Read how the owner responds to any criticism. It's very revealing. When you experience faulty or non functional equipment (the massage chair) as part of your salon experience, (one of your favorite parts of the experience) and you relate that in your review, it's very invalidating to have the owner basically say, "Yeah but that's not what we provide. We provide a pedicure and you got a good pedicure so you should be happy." Oh and it actually IS one of the core services I'm looking at when choosing a pedicure place. I won't get one where they don't have massage chairs. And one of the reasons I actually sat down in your place after the lukewarm blasé welcome from the ball cap wearing teenage girl with no smile or friendly attitude (seriously I wonder if someone is making her be here against her will) was because it looked so clean and the chairs looked new and I thought it would be a really good massage chair. When I was in my broken chair, my sister called me, and I told her about the chair problem, and the first thing outta her mouth was, "Oh girl that's the best part!!" I replied, I know right?! And I thought they'll probably move me to another chair, but I got off the phone and nobody said anything about moving to another chair or even asking me if I wanted to. Maybe the owner doesn't feel like it's a big part of the experience, but I do and I'm the customer. I feel the correct response to my review would have been something along the lines of, " I am so sorry your experience wasn't perfect here, We want to make sure you leave completely satisfied and it sounds like that didn't happen. Please give us another try and we will make sure you have a functioning chair and are completely happy with your pedicure! I apologize no one asked you if you would like to move to another chair while you were here and your chair wasn't working I'll make sure we do better next time! That's something that would have made me come back to this salon. But maybe that wasn't what she was looking for. ‍ I find it's never a good look to be adversarial with your customer. read more

I recently visited Blooming Nails on a Sunday for a manicure ($65) and pedicure ($45), and unfortunately, it was a very frustrating experience from start to finish. The Service I explicitly asked the technician to keep my fingernails at their current length. Despite this, she proceeded to cut them very short. Once they are cut, there is no going back, which was incredibly disappointing. During the polishing phase, she made mistakes on three different nails and had to sand them down and repaint them. The Quality When I got home and looked closely, the nails were bumpy and textured, almost as if I had bumped them against the dryer--which I did not. They were not smooth to the touch at all. To make matters worse, by Tuesday night (the first day of my vacation), the polish on two of my toes had already peeled off. The Management & Refund Process I called to express my disappointment, and they offered to redo them on Monday. I went in to show them the poor quality, but because I was leaving for vacation the next day, I didn't have time for a full redo and requested a refund instead. The interaction became uncomfortable when the staff member claimed I "come in all the time." I rarely splurge on these services for myself, and after asking her to check their records, she saw my last visit was actually a year and a half ago. It reminded me exactly why I hadn't been back. Eventually, she agreed to credit my card. The Bottom Line: While I will say the young lady who performed the pedicure was very friendly and kind, the actual results were unacceptable. I paid $140 (including tip) for a service that didn't even last 48 hours. Save your time and money and find somewhere else to go. read more

I used to come to this nail salon all the time when I lived in Petaluma, and my last review was a five-star because I consistently had great experiences and quality work. I recently visited again and while I will say the remodel is really beautiful--the space looks modern, clean, and much nicer than before--I'm disappointed to say the quality of service doesn't seem to match the upgraded aesthetic. I had recommended this salon to a few friends who still live in the area, so I felt like my word was on the line. One of my friends was generous enough to pay for all three of our services, which came out to over $200 for manicures with chrome. Unfortunately, all three of us experienced the same issue: the chrome started chipping and flaking in less than a week. These were meant to be my vacation nails and carry me into the new year. I wasn't doing any heavy labor, washing dishes, or anything that would normally cause wear. Because of how quickly they chipped, I honestly don't even want to start the year with these nails--they just look bad and unfinished. The same thing happened to my friend's nails as well, which made the situation even more disappointing. I truly liked this place and used to trust the work enough to recommend it confidently, which is why this experience was embarrassing for me. While the salon looks better than ever, I hope the quality and attention to detail return to what they used to be, because that's what originally made this place stand out. read more

Editing review because another nail fell off. I used to go here all the time but quality seems to have gone downhill a bit. After they fixed it the second time and added builder gel and a new nail, they looked pretty misshapen and thick. I went back for them to fix again. They look much better finally but are now much shorter than I originally wanted. Hopefully no more fall off. I got gel x short almond with 2 coats funny bunny and 1 coat bubble bath. They always do a really incredible job here! One nail fell off after a couple days (not typical for them) and they fixed it for me no problem! Typically a set like this will last 4 weeks. read more

