    BEC and Ultimate Brekkie Bowl

This location can be a little tricky to find. The parking lot is small, with only a handful of spaces, and you'll need to walk past a couple of buildings to get there. The area surrounding it is very scenic with lots of seating and fountains I ordered the salted cold brew, and it was excellent. The balance of sweet and salty was spot on, and it definitely delivered with the caffeine. What was really good was the breakfast bowl. It was packed with flavor, full of fresh ingredients like their pico de gallo, and came together perfectly. Every bite had a little bit of everything. Crispy potatoes, creamy avocado, pico de gallo, and eggs. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the whole experience felt relaxed and easy. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the breakfast bowls.

I really should have read the other reviews before ordering from Blk Dot Coffee. I like my drink with light ice / easy ice because I have sensitive teeth. I had no idea that ordering with less ice entails at least an inch worth of drink subtracted along with it. The parking at this location can be a bit confusing if you are there the first time. I just parked in the 15 minute parking space as I was just swinging by to pick up my online order. Now the drink itself tasted extremely sweet. I was surprised given the shop being an Asian drink place. It also tasted like the canned powdered chai I had in the past from Trader Joe's of all places. Perhaps I will attempt getting other coffee drinks with regular amounts of ice or something. I am unsure if I just got the wrong drink or what but......not sure if I will return or not again even though their marketing presentation looks beautiful on their website.

The cafe can be a little tricky to find, but it's located in the center near the fountain. Plenty of outdoor seating around the office buildings. I got the Uji Matcha Einspanner. The matcha was pretty good quality. Parking is not intuitive at all, so I hope this review will help others. You can park inside the structure which will give you a ticket. Blk Dot will give you another ticket for validation. When you exit the parking structure, you need to insert the first ticket and then the validated ticket. If you insert only the validated ticket, you will receive an error.

Your usual and every day BLK Dot. It's located at the Canvas in Costa Mesa. It can be tricky knowing where to park here but you can simple park in the building for canvas and get your ticket validated. I believe the validation is for an hour but not sure if it's more than that. I usually always get their Original Vietnamese Coffee which is delicious and bold just the way it should be. Along with that they have other refreshing drinks as well like the Strawberry Lychee. The shop is small but there's a little seating or waiting area along with a nice outdoor seating around the fountain which adds a great ambiance. It's a great place to relax with a nice drink on a warm day.

Spanish latte with caramel and cinnamon

I usually come to Black Dot Coffee when I'm around my friend's place, and I really enjoy their Spanish Latte with caramel and cinnamon--so good! This time I decided to try the avocado toast. It was a little on the bland side, but not bad overall. I might get it again, maybe with an extra topping to give it a little more flavor . Customer service was great--super friendly and helpful in recommending the toast . I also noticed their baked goods looked really fresh and tempting, so I'll probably try those next time. Overall, I'd give this visit a 7/10. Pretty good experience and worth checking out if you're in the area

About to go in the trash :(

I really want to love this place and would come more often... I come here as a special treat on my days off because it's expensive but usually feels indulgent and fun. I always order the LVTM with less ice and pay for an extra pour. This time was a big disappointment. My drink had at least three finger widths of empty space at the top even though I paid for an extra 2 oz. I know there's also a 4 oz option, which I often choose, but no matter what, there always seems to be room left. If you're charging extra per ounce, the pours and ice should be consistent, otherwise it feels arbitrary and overpriced. When I asked if it could be filled properly, (and said I really don't mind paying for the difference I just want a full drink) the barista topped it off with plain whole milk, which completely diluted the drink and made it taste gross. When I asked "oh is that how it's done?" I was told "yeah, it's company policy, you have to pay for 4oz." At that point there was nothing to be done, and after a few sips, I'll be throwing the drink away. I don't mind paying premium prices, but I do mind paying over $9 for an inconsistently made drink that isn't corrected properly. If this is truly company policy, it should be explained more clearly upfront.

I stopped by BLK Dot Coffee while staying at a nearby hotel, and I'm so glad I did. It's located inside the Canvas building, and there's a garage parking available. They also offer one hour of free Wi-Fi. I ordered the yuzu mango matcha (even though I didn't see it on the menu). It was refreshing, not too sweet and still taste the matcha flavor. The person who took my order and made the drink was really friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. They have so many coffee options on the menu, and the prices are very reasonable. There's plenty of outdoor seating too, so it's a great spot to chill or get some work done. I'd definitely come back next time I'm in Irvine.

