Yes, you could run around the corner to Gerhards but you'll pay much less here at Foodstuffs for a larger, better dessert (and maybe even fresher). It's not all perfect, however. We recently took home one of their frozen Shepards Pies and while the crust was great and it had plenty of meat filling there was way, way too much salt in the recipe. Also, I've had soup here a few times and it was good, but not great. Place is small, so with the pandemic, maybe only two people inside limit - one paying and one picking out their goods. I left with a cinnamon roll donut and a apple danish. I was loving the donut as I ate it while driving to my destination. The sweetness, texture, moistness, and cinnamon flavor was all there. I could have ate a couple more. The next day I ate the apple danish. It held up nicely a day later and wasn't all dried out. It was reminiscent of the apple danishes that McDonalds used to sell years ago, but 10x better. The apple filling was a sweet delight that i can rarely find. I really enjoyed the pastries here and everything tasted way better than they looked. If I would have known the goods were going to be great, I would have bought a lot more. To bad I won't be back out that way until next summer.
