Came for brunch with friends and it was really good. The service was really quick and if you come early enough it's very easy to pick the seat of your choosing. Dogs are welcome on the balcony.

    Ahi tuna ceviche

I wish this place could have lived up to the expectations set by previous reviews but unfortunately it did not. My biggest complaint is the lack of urgency by staff. Everything took forever, form taking our order down to delivering the bill. Even watching the cook make a single empanada was like watching paint dry. Also, as a former health inspector, please wear gloves when handling food, especially if your kitchen is in view to the public. We also happened to see a server that had once worked at another restaurant we like to frequent, and he/she exhibited the same lackluster attitude from the previous place. The food was a bit bland, as it seemed every dish was missing just that one thing to take it over to a 4 or 5 star review, not taking poor service into consideration. We ordered the ahi tuna ceviche which was a mix of fresh tuna, avocado, mango chunks, and pico de gallo. This was served with a side of fried flour tortilla-like chips and lettuce. The avocado was brown, and lacked presentation and flavor. I ordered the Block Burger which was delicious. The patty had a nice crust, seasoned with salt so as not to overwhelm the flavor of the beef. I just wish the fries were a bit more fresh. My wife ordered the shrimp tacos, which was a big disappointment and something I could easily make at home for half the price. The shrimp was seasoned with Old Bay Seasoning and grilled, covered in slaw, pico de gallo, and a creme sauce. It was just boring and the shrimp could have been seasoned better and cooked slightly longer giving it a bit of char, which brings out the flavor more. After dinner we happened to speak to an ex-employee who said that the place is under new management and not as good as it once was. I would believe him based on our experience. I would love to give this place a try again but I am hesitant based on the lack of customer service we experienced. And if I'm gonna fork over $50 for dinner, I'd better be won over by the food or the service, which in this case it was neither. 3-stars just cuz I think that given just a few adjustments to the recipes, and a happier more attentive staff, this place can be so much better.

    Jalapeño Poppers

I've lived near Block for over a year now and have always heard about how good it was but just never went. I'm glad I finally did! Food: my friend and I split a Cuban and a pastrami sandwich and both had simple salads to go along with it. Both sandwiches had great flavor but j in believe the Pastrami won this battle over the best as the slaw and meat were just packed with flavors and worked really well with the salad. We also had the jalapeño poppers wrapped in bacon for an appetizer and it was absolutely delicious. Atmosphere: Very modern, elegant yet still laid back. The greenery near the front as well as the wooden tables really made for an awesome atmosphere along with what seems like a really great selection bar. The outside patio also seemed really great for spring time. Price: $$ - between two people I spent about $42. Really good for a nice lunch or dinner date. Overall, I highly recommend. Don't wait as long as I did to try it out. Planning to back here soon to try the dinner time to see what that's like.

Fish and chips! Excellent fries, really fresh tasting (for el paso) fish and yummy batter!

This is a good go-to spot when we are on Mesa. The.food gets to you quickly and is piping hot. I haven't loved everything I've gotten here but I do love, love thier burgers. They are always cooked how we ask, just, seasoned, inventive, and satisfying. The cauliflower used to be the bomb! But this order was gummy and weird. However, I will give them another go. Other always good staples are the pretzel, hummus, and avocado toast (hello brioche!) The fish and chips were really tasty. Slightly under salted, but an easy fix. The fries are eat-until-you-drop good. The service usually has younger servers who might not know everything (like the beer list) but they are very attentive and we have always felt very well taken care of. The bathrooms are always clean, the atmosphere is fun and airy and we recommend the overall experience of Block.

    Outdoor area

We were desperately looking for a nice place to eat with outdoor space on a Sunday at 7:30 PM. Unfortunately, most nice restaurants were closed, and the few opened were booked up. Block was not especially attractive looking at its Yelp profile, but we were very pleasantly surprised. They offer a lovely indoor space; we choose outside because of COVID. It is nicely set up with lights and cushions on the outdoor chairs. The area is fenced off, hiding the unattractive stree, also reducing the noise. Our waitress was quick and friendly. Food did take some time to come, but we did not mind as we were not in a rush. I started with a La Pama cocktail; it came in a large glass, not a cocktail one - it was more of a mixed drink. It was excellent and refreshing, especially after a long day of hiking in the heat. They have a great selection of beers; that's the place's specialty. I had a Salty Lady, a sour-salty beer. I know most people might not like it. I found it extraordinarily original and super tasty! My friend got the IPA on tap and was happy. I started my meal with the Citrus Avocado Salad; the ingredients were fresh and tasty. Not the sad, plastic-looking salad you may find in most restaurants. My friend had the Caprese Salad. Tomatoes did not have a lot of flavors, but he enjoyed the basil a lot. I had the Bar Nachos for my main dish, which was terrific. The pulled pork is fantastic, and I got a reasonable portion. My friend took the Block Burger, and he could not stop saying how tasty it was. We also took a desert, walking in nature is using up a lot of calories ;-) I took the Churros, I'm not too fond of cinnamon, but it was reasonably powdered. I did not like the chocolate deep; it tasted like a cheap chocolate dip. My friend had the Caramel Custard, which was the highlight of his meal. The cream was quite liquid, topped with sea salt and brownie at the bottom. My friend is highly picky with desert (France is quite good at deserts), so kudos to the cook. I enjoyed this place, and we could see it is pretty popular as people kept coming but seems to be rejected as they were getting out right away. Even though the place advertises they are opened until 9 PM, it seems they start refusing customers around 8:15 PM, be sure to get there early. I highly recommend this place and would go back!

