If I could give Adrian and his staff 1000 stars, I would. I have searched the world over (no…read moreexaggeration) for a truly brilliant colorist. After two years of searching, I was one click away from booking a flight and hotel from Miami to Philadelphia JUST for an appointment with a renowned colorist there, when I happened upon Adrian's Instagram profile on my discovery page. (Check it out @adriantorressalon) When I saw his work I knew the 45 minute drive into The Gables was WELL worth it. Not only is Adrian a hair genius, he is also so receptive, kind, down to earth and easy to talk to. He approaches you with absolute confidence and ease, that he will seamlessly provide the result of your hair dreams. His staff is so sweet and lovely and extremely professional in everything they do. I was even a little chilly and they brought me a throw. The salon itself is also a reflection of his impeccable taste. It's a neutral but luminous palette, clearly well thought out, upbeat but chill music, with plants adding color and natural beauty. He also has done his homework with the products he uses and sells. He is ONLY quality in everything he brings in and does. Adrian and the stylists who all work together like a well-oiled machine, to bring you through every step of the process are like a SYMPHONY... they play off of each other and time everything so perfectly to the very end where you will literally marvel over the way your hair looks and feels and how it affects your face. It's like being surrounded in a choreographed dance with one unified goal. For you to have heavenly locks. If you are like me and had THE hardest time finding someone who knows what they are doing, seriously, look no further. Yes, he is a bit pricey (but who isn't these days) but I promise you, his art on your head, is WELL worth every, last penny. You truly get what you pay for. I am madly in love with my hair and get endless compliments. They speak Spanish and English so it makes discussing the details of the coiffure plan simple in either case. Something additional is that they graciously host you upon arrival and you will be offered cocktails, high quality as well, in Adrian Torres logo glasses ... how can it get better (as I sip my Prosecco)? Also, I love the bathroom wallcovering. Lol, You'll see when you get there. Be aware that you need to set aside about 4-5 hours which is $12-15 on the parking meters. Street parking is easy but be sure to factor it in. Lastly, be sure to call and ask about pricing so you're not surprised by the total cost. Again, entirely worth how you feel when you leave. AMAZING salon! THE best in Miami, hands down.

UPDATE #2: they have now made a fake number to act as the FBI to lure me into so trap. Screenshot…read moreis attached I was shocked at my hair trauma experience as well as inappropriate and disgusting behavior by the staff. Especially after the reviews I saw online. I had scheduled an appointment with Miguel to get JUST a partial highlight, as I informed him I have K tip extensions that I get taken care of elsewhere for years. The whole appointment Miguel is asking me to go on dates and telling me he could just do my hair at my house next time. That behavior was actually the least of my concerns. When my hair was done, I left the salon with normal highlight touch up, at least I thought. My hair looked slightly thin but I didn't think much of it since it was styled. The next day my 25 inch extensions had zero volume, and the beach waves were completely gone. I texted Miguel the next day asking him if he put a hair masque on my extensions and he told me "yes I put a conditioning mask and didn't charge you". I have NEVER had any extension problems before because I know as a client, not to use this type of treatment on k tips. For the Slovak K Tip extensions I have, they are very very thick and volumous and conditioning treatments thin and ruin them. I was NEVER asked about the mask and never gave consent for this. I was not even being told that I was getting a treatment put into my hair. When I called the salon to speak with the "manager" Angie, I told her what happened, asking for a resolution to my $3100 extensions that were ruined. She interrupted me several times saying "are you done talking yet" then hung up on me out of her anger for not understanding how expensive my extensions are. It has been only 5 days since this appointment and I have now had 7 -K tip extensions come out of my head as well. The reviews on here are great for when they actually do their job, but the unprofessional approach and lack of accountability and to make things right, is where this salon lacks their true credibility. I would say solely after this type of interaction, their licenses are at risk. UPDATE: it has been 12 days after my appointment and I have lost a total of 15 extensions from my hair, in the last 12 days. Gleam also messaged me on Instagram to take down my reviews to give me my refund on my highlights

She didn't know me as this was my first time going to a hairdresser in the USA and she was already so accommodating! Then, on top of all of that, she cornrowed my hair, did the sew-in and styled my hair in 2 hours!!! And don't get it wrong, she did an EXCELLENT job! I met up with friends later that night and they loved the flawless look of my hair. I'm a super cheap person as I am an international student but I am willing to work extra hours to earn enough to pay her prices (which actually aren't high) for such quality work! Unprofessional. My "stylist" Patricia after 11 years decides she no longer wants to do my hair. I…read moretried to get an explanation as to why. She wouldn't answer my texts. She wouldn't see me in person. She called from the salon late in afternoon. It was very noisy in background and she was speaking FAST. I could only hear something about negativity. I have moderate to severe hearing loss coupled with severe tinnitus. She wouldn't let me say anything as she spoke so fast. I managed to ask her not to put words in my mouth, which she rejected and kept uttering words I could barely hear. I had wanted to originally speak to her about the color of my hair she did a full hilight on. There was no way she would speak to me. When I asked her if she would see me one last time, she said she didn't want to "touch my head" I have never complained about her in 11 years. I've been going to her every 7or 8 weeks consistently. I even wrote the owner of the salon Taryn. Her response back was only that she has the right to choose who she wants to service. I get that. She neglected to address that I couldn't hear/understand WHY?! Very unprofessional in my opinion. Thankfully I have found someone who actually gave my hair some style, nice color and way less expensive. I had no idea my type of hair could be styled in any other way than she had for all those years. My new stylist has 30 years of experience, so maybe that's what made the difference. This unprofessional "break up" was a blessing in disguise.
