The chairs went into zero gravity, which was nice on my pregnant back. There was one guy doing both of our massages. He was kind and massage felt great. My only "complaint" would be how he did my friends feet then moved straight to my head/shoulders.. that was a little weird for me without washing hands or anything lol. I think that if we each had our own person it wouldn't be as weird but since he was bouncing between us it was what it was. He was the only person in the whole building, so they must be understaffed. The salt room was a nice relaxing escape. The salt is in the walls, with wooden lounge chairs to relax on. It is clean, but not sterile. Over all it was a nice experience. I called to book/go back but the recording says their number has changed & there is no new number listed anywhere. When I drive by, their Mother's Day banner from last year is still up. When trying to book a massage on their website it appears every day is booked? Which is weird bc as mentioned above, it was only one guy and we were the only people in there. He even made a comment that he came in just for us and was locking up/cleaning up as we were leaving. Unsure if this place went out of business?? It kind of seems that way.

I don't usually leave reviews, especially not negative ones. I prefer to work it out in private to give business owners a chance to fix mistakes. However, this has been an awful experience that I would have wanted to know about. I scheduled a service and paid online and when we got there, no one was there. We spent the first 15 min of the appt time calling and texting the number on the door and finally got a hold of the owner who said they messed up our appt date and wouldn't be able to come. They asked if I wanted to reschedule and I told them I preferred a refund. They agreed to process it the next day. 2 weeks later I realized I had not gotten a refund and called back several times over several days, asking for a refund or any sort of communication. That was a week ago. At this point? It seems unlikely they will get me my money so I reported it as fraud. It's so disappointing to have a business steal from you. I'm hoping other people can have a heads up and not put their trust in this business like I did.

The night before her appointment my daughter told me her nose was starting to run and she thought she had allergies. The day of her appointment, it progressed very quickly to a full blown cold and her nose was really runny. She was concerned about being in a headrest and also about getting the massage therapist sick. I called to see if we could reschedule and was told it was not possible but my daughter could still come in and wear a mask on the table! I explained how terribly uncomfortable that would be and was told there are no ability to reschedule. My daughter was very much looking forward to the massage and since I live out of the area it was an important gift to help her release some of her tension. I asked to speak to the owner and gave my details and was told the owner would call me back. I never heard back and called again on May 13th, 7 days later, and asked again to speak to the owner to try to find a fair resolution for the situation. I was told the owner would call me back but have not heard back from her today. The impression that I get is that they do not care about my business. And if they don't care about my business, they don't care about your business. You may want to rethink using their services if you think you may ever be sick or have an emergency and have to miss your appointment. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of care of the owner of Jaiyen Spa. If I could give no stars, I would.

This massage was much better. When we first got there it was already a soothing environment.we were provided sandals, and we got to check out the meditation garden. For what it is, I'm surprised at how well they use the space and be able to create a serene, calm environment. The Garden was nice and calming. They had a station at the front entrance as well as on the way to the garden where you can have some tea and a light snack of trail mix. Wife and I both chose the Osmosis-fusion massage. The provider who I had, Josh, was great! He asked checked in with me and then I told me if something doesn't work, let him know. He used a good amount of pressure, and started slowly so I can get use to it and I didn't feel tickled at all. Some parts of it did have a lot of pressure where it hurt a bit, but it felt good after. I'm pretty sure he felt me tense to here and there, but Josh was attentive to it and I think when he wanted me to request, instead of talking me, he just took deep breaths and I did it as well and try to stay loose. All in all, it was very enjoyable The tea ceremony was nice, it was a tea with peppermint and some other ingredients, mixed with some enzymes to promote better digestion. They're was a smaller garden outside of the tea room to be able to enjoy as you sip your tea. The cedar bath was great. I had one experience before, but I enjoyed this one better because it also had a view of another garden. The lady who took care of us was attentive as well. The only complaint was there was a fly going around that got kind of annoying, but other then that, the cedar bath was great. All in all, a great experience for me that open my eyes to massages being something I can actually experience.

