I've really enjoyed this spot before. Everything has been spot on with excellent service on previous visits. I came in alone today because I wanted the Lamb shawarms and had a little time to kill. It's also a fun art deco sort of environment, so that's fun. Thing started going downhill when the shawarma arrived with raw halved cherry tomatoes. One of the great things about that sandwich is the grilled tomatoes. It cuts the sharpness of the tomatoes and gives a beautiful sweetness to them. The server delivered the plate and ran... I am only exaggerating slightly. I didn't see him for 10 minutes while I nibbled at the (undercooked) fries. I intentionally drink down my tea so that an empty glass might catch his attention and he finally arrived. I absolutely hate sending food back and thought about removing them, but it's just not the same. In any case, he apologized, took the plate away and promised to come back with more tea and water. Eventually the plate came back and the tea and water were refilled shortly after that. Two of the tomatoes seem to have almost reached the bare minimum definition of grilled. The other 6 were fresh, plump, and still firm. I scraped them all off at that point. To add to the issues, the plate doesn't seem to have been under the heat lamp. The undercooked fries returned, only now they were cold. It's moderately busy and they seem to only have one server working. He's friendly and polite if a bit rushed by the understaffing. The sandwich even without the tomatoes? Delicious. The fries were a huge disappointment today and they are usually delicious. I'm gonna chalk this up to a collision of bad luck. The Bowl was great the citrus flavor gave it that kick I expected and the asada meat had an amazing flavor as well. I would love to try a shawarma plate next time. I will say I was kinda let down that there was no additional sauce to the order like a tzatziki sauce or something. The order came out to about $53 on Uber Eats and the only sauce they provided was a tiny cup of sauce for the calamari so I was pretty let down by that. Had the opportunity to have a dinner out with friends downtown at Lamezze and it was a great opportunity to see what the space is all about. This is a mediterranean restaurant with a primary focus on signature dishes yet some had their own flair which was nice. A fairly intimate restaurant, you could find a few table tops and seating at their bar. We had a reservation for about 6 people and we're placed in one of their central tables. This restaurant is across the building hallway from the Aloft Hotel for those who are staying downtown. I enjoyed their happy hour that we were able to enjoy which ended up being a daily hh if I recall correctly. It's 11 am and I'm staying at the Aloft downtown El Paso, I'm hungry I missed the free breakfast. Then I remembered there's a restaurant on the first floor. I make my way get a seated right away, table for one. It's busy but they have 3 waiters in duty and they are moving. I order and although it takes a bit my Whiskey Pecan French toast comes out with a homemade breakfast patty. The French toast is very good, sausage patty not my style. But I eat it. Then I was still hungry so I order the Moroccan Shawarma off the lunch menu with the house salad. It comes much quicker than the French toast did and it was my favorite thing I had there. Shredded lamb in a carnitas way. Loved the flavor, the Tzatziki sauce was good and I thought I might need more but realized I didn't, it was the perfect ratio. I visited this restaurant in El Paso for a very late lunch and early dinner on a Monday. I had flown in early for work meetings and hadn't had a chance to eat all day, so I was really craving something filling, nutritious, and preferably at a sit-down restaurant after hours of travel and driving. I remembered this spot because I'd stayed at the Aloft next door on a previous trip, though I hadn't dined here before. I'm glad I finally did. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the seating was cozy. While the booth had a bit of dust on it, it was easy to wipe down and didn't affect my experience. The waitstaff was friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout my visit. Thet served me water immediately and I got a blueberry refesher-like drink (non-alcoholic), as well as the vegetable kabob platter, which came with yellow rice and a variety of veggies. I asked to substitute the tahini with whipped feta, and they were happy to accommodate. The whipped feta was quite tart and tasty, though it was a bit crumbly and hard to spread on the pita bread. Still, everything was fresh and flavorful. Because I was so hungry and eating at an odd hour -- too late for lunch, too early for dinner -- this meal really hit the spot. It kept me satisfied for the rest of the evening. While I ended up grabbing dessert from a nearby bakery across the street, I could have easily stayed for dessert here as well. If you've had shawarma before, you know that it's pretty much the same flavor everywhere, but Lamezze does something different and I can't quite tell what it is, the chicken shawarma is addictive! Am I the only one about to be honest? walking in you're greeted with very bright lights, a not so clean feel and an awkward atmosphere. The green, velvet, booth, we were seated at was covered in stains and we all know how velvet looks even if water is dropped on it. It gave gross throughout our visit. The chicken kabob meal I ordered did not look like what is advertised on their IG and the Tzatziki was nothing but water mixed with more water absolutely tasteless. Perhaps they had a new "chef" that night. Nothing great about this place in my opinion. The portions are small the prices are high and it was just weird. Lots of great dinner options, but we got the roasted cauliflower as an appetizer and