I have been getting my nails done for almost 20 years, and have never been 100% loyal to a nail salon, until about a year ago when I found BLISS! There is no comparison or competition. I work in a high volume hotel in downtown NOLA and Am constantly asked where I get my nails done. Not only do they do a fantastic job technically speaking, but the atmosphere and service cannot be beat. Dewey and Patty are a husband and wife duo, and you cannot go wrong with either. I'm here for a funeral we needed a pedicure because our feet looked horrible...lol. Of course Yelp comes to the rescue with Bliss Bar! Read the reviews and thought we would give it a try. The atmosphere is great and the technicians are friendly and very professional. At first we were told that they were booked for the morning but realized they they could get us in for our service. I'm glad they did because the service was great. I'm not from New Orleans but whenever I come this will be my nail salon of choice. I truly loved Bliss but I could never afford a manicure or a pedicure so I would go in and just have my finger nails painted with the acrylic Polish and it would last for weeks. It cost $25 plus tip which was a luxury for me and then I would come back have it removed and more polish put on. One day as I'm walking out the salon 1 of the men that worked there...managers or owners they grabbed my fingers and looked at my hands and flipped them over and looked at my nails and annoying said, "you really just need to get a manicure next time. You are painting your nails and ignoring your cuticles.. It looks bad for my business" I was so shocked and embarrassed in front of everyone and I have never ever gone back. I have great nails they are long and strong, I keep them trimmed all I needed is polish. I left there crying in my car.... If I could give it 0 stars I would. read more

I went here for a pedicure for the first time this past Saturday. I got my nails done by Gina. She was very friendly and down to earth. She knows how to have a conversation which I admire because so many people keep to themselves today. Meeting people is important. Anyway, this salon is relaxing and clean. The decor is great and they have a wide variety of nail polish colors for you to choose from. Gina took very careful attention to detail with painting my nails and cleaning my feet. A++! My feet look and feel great. The basic pedi is $32 and worth it. I finally found a nail salon that I will be going to regularly. The fact that it's so close to me is a bonus! read more

I live in the Bay Area, California and am here visiting family. My grandma comes here for her nails and told me this is a great spot to get a pedicure. Her and my aunt come here faithfully. Upon entering, this place is super clean. Very elegant and relaxing. I was greeted immediately and I said I didn't know what I was doing because I have never been here before. The man that was at the counter gave me a sheet with pedicure offers. He was very helpful and told me to sign in on the sheet of paper. I was here for about three minutes and he had already seated me, water ready and all. This place gives complimentary wine or water. The man was very nice, talking with my gramma and I, going along with our jokes and laughing. Very pleasant. His hands felt nice, knew what he was doing. If my grandma didn't come I would have fallen asleep lol. The massage on my legs and feet felt heavenly and the polish came out very nice. I got a French pedicure and it's definitely one of the better ones I've gotten. He didn't rush but was fairly fast thankfully so i wasn't there all day. Definitely tip well for these guys. read more

Y'all. I have never THIS happy about getting my nails and feet done, they exceeded my expectations by 100%. I was worried that it would be stuffy and stuck up employees and regulars...I walked in and was almost instantly taken to the back to get my full set. I had Brandy...she is so meticulous and detailed it's insane! Not to mention how sweet and personable she is! Everyone was- my nails came out PERFECT. That's never happened- maybe I'm picky or overly critical but I've never been this happy about how my nails and pedicure came out. I was a huge fan of Bliss when I first moved to Kenner. I love the decor, it's very soothing and spa like. But over the past year of being a faithful customer, I've found it more and more difficult to get in for a pedicure. Also, one of the nail technicians is way too talkative (although she does a great job, I come there for one reason - to relax and not have any demands placed on me for just a short, brief, rare hour). And another of the nail techs who usually does my pedi is great at picking colors that go with my skin tone, but sometimes when trimming my cuticles he cuts me (not cool, and also painful and raises potential for infection). My recent experience there was the last straw, and why I can only give Bliss 2 stars instead of the 5 I would've otherwise given. I walked in for a pedicure, as I've always done, and the receptionist informed me snottily that since I didn't have an appointment, they couldn't see me for 2 1/2 hours. I was shocked - what had I missed? I'd been coming here over a year and while I've had to wait, that's normal for a nail salon, and NONE of the techs I've seen EVER EVER suggested I should make an appointment. I asked to speak to the manager (he is actually one of the owners) so he could clarify their policy for me, and frankly, he has a LOT to learn about customer service if he wants to have a successful business. I simply wanted to know why no one had ever, over the past year, told me I needed an appointment. Instead of listening to me, he continued talking OVER me, on and on and on. I literally asked him "Are you actually going to listen to me, or are you just going to talk AT me? You aren't even hearing what I have to say". For me to have to tell him that, not just once but repeatedly, was a huge red flag. At one point I even said "It's not a conversation if only one person is talking". It was a VERY unpleasant experience, and told me a LOT about their business practices. Plus, customer service 101 buddy. Seriously. Brush up on your social skills before you tank your whole shop, or hire a manager who actually knows what they're doing. To me, customer service is everything in ANY business. It's why I shop at some stores and avoid others like the plague. If I'm dropping $40, it better be a positive experience, and I better feel like you actually want me as a customer. That wasn't the impression I got at Bliss. In fact, they're so overrun with customers, I got the impression they'd be happy to lose a few. I walked in without an appointment and was set up for a mani/pedi within 15 to 20 minutes, starting with the mani. I'm very satisfied with the attention to detail and neatness of the nail polish, in addition to the moisturizing and pampering. I was taken care of by an employee named Doug who was great. He was very polite and careful to do exactly what I requested. He was chatty, but not too chatty and let me nap when I laid back for my pedicure. They offer a complimentary wine glass for anyone interested. The manicure I got lasted a full two weeks without a single chip. I only changed the polish because my nails were growing so the bottom of the nail was a bit bare. My pedicure is still going, 2 weeks and 2 days later. I'm very satisfied. read more

I had a gift card to here so my mother and I decided to try it out. Very nice, clean atmosphere. They definitely do a good job setting themselves a part from your regular nail salon. Our nail techs were personable, offered us drinks twice, and overall accommodating. They have a ton of colors to choose from, especially for gel. I have to say though, for the price, my gel manicure was done a little sloppy by the cuticles. Some of my polish isn't even in places. I would come back if I wanted to have a manicure or pedicure with a friend, but I will continue going to my other place because my nails come out perfect there.