The reception area is very small and the staff definitely made eye contact and noticed me waiting. As she continued to check in the customer in front of me, and I was still waiting a few feet back from the desk, another customer entered the front door. She cut right in front of me, approached the front desk directly and the staff person proceeded to check her in for her facial in front of me. It was a bit upsetting because the staff noticed and went ahead and helped her before me, instead of addressing the behavior of her cutting in front of the line! I found it to be very rude of the customer and poor service by the staff to allow that. It wasn't a great start to my spa day. The cedar enzyme bath is a highlight, so relaxing with the tea ritual, beautiful garden views, and warm heat generated from the wood shavings (cedar, Douglas fir and rice hulls). It is a very unique experience. My only discomfort on this visit was that a fly was buzzing around the room while I was in the bath and kept landing on my face while I was buried and I couldn't wipe or swoosh it away whenever it landed on me. It was uncomfortable and a test of my mind to focus on the bath and not on the fly landing on me repeatedly during the 20 minute experience. I also got a facial on this same visit. Asha was gentle and had good technique. The towels used were a bit rough on my face despite her gentle and soothing touch, likely they need replacing .

We stayed in one of the soaking rooms and it was wonderful. We were provided with towels and salts to use specifically for the soaking tub. The tub was conveniently located in the main room with a view of the large screen TV which also could be pulled out from the wall and angled towards the tub and bed. We were a little confused about how the tv worked since it seemed that other guests were signed in to the streaming platforms, but that was likely user error. Perhaps a little note about logging in to streaming services next to the TV might be useful for others in the future. We were also able to access live channels. The room was clean, and had a microwave and mini fridge for our leftovers after eating out or for small grocery items from CalMart. The location is great and a short walk to downtown Calistoga. We were provided with robes at check in which were useful for the hot tubs and pools. There are two mineral water hot tubs of different temperatures and one large mineral pool for swimming. There are showers and changing rooms available in the pool area as well. They provided bicycles and helmets that we could take to ride during the desk hours. We would definitely stay here again.

We arrived in Calistoga and checked into the hotel and spa. While a few of us checked in for our massages, my daughter and partner checked into our room. The massages were wonderful, we were very relaxed and went back to the room to change to swimwear. Note: The flavored waters near the spa are delicious, try them all. Our room was a really nice renovated King Suite, that also has a Queen bedroom attached. A little kitchen area, fridge sink and table, then the restroom area with added storage and seating. The pool is amazing, the water is so fresh and relaxing. The two hot tubs are heated to separate temperatures, it was just so nice to spend time going there. I found the early morning swim to be the best way to start my day. On my departure day, I decided to try a mud-bath treatment with my sister and although it was not my first time, I realized that mud baths are just not my thing. Staff was great, the spa was fantastic, hotel and pool were so relaxing. I would definitely book another weekend at the Golden Haven and recommend you treat yourself too.

I was super ecstatic sine my last massage was when I had my babymoon. I was long due for a massage ! The grounds itself was beautiful and it was cool that the spa was in an underground cave which was pretty unique . I was excited about this spa but unfortunately , the whole experience was truly disappointing. My appointment was a 2 pm for my massage . After waiting for some time I had to ask someone to find the masseuse, which already made the experience start off on the wrong note. During the massage, the technique was not what I expected. Instead of a relaxing swedish massage, it was mostly pressure points, and I left feeling tense rather than relieved. I was basically waiting for the massage to get better but it never got any better . It was probably one of the worst massages I've had in my life . My husband booked me a swedish massage and that wasn't what I got . Also for some reason while I was getting the most disappointing massage of my life the room was uncomfortably hot. I was under multiple layers of blankets ( felt like 5 ) that made me feel overheated and unable to relax . At one point I had to ask the masseuse to turn up the AC because I felt like I was overheating . After I told her this ,she then resumes to putting my toes and hands in some hot jelly like substance. Overall , the experience I had at this spa was truly disappointing especially since I was really looking forward to feel refreshed and rejuvenated & that's not the experience I got. Also , the management running this place is non existent . My husband sent them an email & still no response and that was 3 weeks ago . For a highly rated spa , this experience was really bad and I don't reccomend this place for a massage . Save yourself some money and go elsewhere .
