I was initially drawn to this salon because of its nice ambiance, but unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. The biggest concern for me was the lack of proper sanitation. After being cut by the drill three times, I asked about the disinfection process, but Stephanie was unable to clearly explain it. Her response did nothing to reassure me about the cleanliness of the tools, which is extremely concerning--especially when my cuticles were already bleeding. Beyond the hygiene issues, I have never encountered a nail technician as incredibly rude as Stephanie. At first, I gave her the benefit of the doubt, assuming she was having an off day. However, after multiple visits, it became clear that her dismissive and unprofessional attitude is just how she operates. I made every effort to be polite despite her continuous rude remarks, but after waiting over an hour past my scheduled appointment--one I booked two weeks in advance--her response was, "If you didn't want to wait, you could have seen someone else. Most of my clients don't mind waiting." That was actually one of the less offensive things she said to me. I can't begin to list every condescending comment she's made in my last few visits, but I can confidently say I will never be returning. I will also be warning others about her unprofessionalism and the salon's questionable sanitation practices. I visited John V Sat 2.23.2020 I requested a gel mani & pedi. My technician was Stephanie. It was a great experience. The salon is clean organized, and spacious. I especially loved the cute details of the small heart shaped pink flakes for the very bubbling pedi soap. The green tea scrub smelled so great. Stephanie was engaging as we discussed our Carnival plans. She is very detailed. I get gel manis all the time especially in Los Angeles. My nail mani was well balanced, shaped beautifully , and most importantly balanced beautiful gel polish. She introduced the dip for nail health and she applies lashes. The place is really nice, but it's the attitude of the girls I got... they were nice but some of the things they would say was just rude. I came in to do my hands and feet for my birthday but I didn't know exactly what I wanted because I wanted something different. A simple "it's not my favorite" would have been enough but I just laughed it off bc I didn't want her to mess up my nails if I told her she was being rude. also they were doing my hands and feet at the same time which was really convenient but I was so focused on my hands that I forgot to check on the girl doing my feet and I had asked her if she could put acrylic on all my toes & she was like yea and I told her I wanted French tip just how my hands were being done. Once they both finished I saw my toes and asked if she had did acrylic on all my toes and she said no just in my big toe. Before that I saw her doing acrylic on my big toes so I assumed she was gonna do the rest because that's what I asked for but she starts claiming that I only asked for it on my big toe... like why would I ask for acrylic on only my big toe... and not only that the French tip line was so thin I couldn't even see it and she asked me "do u like it" and I was telling her that it just isn't the way I wanted it and she goes "well girl we already done so.." not even trying to find a solution to it. So I'm looking pissed off because she packed her stuff and left and then finally 5 minutes later the girls like do u want me to fix it and I was like well no cuz y'all said yall were done and if u have to redo it I rather y'all not because I don't wanna make y'all do extra work and my friend asked if they can make the line a little thicker and finally she did it. I ended up liking them at the end but I don't appreciate being treated like I'm bothering them especially when I'm paying for it. They way my nails looked was really good but it's also my fault for not watching the girl doing my feet because if I had noticed before I would have told her something before she continued, I recommended going there just figure out what u want before u go and don't talk to them cuz they are rude. She didn't take the polish completely off my nails from previous manicure, so it looks like I've been eating Cheetos (the color was orange). Didn't do well cutting my cuticles, one she didn't even file correctly. Also gel polish is on 2 of my fingers (not my nail bed) and she left gel polish on almost every finger from polishing them. Let me preface by saying I am extremely picky with my nails. I think the nail techs probably inwardly groan when I walk in haha. I've been going to John V for about 6 months now and have gotten nothing but exceptional service every time. They really listen when I say I want something a certain way, and never make me feel bad about being a perfectionist. The salon is pretty and clean, and the collection of dip polish is one of the largest I've seen. My first experience there was excellent. I honestly popped in because my gel nails were horrendous and needed attention but mostly because it is a brand new location next door to the gym where I workout. I walk-in and see a tremendous facility that is clean and bright. "Quinn" was so warm and inviting so it was an easy decision to stick around. She even offered a discount for being a member to Planet Fitness Kenner. I think my workout clothes was an easy giveaway that I was