My husband and I were passing through El Paso on our road trip from Dallas. SO HAPPY we stopped by. We had our dog with us and she was allowed to sit with us out on the evening patio. Food and service was SO good here. I had the tuna ceviche and a side of tomato soup. OMG. Fantastic! The wonton chips are a plus as well. My husband got the fish and chips, which he demolished. Super good food for a great price. We also ordered a flight of beers, from their extensive draft menu, which was fun. Whenever we come back to El Paso, we'll be sure to visit again!

Decided to check this joint out after a recommendation from a friend. Turned out to be a groovy little place to get some brunch after Chapel service. May be my new GoTo for brunch ... Indoor and outdoor seating

A good brunch place with an updated menu. Simple brunch food in a great setting. And pet friendly! Ambiance - Two outdoor areas which are pet friendly and a spacious inside. Its a very nice place to meet up with the gang for a meal. Service - Attentive and quick. My friend and I were quite indecisive, but the server was very friendly and helpful. Food - Had the pulled pork breakfast tacos with potatoes. Potatoes were nice and crispy and the tacos were also delicious. The tortilla didn't get soggy which was nice. Overall, Block is a decent brunch decision with good food at a reasonable price. It's especially great if you have pets, because not many restaurants in El Paso are pet friendly.

Had the opportunity to go with a big group of people and wasn't sure if it was apt for review but decided to review only the food to be fair. There was one waiter for our group of 25 who the service lacked because of that. Having said that I will only highlight the food. I ordered the Honey pecan chicken salad sandwich. The cibiatta was tough. But the inside was delicious. I also had the bar nachos and the serving was very much sharable with probably 3 people. It really was good. I ordered the Mile's Away drink (ketel vodka, guava, passionfruit, pineapple and lime) which was quite refreshing. I would return for the nachos. Other folks in our group ordered salad and the size were big as well. They looked delicious. Might try those next time around too.

If you live in El Paso or simply visiting, don't be a dummy like me and sleep on this place. I can't believe I've passed this place forever and never swung by. My sister (she's one of the biggest foodies I know) was hangry and I was right behind her. Although I have a list of places I have to eat at every time I visit, she was adamant about coming her. More like I had no option since she was driving, but I digress... Now Block is within short driving distance of UTEP and is pretty close to all the bars on Mesa. This spot is actually great for a birthday dinner or celebration and a quick transition to the local nightlife within that area. Not only do they have a cool outdoor patio which is dog friendly, but the inside is really nice and very open. I kinda felt stupid not giving this place a chance sooner because HOLY COW, their beer selection is crazy, and I saw a few beers that I hadn't seen in ages. Whoever is the beer/bar manager needs to be my friend because they have some damn good taste. My sister and I decided to feast like royalty and ordered a ton of appetizer plates. Because when you're hungry and can't decide it's obvious you just order half the menu. Some of the plates we ordered was the ceviche (must order, seriously it's a large helping and the tuna was seasoned perfectly), giant pretzel (still drooling over the cheese fondue they make in-house and the IPA mustard seed), burrata (the ricotta cheese within the mozzarella was nicely balanced), and the hummus (great for sharing). I know we ordered an appetizer that had a Mediterranean style bite with the use of grape leaves but I'm drawing a blank. Our server was on-point and was very friendly. I really enjoyed my time here and look forward coming back on my next visit. Slow clap to you Block, y'all won me over and are now part of my rotation of restaurants to eat when I visit home.

This was my second time here. The first time maybe it was just the company that went with me but it sure was negative. This time it was very pleasant even with COVID. We went on a Sunday evening and the crowd wasn't bad at all. My friend ordered a Pineapple Cider with chilli on the rim and I got one of their berry beer (forgot name). Both tasted amazing! We also shared the brisket plate there and it was filling! I'm glad I gave this place another try. You should too!!

Yesterday on the way to dropping off our daughter and family at the El Paso airport, we decided to eat lunch at Block-Table and Tap. We had a nice outside table on their patio. We had the Fish Bites, Fish Tacos, Brisket Tacos, Honey Pecan Chicken Salad Sandwich and a Calabrese Pizza. Everything was very good. Service was a little on the slow side, but we reached the airport in plenty of time.

