Although they didn't listen to me when I ordered ..... I ordered Tiki Chicken Masala but got Chicken Patiala instead , wondered why I found a hard boiled egg and no green peppers ;) it was fine and close enough but still it was a huge question mark .. the quality and quantity of the food was better than I had hoped for , my only complaint is their Nan was more like pita .. I'm spoiled to have some very good Indian restaurants that I eat at while in New Jersey . I'll try Blu Basil again but will have to ask them to repeat my order .
