Went here for a lunch buffet, overall wasn't bad at all, limited options, I was at Bombay sitars lunch buffet several years ago and expecting a bigger selection like them. However their tandoori chicken was very good and worth the price alone. The gentlemen working showed us some recommendations to eat the food how they would which was nice to learn a bit of their culture and style. Looks wise it was fine. I was hoping for a great experience here and definitely got one! We went late at night so the restaurant was quiet and service was fast, welcoming, and friendly. The booths were cozy and the entire restaurant looks well-cleaned and taken care of. Between two of us we ordered tandoori chicken and chicken tikka masala, as well as garlic naan and rice. I got a masala tea to drink and a mango lassi before leaving. All the food was DELICIOUS! Comparable to my favorite Indian restaurants back home in Los Angeles and unique in its flavor. We ate every last bite of food. The tandoori chicken was flavorful and juicy, the chicken tikka masala was rich and paired perfectly with the rice and naan. The garlic naan was also excellent, just the right blend between soft, pillowy, and crispy on the edges. Had been meaning to try this place for quite some time. There aren't a lot of Indian restaurants in the Akron area, so I had great hopes. First impression of the dining room was not positive, and the booth seating was terribly uncomfortable, but many a good meal has come from a hole in the wall that wasn't impressive just to view. Unfortunately, I can't say that is the case here. They did have a long list of vegetarian options, which is a plus. I chose the Eggplant Masala. Now I don't know what the "chef" was thinking, but it arrived with all of the stems still attached to the [not very finely] cut eggplants. Why would anyone do this? Having to cut stems off of each bit of food is ridiculous. The flavor of the sauce was acceptable, but I also question leaving all the skins of the eggplant intact. As for the na'an, it was probably the driest I have ever been served in an Indian restaurant. The wait staff also seemed highly disorganized, and when I asked for my check, I was told that no one brings you a check. You have to go up to the register and they will just ring you up? Huh? I could have sat in my booth for hours waiting for a check and never gotten one. Needless to say, I don't think this place will warrant any return visits. read more

Third time enjoying their meals! Have to stop here if you are driving through Kent, OH for fantastic Indian food. We always have gone for lunch and take out seems busier than sit down. All three of our meals today were perfect. The requested heat was spot on. The Gobi Manchurian was the very best we have ever had--First time we order it here. Service was fast and friendly. We were checked on through out the meal. The amount of rice was plentiful and meal portion sizes allowed for a second meal for lighter eaters. AMAZING INDIAN FOOD!! So many delicious vegetarian options. I usually opt for anything with spinach! Lately I've been loving the aloo sag ! The rice is phenomenal and so is the naan. The garlic naan is my favorite. This place is packed with flavor !!! I have only ordered takeout and delivery and it's been amazing so I am looking forward to sitting inside and trying the food! I only have FANTASTIC things to say about this place. We dined in and we got takeout and it doesn't matter how you eat with them, their food is the best!!! When my husband and I dined in on opening day, they were super friendly and very informative. It is not often that I am able to eat authentic, so I had many questions. They were patient and helpful. They answered all my questions and I loved the information. Their medium heat is perfect for me. Enough that I know it's there, and clears out my sinuses, but not so much that I can't enjoy the flavors. PERFECT!! Their food comes out temperature hot and looks delicious! I love the jasmine saffron rice. Even take out is hot and I live 10 minutes away. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE! The restaurant is clean, neat and pleasantly decorated. I did not visit the restrooms, but everything else was wonderful! Plenty of room from other people and I loved how the people we dealt with wore masks. We were lucky enough to speak with the owner. We ordered the fried cauliflower appetizer. It wasn't nearly as good as what I've had at other Indian restaurants. To me, it seemed like all they did was fry it in some type of generic batter, just like onion rings or something. Ordered the shrimp curry for the main. Despite telling the waiter we wanted it to be a "medium" hotness, it was totally bland. Had almost no spice. I would have mentioned this to the waiter if he had checked on us, but after the food was dropped off he never came around again. I actually had to get up and find him at one point so we could request more rice. The restaurant wasn't even busy. Our party of four adults and three children had lunch at Singh Biryani. We all had the buffet to keep things simple. We were told that nothing should be too spicy for the kids, ages 3-6. I'll admit that they're picky to begin with, so the only thing they wanted besides the fruit and naan, was a noodle dish that was definitely spicy. We felt the food was mediocre. I started with a taste of each of the dishes...just a bite full really, and I only went back for the tandoori chicken. It was the only thing I felt was worth eating, besides a noodle dessert and their rice pudding. The kids did like the strawberry lassi as well. The atmosphere was fine and they accommodated our larger group with small kids, which was great, but the food missed the mark for us. The service was fine, they kept their buffet full and fresh, but we did have to ask for things like silverware and they didn't bring enough waters for the whole group. So I was thrilled when I saw them open a second location in a spacious restaurant in Kent. I cane to Kent 23 years ago to work, and I've been saying for that long that they needed a good Indian restaurant! They finally have one, and this is it. The service can be...different, at times, alternating bt too many check ins, and not enough -- but it certainly isn't bad service. Regardless, the food more than makes up this minor issue. I really wanted to like this place. To be fair, I have not eaten here. I walked in and had to immediately leave. I found there was a strong, pungent chemical smell permeating the entry area. I posted this review to warn potential patrons concerned for their health, but mostly as constructive criticism for the owners. Dining at Singh Biryani was my first taste of authentic Indian cuisine. I've bought the jarred sauces at the store and didn't expect them to compare to the real thing, though I enjoy them. But wow--getting food here was so delightful. Huge chunks of deliciously fresh vegis sautéed perfectly in the dishes we got--chicken tikka masala and chicken Biryani. We also got a salad and the garlic naan since there were so many suggestions for the naan in other reviews. Like others mentioned, portions are large and served family style. I ate my leftovers as 2 more meals! Everything was very aromatic and I can't say enough about the freshness and flavors. There were also several other items on the menu that were enticing, so we have no choice but to repeatedly go back to try more. The ambience inside is also very nice. I had never been in here when it was the Chinese restaurant beforehand, but it didn't look like much from the outside. Service was great and we watched several people come and go with takeout boxes, so I think it is no longer a secret that this new location is serving delicious food. I hope and pray they are a new staple in the Kent restaurant scene that sticks because there is nothing else quite like it in the area and they are doing it with perfection! read more

