Rating: Blk Dot is my absolute go-to whenever I need a serious caffeine fix. It's tucked right into the Canvas complex on Bristol, and the space is always clean and easy to swing by. Their VTM (Vietnamese coffee) is unmatched. It's super strong, sweet, and will genuinely wake you up instantly--one cup easily gets you through the entire workday. If you aren't trying to vibrate through the floor, their sea salt coffee and cold brews are also really solid. They have good breakfast sandwiches and light bites too if you need a quick bite. The staff is always super friendly and gets drinks out fast, even when the morning line backs up. Plus, parking in the complex lot is easy so you can just jump in and out. If you love strong coffee, this place is a must. read more

This location used to be my go-to morning stop for coffee and breakfast on my commute, but after a recent visit, I don't think I'll be returning. I was craving their breakfast bowl and decided to place an online order to keep things efficient. My order was scheduled to be ready by 8:50 AM, and I intentionally arrived a few minutes late at 8:58 AM to give the staff a buffer in case they were running behind. Unfortunately, when I arrived, only my drink was ready. I was told my food was still being prepared, so I waited patiently for another 10 minutes. When I finally followed up on the status of my breakfast bowl, a staff member simply pulled it off the shelf--where it had apparently been sitting since before I arrived. It is incredibly frustrating to wait for an order that is already finished, especially when there were five employees standing around the counter. Despite being the only person waiting in the pickup area, no one took the initiative to check in or see what I was waiting for. The lack of communication and attention to detail has unfortunately turned me off from this location for good. read more

Parking: Google Maps will take you to a parking lot that no longer exists, but right after that on the left are a few 15-20 min parking. This is great for those just grabbing and going like myself. Go toward the quad with the large tree, you'll see the cage. I tried the Mint Chocolate VTM, half sweet. Tastes amazing. The space is small, with some seating inside, but a lovely patio and then the open area has plenty of seating. I would definitely want to come by again. read more

This location can be a little tricky to find. The parking lot is small, with only a handful of spaces, and you'll need to walk past a couple of buildings to get there. The area surrounding it is very scenic with lots of seating and fountains I ordered the salted cold brew, and it was excellent. The balance of sweet and salty was spot on, and it definitely delivered with the caffeine. What was really good was the breakfast bowl. It was packed with flavor, full of fresh ingredients like their pico de gallo, and came together perfectly. Every bite had a little bit of everything. Crispy potatoes, creamy avocado, pico de gallo, and eggs. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the whole experience felt relaxed and easy. I really should have read the other reviews before ordering from Blk Dot Coffee. I like my drink with light ice / easy ice because I have sensitive teeth. I had no idea that ordering with less ice entails at least an inch worth of drink subtracted along with it. The parking at this location can be a bit confusing if you are there the first time. I just parked in the 15 minute parking space as I was just swinging by to pick up my online order. Now the drink itself tasted extremely sweet. I was surprised given the shop being an Asian drink place. It also tasted like the canned powdered chai I had in the past from Trader Joe's of all places. Perhaps I will attempt getting other coffee drinks with regular amounts of ice or something. I am unsure if I just got the wrong drink or what but......not sure if I will return or not again even though their marketing presentation looks beautiful on their website. read more