Nice cute quiet cafe. It was pretty empty on a Sunday morning and our drinks came out super fast. My Carmel macchiato with oat milk and breakfast sausage bowl were amazing!

I would highly recommend the Spanish Latte. I tried it in a hot and the spices were perfect. A very smooth, coffee taste. I look forward to trying more of the options.

If you want light ice they completely low ball your drink. It's practically a regular size and if you want a splash more of oat milk they'll charge you yet another $1 more. Also very unfriendly and cold service.

I enjoy blkdot, but the one previously closest to my apartment was always closed on the weekends. Happy to see this is super close to me and open on the weekends! Yay! The only issue is parking is inside of a parking garage, and it's an automatic $3 for 30 minutes. Upon entering the shop, there was no greeting by either one of the baristas. I ordered my drinks and tipped. Upon receiving my drinks I asked if they validated, and they did. However, when trying my ticket it kept saying invalid ticket. I ended up having to pay $4.50 for all of the trouble. Overall, I do enjoy this coffee and atmosphere, and would definitely frequent this shop if the validation works in the future.

I was deciding on where to snag lunch on my way to another store doing my rounds and I really wanted a sandwich. I decided to get the Turkado, some dirty Maui chips and drink. The total came to $17 and some change, not bad about the avg for the area and any lunch. The service was great, the woman who helped me was nice, and efficient, she helped me select what chips to get. Not much bantering but I do enough of that at work, so all good here. The store was clean, nice vibe, music. My order was ready in the time it took me to fill my soda cup and sit down to scroll 1 scroll thru outlook emails. Maybe 5-7 mins the woman who gave me my order asked if I wanted some secret sauce on the side, and put it in the bag. The bag felt heavy! The sub was huge! Probably 8inches bread was nice and springy, there was enough lettuce, tomato and sauces on it. I love the sunflower seeds, gives it a nice little crunch. The meat is more of a very thin piled high but there is a lot of it! I like how the sub is assembled meat, cheese, toppings sauce, it seems to hold together nicely.

This review covers my experience across multiple locations, including Harbor Boulevard in Costa…read moreMesa and Beach Boulevard in Huntington Beach. When I first started coming to Board and Brew, I would have given it a solid five stars, but my perspective has shifted after six years of exploring other local options in the county. The Evolution of the Experience: * Ingredients: While the food is definitely better than a pre-made deli sandwich from a grocery store, it isn't exactly top-tier. The bread and meat are good, but as you try more specialized places, you realize these are fairly standard. * The Famous Sauce: Their signature sauce is tasty, but it feels like it contains a high amount of monosodium glutamate (MSG). MSG is a neuro-exciter that can make people feel overstimulated or unwell after eating it, and it feels particularly intense in this recipe. * Consistency: Both the Huntington Beach and Costa Mesa locations were great initially, but they now feel more like a solid, middle-of-the-road option. The Best Use Case: * Catering & Events: Even with a three-star rating, this is absolutely the place I would go if I needed catering for a birthday party or a large event. Their pricing and preparation for bulk orders are hard to beat. Final Thoughts: If Yelp allowed half-stars, I'd probably give this a 3.5. It's a reliable, solid sandwich shop, but the ingredient quality and the intensity of the MSG in the sauce keep it from being a five-star favorite for me anymore. Edit: The owner replied to my comment about how their food is high quality, but 6 years of taste testing says otherwise. While you may not add pure MSG crystals to your sauce, it still contains MSG.It is misleading to claim "No MSG" or "High Quality" when the sauce relies on ingredients that are chemically identical to it. For instance: Tomatoes and Tomato Paste: These are among the highest natural sources of free glutamate. If the recipe uses tomato paste--as many copycats do--it will test positive for MSG. Soy Sauce & Worcestershire Sauce: Both frequently cited in recipes for this sauce, these contain naturally occurring MSG through fermentation or hydrolysis. Nutritional Yeast: Often used to provide a savory flavor, it naturally contains high levels of glutamate.Hydrolyzed Proteins: Ingredients like "hydrolyzed vegetable protein" (HVP) or "yeast extract" are processed specifically to release glutamates. Legally, a company might say they "don't use MSG" if they don't add the pure additive, but that is a technicality. MSG is linked to various health issues for sensitive individuals, and just because many consider it "safe" doesn't mean it's healthy or non-harmful. If the food is truly "high quality," why rely on these additives to create flavor? Best Wishes
