The brownies are hands down the best I've ever had! Amazing flavor and unbelievably soft. Love this place!

When I want rich chocolate these are what I turn too. Thick, decadent, amazing! Wouldn't pick another brownie!

This place must be so crowded in the weekends in the morning. I came here on a Tuesday around lunch…read moretime and it was filled with people. Super cute cafe with a great selection of pastries and brunch items. I got the chicken mushroom quiche and it was savory, cheesy and the perfect lunch treat. There were big chunks of chicken in the quiche and it came with a side salad as well. WiFi is available as well for those working remotely. The inside of the cafe has stylish decorations with plenty of seating all over for parties of 1-6. Parking is street parking with 2 hour limits. The bathrooms are super spacious and clean and come with a changing area for parents with little kids.

I ordered the croque madame with the fried egg on top, and it was delicious. You can absolutely tell they use real butter--the true French way! My waistline might not thank them, but my tastebuds certainly did. I even brought home an almond croissant for the Hubby and snacked on a cheese and chive scone the next day, and everything was just fantastic. The only little hiccup is that the service can get a bit hectic. The staff seemed a little confused trying to match up the order numbers to the tables, and we almost got run over on our way out by a waiter sprinting to the patio! But even with the fast-paced environment, the food is wonderful whether you eat in or grab takeout. Definitely worth a visit! A much better experience here than MY 1st time. I think it's because they enlarged the dining area with more table space. It's still hard to have a conversation due to the high ceilings which echo the sound.

They have numerous soups, dips, cookies, baked goods. I had to get the viral dot cake - it did not disappoint. This place reminds me of an east coast grocery store. Everyone seems happy. Starting with the salads...for around $12...you pick from an excellent selection of fresh ingredients and they toss it up. You can have them chop it as well. Their dressings are custom made and the ginger dressing, in particular, is delightful. The sandwiches...also about $12...are large and also made to order. (If you order a Panini expect a wait of around 15 minutes.) Their bakery goods are to die for! Yes, you could run around the corner to Gerhards but you'll pay much less here at Foodstuffs for a larger, better dessert (and maybe even fresher). It's not all perfect, however. We recently took home one of their frozen Shepards Pies and while the crust was great and it had plenty of meat filling there was way, way too much salt in the recipe. Also, I've had soup here a few times and it was good, but not great. As an aside, the service here is definitely courteous but can be slightly standoffish at times so don't expect the kind of super friendly service you may experience elsewhere in Lake Forest.