I needed a coffee pick me up on the way to a customer meeting and found Blk Dot Coffee, which was on the way to the office. I parked in the 20 minute slots and walked through a business courtyard to Blk Dot Coffee. Found the cute cafe located on the bottom floor of one of the buildings. Service was awesome. There was one friendly server who went above and beyond to help me with my order. I was interested in a Vietnamese Coffee, but admittedly there were so many options to choose from. He offered me a sample of the Vietnamese Coffee as a base and recommended I go with their Chai Vietnamese Coffee. The matcha was pretty good quality. Parking is not intuitive at all, so I hope this review will help others. You can park inside the structure which will give you a ticket. Blk Dot will give you another ticket for validation. When you exit the parking structure, you need to insert the first ticket and then the validated ticket. I usually come to Black Dot Coffee when I'm around my friend's place, and I really enjoy their Spanish Latte with caramel and cinnamon--so good! This time I decided to try the avocado toast. It was a little on the bland side, but not bad overall. I might get it again, maybe with an extra topping to give it a little more flavor . Customer service was great--super friendly and helpful in recommending the toast . I also noticed their baked goods looked really fresh and tempting, so I'll probably try those next time. Your usual and every day BLK Dot. It's located at the Canvas in Costa Mesa. It can be tricky knowing where to park here but you can simple park in the building for canvas and get your ticket validated. I believe the validation is for an hour but not sure if it's more than that. I usually always get their Original Vietnamese Coffee which is delicious and bold just the way it should be. Along with that they have other refreshing drinks as well like the Strawberry Lychee. The shop is small but there's a little seating or waiting area along with a nice outdoor seating around the fountain which adds a great ambiance. I stopped by BLK Dot Coffee while staying at a nearby hotel, and I'm so glad I did. It's located inside the Canvas building, and there's a garage parking available. They also offer one hour of free Wi-Fi. I ordered the yuzu mango matcha (even though I didn't see it on the menu). It was refreshing, not too sweet and still taste the matcha flavor. The person who took my order and made the drink was really friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. They have so many coffee options on the menu, and the prices are very reasonable. There's plenty of outdoor seating too, so it's a great spot to chill or get some work done. I really want to love this place and would come more often... I come here as a special treat on my days off because it's expensive but usually feels indulgent and fun. I always order the LVTM with less ice and pay for an extra pour. This time was a big disappointment. My drink had at least three finger widths of empty space at the top even though I paid for an extra 2 oz. I know there's also a 4 oz option, which I often choose, but no matter what, there always seems to be room left. If you're charging extra per ounce, the pours and ice should be consistent, otherwise it feels arbitrary and overpriced. When I asked if it could be filled properly, (and said I really don't mind paying for the difference I just want a full drink) the barista topped it off with plain whole milk, which completely diluted the drink and made it taste gross. When I asked "oh is that how it's done?" I was told "yeah, it's company policy, you have to pay for 4oz." At that point there was nothing to be done, and after a few sips, I'll be throwing the drink away. I don't mind paying premium prices, but I do mind paying over $9 for an inconsistently made drink that isn't corrected properly. If this is truly company policy, it should be explained more clearly upfront. read more

I enjoy blkdot, but the one previously closest to my apartment was always closed on the weekends. Happy to see this is super close to me and open on the weekends! Yay! The only issue is parking is inside of a parking garage, and it's an automatic $3 for 30 minutes. Upon entering the shop, there was no greeting by either one of the baristas. I ordered my drinks and tipped. Upon receiving my drinks I asked if they validated, and they did. However, when trying my ticket it kept saying invalid ticket. I ended up having to pay $4.50 for all of the trouble. Overall, I do enjoy this coffee and atmosphere, and would definitely frequent this shop if the validation works in the future. read more

Beautiful, new location inside Canvas right by the 405 fwy on Bristol! I parked in the structure, took the ticket with me, and blk dot validated it. I made my mobile order and was super happy to see this location pop up after the ones at VKCC and Tustin Market Place closed. It said my order would be ready at 7:15 a.m., but it was ready by 7:00 a.m. The office building in Canvas was easy to find, but the blk dot location itself was hard to find. It's basically facing the fountain and literally a part of the building. You seriously have to look very carefully because it's camouflaged into the 3090 building itself and does not look like a separate cafe at all. Another guy was as lost as I was. Frantically walking around to get my coffee fix and to be on time to work, we asked another guy, and he gave us good directions and found it! It is so clean and pristine. I wish I could have taken my time to snap some more pictures and order food, but I had to get to work. Luckily, the freeway entrance is right there, and it's not totally out of my way to make a worthy stop to blk dot to get some quality Vietnamese iced coffee. read more

Been finding myself wanting Blk Dot more and more after every time I get it. I usually don't opt for hot drinks but I really like their hot honey jasmine macchiato is so good and the hot VTM. It's a cute little shop in the Canvas business building. There are a couple designated Blk Dot parking spots right in the front before having to enter the structure and you can walk towards the center where the fountain is and you'd see Blk Dot to the left. Staff is friendly and shop is always bright and clean. So glad this location is close to me! read more

I ordered a regular iced uji matcha einspanner with almond milk. However, it tasted like it had whole milk. I wanted almond milk because regular milk upsets my stomach. The environment was nice and peaceful, but it is not okay that I I paid for alternative milk and received the wrong milk. What if I had allergy? I only want to let the employees to know that they need to be extra careful cause they never know. read more

If you ask them dont fill your drink up with so much ice, they lessen the liquid they put in your drink. Therefore making the drink smaller. If you remove all the ice you only get a couple of swallows. read more

I love your food, I order often for breakfast and one of my favorite is the avocado toast, but today I had to throw it away for the amount of salt in it. I dont want to sound exagerated but i think it was a lot, I wanted to share half with a coworker who also told me he couldn't ate it cause it was too salty. I ordered from Uber, I would love if there is an option to input modifications such as leave the salt on the side or something, this is the first time it happens to me but obviously i dont want to order it again if im risking it to have it the same way. read more
