She was inattentive and spent most of her time on her phone. Despite raising my hand a few times, I couldn't get her attention to order another drink. To make matters worse, she actively served others sitting at the bar while continuing to ignore me. While the first bartender made a great impression, the change in service left me disappointed. I did meet a new friend, which was a highlight, but now I know to enjoy my time there early and head out when the second shift starts.

It was fun, but super hard to get a drink because there were only three bartenders working. By the time you made it through the wall of people to the bar, it was so loud that it was almost impossible to communicate your order. People were living for karaoke and it definitely seems to be on a regular rotation for some of the patrons. The Blind Donkey is definitely a place that you need to check out if you are in town and want a fun evening.

It's a reliable place for me and the hubby to catch cool bands, local or otherwise. They use the DICE app for ticketing and keeps prices reasonable, no doubt from being able to circumvent the LiveNation racket. Their trivia nights are still going strong, and there's always something going on. Even though their outdoor patio has shrunk recently (something beyond their control), it's still one of the best places in Long Beach for live music, provided you're into punk and adjacent genres.