I had the pecan crusted salmon for my entree. Lamezze was both amazing in accommodating a large group for my birthday, but had great food and drinks. I had the prickly pear margarita, while many others had the black salt margarita. The environment is cute and the staff was kind. The Brussels sprout appetizer was amazing. The calamari was enjoyed. Love the decor, probably my favorite of any small restaurant here! The food is good too, and my guests loved it. The only thing I'd change is the location sometimes is hard to find parking at, and there isn't a bathroom in the restaurant so you have to go to the hotel next door. I can't give it a 5 because I was dining alone and due to that, I was most definitely the last priority. I asked for water, butter, etc and the waitress would make two trips for a bigger party before getting whatever I politely requested. She was the only one working and overwhelmed but I barely existed. For the food, it was very good. You can see the photos for more info on that. Atmosphere was cool but most of the tables face each other in awkward ways (me sitting at table and one-sides booth facing me to right). Views of people going to work and homeless beggars out window though, so that was cool. Definitely convenient as it was literally connected to my hotel (Aloft Downtown). As a city, don't sleep on El Paso. I really liked it and is the most underrated city I have ever visited, which has a lot to do with downtown. read more

The first experience was awful and I was blindsided due to the high yelp score. Had to try it a second time to see if my first experience was a fluke. The first try's cons: -Waited at hostess stand for a couple minutes before anyone even greeted me. -My food took about 30 minutes to arrive -My food (chicken kebab) did not taste good, was very salty, and very overcooked My second visit was a different experience. Food was delicious. Service was prompt! Only con on the second visit was that they brought out fries instead of a salad, but it was a quick fix after I reminded my server. I see other recent reviews that echoed my first experience. Due to the hit and miss service, I wouldn't recommend this place. It was the combo of a broth and creamy and had a strange grainy look to it. While I was eating my soup, a couple came in to eat and were seated RIGHT next to me.... In a completely empty restaurant. We joked with each other that apparently the restaurant wanted us to eat together. They were sat very oddly close and it made us all feel uncomfortable, so they moved tables so I wouldn't be able to intimately hear their conversation. For the entree I ordered the sirloin kabob skewers. The steak was very tough and cooked well done, which is not how I ever have my steak. It was very salty and very hard to cut, making it difficult to eat. The tzatziki looked homemade, but it didn't have much flavor. The server said the entree was supposed to come with a chipotle sauce, but I'm pretty sure it was sambal oelek type pepper sauce. The rice and pita were the best part of the dish because they were both very flavorful and soft. As I was eating my entree, the host sat yet another man RIGHT next to me when there were about 10 other tables to choose from. It felt like they were deliberately messing with me. My family and I came into Lamezze for the first time to celebrate a birthday. Our party of 9 came in on a Saturday night around 5:30 PM. We did call a couple days before to make a reservation in case it was going to be busy. There isn't much street parking so be prepared to park in the nearby garage or lot, the nearest are about a block over from the actual restaurant. When we entered the restaurant it was not busy at all and the host sat us right away. I was immediately impressed by the quality of service we received. Our server was wonderful--very attentive to our needs, patient in waiting for everyone to arrive, and very quick to fix and address any issues that came about with our food or drinks. The ambience was chill, the restaurant has a "classy" vibe to it with its decor, but you can come in dressed fancy or casual, both seem to be appropriate. For food, we ordered the "Whipped Feta" appetizer to start: feta cheese topped with pistachios, pine nuts, and aleppo, served with pita. It was a great starter, especially if you love cheese. The pita was nice and soft and the flavor combination with the cheese was great. For my main entree I ordered the "Moroccan Shawarma": it contained pulled lamb, tzatziki, grape tomatoes, marinated onions and romaine lettuce, served with a side of fries. The meal was great--lamb was tender and flavorful and the fries were just the right amount of crisp. I was satisfied....BUT I was very jealous of the rest of my family's plates, the majority of them ordered Kebabs. You honestly CANNOT go wrong with a kebab. I had to steal some from my wife because of how good it looked. Definitely ordering a kebab next time. To drink, I am pretty positive I ordered a blueberry mojito--it was so refreshing. I definitely recommend it. Overall had a wonderful dining experience here and would highly recommend this restaurant. We were allowed to bring our own cake for the birthday girl, they placed it in their own fridge for us until we were ready and even provided plates and extra forks at the end. The pistachio sauce was really delicious but there was very little on the chicken. The rice was really tasty! Lots of flavor in the rice and the salad was great. My friend had the lamb burger and she seemed to really enjoy it. Now the drinks were very impressive! Both the blueberry coconut mule and the lavender breeze were so so good!! I came here for a quick lunch with friends. The inside is cute and the green velvet chairs really make the inside pop. The menu has an array of Mediterranean dishes and the prices are reasonable.