She always makes me feel welcome! I love how they have an online scheduling system, it's definitely more convenient than calling to make an appointment. They are really good about keeping appt times and will serve you drinks while waiting or during your service. I was visiting the area and decided to give them a call to see if they had any walk-ins available and the receptionist was very nice and accommodating for same day appointments. I've been looking for a good spot that's closer to home for me to get calming and good pedicure. The vibe and ambiance is great and they even provide champagne. Nancy is amazing! She was so thorough and super calming that I actually fell asleep. It was a much needed good experience for me and I appreciated the fact that they could fit me in within a day. Had one of the worse experiences here. Came to get my acrylic set removed and normally they file them down and then remove them with a liquid instead the lady working on my nails used a nail tip to remove them which cause on of my nails natural nails to rip in the center. Head Spa Treatment - i booked this treatment about a week and a half ago. I was so excited to see that one of our local businesses had started doing it. I decided to go for the full head spa experience, which was pretty expensive, but looking at everything they offered I was really excited to get it done. I would say they have a decent way to go before they are good at this. The beds in the room were extremely hard, so laying down for an hour and a half for the treatment was extremely uncomfortable. Getting up at the end was difficult and because of the angle of the bed I felt like I'd been dangled by my feet... my eyes were extremely puffy! I also got the sense that perhaps my provider was not as experienced in this service as she should have been. There were several times where she got some of the implements tangled in my hair, to the point where she was scrubbing so aggressively that then she would have to stop and pick my hair out of the tines of whatever she was using . Unfortunately, I ended up with a lot of breakage because of this. My person was also extremely aggressive when they were scrubbing my head and what went from a nice relaxing experience actually became uncomfortable. She also struggled with the warming boots that she put on my feet and at one point I actually had to ask her to turn them off because they were so hot, they were burning my heels. I really wanted to love this experience, but I do feel extremely disappointed that an hour and a half and $175 with tip later ( she gave me a discount for some reason, I'm wondering if it was because she was new), I definitely left the salon feeling much less relaxed, and almost sore, than when I went in. I think the most frustrating part about this experience was that I've tried to reach out to them several times leaving messages, phone calls and DMs and nobody has bothered to return my call about this. I would say until they get more practice with this service, I would definitely avoid it. read more

Came in for a pedicure and it was amazing. Day did such a great detailed job on my toes I was pleasantly surprised. He massaged my legs and feet which was nice and relaxing. We had a nice conversation about traveling and what are some good places to travel to. Everything was nice and clean and the new decor was quite lovely. I will be requesting Day for my pedicures and will be coming on a more regular basis. The atmosphere is relaxing and super friendly. I called and was fit in over the weekend, and was told a manicure would be no problem. The place was clearly understaffed because we waited for 10 minutes without even getting our nails soaked so I'm not sure why they would say to come in. When the service finally started, the technician seemed in a huge rush, and the staff across the room were talking loudly about their tips and pay, which was incredibly unprofessional. To make it worse, they asked if I was paying the tip in cash before finishing the service--totally inappropriate. I asked for a basic cleanup (payed for a regular manicure which I expected) because I can't have nail polish for work, and I specifically asked her to be gentle. But of course, she rushed through it and ended up cutting too much skin around my nail, which has led to an infection (paryonicha) on my middle finger. As I was discussing the pain around my fingertip with my doctor, I realized the nail tech never had me wash my hands or sanitize my nails, which could've prevented the infection. This experience is something I would never pay for again. The service was rushed, unprofessional, and now I'm dealing with the consequences. read more

I reserved for my elderly mother a Blooming Mani-Pedi with gel which is about $150 in total without a tip which is not an option. When we arrived, nobody was at the front desk. There is nowhere to sit for waiting customers. The staff walked and said hi but we didn't get served until I proactively noted we had an appointment. They had not even checked their schedule that we had an appointment with a requested service till cash-out. As previously, they left my mother sitting with her feet in a dripping sink and did not help her put her boots back on or provide her with coat. Clearly unprofessional and disorganized. There are so many other nail salon businesses that treat customers including elderly with respect and dignity. My preference would be to give them no stars if possible. In response to your comment to my review, it's clear from reading all the 1star reviews, you continue to raise the same concerns I.e., making customers wait, poor communication skills, over pricing, and refusal to accept constructive criticism. Like others, this wasn't the first time we've come to your salon and it's not improved - it got worse. From a customer perspective, my solution is not to use your services. read more

I went in for a pedicure and noticed they were busy and there were only a few artists all around, I waited my turn but 30 minutes passed and i had a dinner to go to that was 30 minutes out. I kindly waited and was patient but didn't want to come off rude, I let Kim know that I had to head out I know i shouldn't have scheduled if I had something else going on but OH MY GOODNESS they were the sweetest, probably the best service so far (given i didn't get anything done) at a salon i've been to, they were so generous she offered a gift certificate for next time, cut my toe nails at least, and kept apologizing. This place is amazing. It's beyond relaxing and I highly recommend them! I've been in for a pedicure and I came back another time for a head spa treatment. If you're on the fence, do it-- and make sure to book the full head spa treatment. It's way more relaxing than a regular massage and you get a mini facial. I started snoring during the treatment-- seriously that relaxing. I also noticed when I got my pedicure done that they were so accommodating and helpful to an older woman with mobility issues to be able to get a pedicure. They're the best! read more