Will the patio be open Friday for dine-in?

How late do they serve Sunday brunch food & cocktails?

2:30-3:00 per my server. They do run out of things later in the day - like hollandaise 🙁

The food was absolutely amazing -- everything we ordered was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. You could tell a lot of care went into both the menu and presentation. What really stood out, though, was how attentive and genuinely kind our server was throughout the evening. Even with how busy El Paso was that weekend, we never felt rushed or overlooked. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and it ended up being one of our favorite dining experiences of the trip. If I return to El Paso in the future, Neighbor Good Kitchen & Bar will definitely be on my list of places to visit again.

For starters the atmosphere was so cute. Absolutely loved the bar and hanging pots everywhere. Such a clean restaurant and cute vibe. Our waitress was very nice and friendly to us. So no issues there! For drinks I got their berry lemonade which tasted just like lemon juice. I had to request for sugar to be added since it was so sour so beware. My food had came out and to be honest I'm just a little bit disappointed. The rigatoni was cooked but the sauce for it was really not tasty? Like there was almost not a flavor I can taste. Of course there was something but it was very plain and barely even there. It also was not spicy whatsoever. I added grilled chicken too and oh boy was that dry dry DRY. The burrata personally I'm not a fan in general so of course I wouldn't be a fan this time either but they gave a nice little plate full of it. They added some oiled toasted bread and it was way too crispy in my opinion. My partner got the chicken Parmesan and his dish tasted great! Very juicy chicken and cooked all the way. The sauce was perfect too nice and flavorful and great pairing with the chicken. His butter noodles were just like regular butter noodles so not bad. Finally the crème brûlée. Probably the most disappointing dish we ordered. It took repeated stabs to break the sugar glaze on top. Me and my partner were honestly thinking that they added the cream on top to hide how burnt it was actually. Unfortunately because the glaze was so thick and burnt it made the rest of the cream taste have the burnt flavor. It was sad because my partner was looking forward to this desert. Also took wayyy longer to arrive than our entrées. I will say that the waitress was very helpful and she actually covered the crème Brulé. I didn't even ask she just offered, I think she could tell that we didn't enjoy it and I had nicely told her it wasn't what we were expecting so thank you sincerely. Overall I think this is a perfect spot to maybe try drinks and hang with friends. Food was okay, wouldn't try it again in that regard but overall a decent spot here in El Paso if you're looking for something new. Maybe best to ask what's their best dish to serve. Overall thank you.

I ordered the calamari and the skirt steak. The calamari was very crispy, and came out super fast (like, within minutes). Plate wise, it looks massive, but I could have definitely finished it off by myself. The skirt steak was a different story. It took forever to come out. I was texting a friend from when I ordered to when I received it, and it took 30 minutes. I don't totally understand how since the restaurant barely had any tables... but it was good? In that time though, I didn't know where my server was, and no one has checked in on me so I didn't even know how to ask about my food. Under normal conditions, I think I would be happy with this meal, and would order it again. Would I come back? I think so. The salmon sounded very yummy. I don't think I'd order the calamari again though.

So I decided to give it a try since it's only a couple miles down the way from my hotel. Easy drive up the hill to get there, place was super easy to find. You cannot miss their logo. Ample parking in the lot so you don't have to worry When you walk in, it's a cheery little sports bar. Now from the exterior. I would have thought that this was a chain restaurant, the signage was pro and the outside of the building led me to believe that this was definitely a chain like Chili's or other restaurants. Restaurants. Like it's definitely not, and I love that about the place! I was seated right away in a table so I could check out the whole restaurant. Plenty of seeding on either table tops or high tops, not to mention bar seating. Plenty of options on the menu, I opted for the cheeseburger with bacon, and I also added hatch chilies on it. Asked for the fries well done. To drink, I had an iced tea. The iced tea came out first and was definitely cold but I got to say it was a little weak. Not sure what that was about, but it was still definitely drinkable. The burger came out and let me tell you it was freaking huge! I mean the burger with all of the toppings almost overpowered the bun. I couldn't really pick it up because the bottom bun was sort of falling apart so I cut it in half ate half of the burger with my fork and the other half with my hands. I will say this the burger itself was perfectly seasoned. The bacon could have been a little crispier but it was still very delicious. It came with fries and a metal bowl and those were seasoned great as well. For dessert, I decided to have the margarita lime cake, because it sounded amazing and looked amazing when it came to the table. Table however, the cake itself was very dry. It almost had the consistency of a tres leches cake except this did not have the tres leches so the cake itself was a little disappointing but it came with whipped cream and did have a layer of filling so that definitely helped. Bottom line? This was a great place to grab a bite to eat for lunch. It's got good ambiance. It's God solid Service and just needs a few extra tweaks to make it a five-star!