This place is strange. We tried to go there about a year ago and it was 'closed' despite the Open signs being on. This time, we hit it between 3-4 which is a BAD idea. This is between buffet time and dinner time and appear to be a shift change. My food was good. I had Dal Makhani and Naan bread. My wife and daughter got Chicken Korma and Butter Chicken and they both took about 1 bite and 'took it home'. The didn't bring us drinks or refills at all and everything appeared to be messed up. Additionally because they had this 'shift change' they let us nibble on the dregs of the buffet until 4. This was supposed to be free of charge but I found a charge on my bill. This was not a good experience which is really a shame because we will be visiting Kent a lot on the next few years. read more

So.........living in Kent you get to know people from all over the world. A friend who was born and raised in India, highly recommended this place. They said it's the #2 place in Ohio for authentic Indian food. They are closed on Mondays so we went on Tuesday at noon: when we arrived, we were seated immediately and I asked for a coffee. They brought me this tea drink that is made with whole milk....not at all what I expected to be delivered but man was it good. Our server was a young guy, who knew the menu inside and out, he was a total pro and I wouldn't be surprised if he was a manager or owner. Answered all our questions and made recommendations Let me first say the portions are enormous. You can pick between mild medium and hot for spice levels. My wife went with mild/medium and I went with straight medium. I will say as a spice lover, I would go with medium/hot next time. Medium was spicy but just a touch. If you go here GET THE GARLIC NAAN! It's so amazing and fresh. Your breath will be horrendous afterwards but it's worth it let me tell you. We ordered a second serving at the end of our meal. If you are not a huge eater, you could really split one of the meals: I am in a perpetual state of hunger so I ate the mixed plate and about a third of the egg rice along with an order of naan to myself, But the portions as I said were massive. This was the first of many trips to this gem. It was such a dive into a completely unknown and foreign style of food and cooking I never have experienced before!! read more

Delicious food with great value! It's a nice long menu with a lot of variety, so there's something for everyone! The food is legit spicy (not American spicy), which is great. The only complaint I have is that some of the different sauces /varieties for the same protein taste so similar we couldn't tell the difference side by side. They were both good though! read more

This is hands-down the best Indian food I've had in the Cleveland-Akron area in the past 25 years! We ordered vegetable biryani, veggie app sampler, and paneer makhani. All were perfectly seasoned, hot, and well-presented. The service was slow, but kind of normal for the times. Luckily we weren't in a hurry, so it was fine. The food was worth the wait! Went here last evening for dinner. Seems like a good location (on main road, close to college campus). Only open ~ 1 month, so some of the staff are still learning. Food was very good, service was quick. 4 spice levels: mild, medium, hot, Indian hot. Note - the mild does have a bit of a tingle to it. My wife's a mild, i tried medium this time, will try hot next time. My wife had chicken biryani, serving was large enough for 2 people. I had masala mushrooms, more than i could eat at 1 sitting. Hoping that there will be a buffet in the future - that's a great way to introduce newby's to Indian food. This place is connected to the Indian Grocery in Cuyahoga Falls, and the smaller Singh Biryani location there. Good people, good food. read more

So good and affordable compared to other nearby Indian restaurants. The food is always burning hot and correctly packaged in takeout orders. Best in the area! The rice is fragrant. The meat is tender. The sauces are to die for. I've tried a lot on their menu and you can't go wrong. I recommend the chicken korma. Their spice levels feel reasonably spaced and are always accurate. Level 3 spice is intense, level 2 is pleasantly warm, and level one is just a hint of spice. I only recommend 3 if you have tried spicy Indian before. Give this place a try!