a member next door. I decided to go to my car and grab my purse and return. She understood and patiently waited. Upon my return she offered me a seat and noticed I needed some grooming. I'm glad she offered an eyebrow wax. She was so sweet about it that I wasn't embarrassed and relieved she caught how busy I have been. I looked at their menu of services and noticed there was even a combo for a blow out/mani/pedi that I decided I would surprise my daughter with one day if this relationship with my new friend Quinn off. She proceeded to soak my gel polish off and efficiently thought to take me to the back where there are massage rooms and restrooms. She took care of my eyebrows and it wasn't the painful and insensitive rip and move on to the next eye sort of rush. It was a pleasant experience. We went back to my table and she proceeded to pay attention to my 24k manicure with hot stones massage. (I decided to splurge.) She was friendly and polite. She made me laugh and invited conversation but also mentioned she understands if I prefer a quiet experience. We had some pleasant chit chat about life and how recent their location had opened. She mentioned how important it was to have excellent customer service which I thought was vulnerable and respectable. She seems passionate and oh so competent to make this place wonderful. Afterall, she is the manager. She offered me a complimentary flute of wine as well. She paid attention to my gel polish and even suggested a more complimentary shape to my nails. Quinn was very attentive to the limited time I had to spend that day and had me out in time to pick up my daughter's from school which I appreciated so much. I decided I will be going there opposed to my other location of choice. Partly because of the convenience but more because of the pleasantries like her personality and the various services that are available. One of which is a salon where I can get all my hair services. My husband and I visited on 1.13.2021, hoping to receive a relaxing pedicure. Our pedicure was anything but that. It started with my foot basin overflowing and then ended with us paying 130.00 for a 24k gold pedicure that we never received. The appointment was for 4pm, and we were done by 440. In the past we received fire and ice pedicures and they lasted well over an hour with exfoliation and included paraffin wax. This pedicure was rushed and the products that we were supposedly paying $65 a piece for were not even used. Very disappointed in the customer service and the response from management. I wish my review was better but I'm very confused at the way my nails look after 10 days. My nails look the same as they did on day 5 but couldn't do a review sooner. I came here because I was super excited that they were open on Sunday because I was going out the country the same day. My nails look like I've had them on for 3-4 weeks. I really wanted to like this place. It's a clean salon that seemed promising. However for $180 I feel duped. The prices on the site don't reflect the actual cost of services & when getting these services they don't tell you the cost of what you're getting before they do it. My nail design was also $40 extra which is incredibly outrageous for these gems & elongated French tip ( which the gems are already falling out one day after) I've been to many places across the country and never paid more than $140 for some of the most intricate designs with shape, cut down, & various colors. Here in Louisiana even, my personal nail tech charges less than what they did for a full set. Equally annoying, the pedicure was incredibly basic for $50. Meanwhile, the atmosphere there is nice but the customer service was lacking. It was disorganized and seemed like some of the techs couldn't manage what other patrons where looking for. Loud yelling across the room & getting up during a service multiple times is not professional and takes that much longer. Overall, sure they did a nice job but not for these ridiculously high prices. I suggest sticking to personal nail techs or looking into places like She Comes in Peace for real nail designers. read more

I visited today, for the first time. It was very clean and nice looking, plus, the prices were higher than any other that I've visited, in the area, so I was excited. Judging by the looks of the place and their prices, I thought that I was about to get top notch service. I hate to say, but I was very, very dissatisfied. The tech, literally filed the skin off of my left pinky finger, until it started bleeding. He then sprayed alcohol on it, as if. He charged me $5 extra, for the shape and, even though I pulled the picture up on my phone and set it their for him, he still didn't shape them right. I left their with a bandaid on my finger. I wasn't even offered an apology. I, also, received a pedicure. He absolutely rushed my pedicure, because a new appointment had arrived. He kept digging in my left big toenail until it also started bleeding. At that point, I was furious, but I did not act nasty. I was charged $30 for my feet to basically, be washed. Plain water was used, with nothing added to it. I asked him about the bottom of my feet and he charged me an extra $5. I have never, in my life, gotten a pedicure that didn't consist of removing the dead skin from the bottom of my feet. Needless to say that after he charged me extra for that, he still didn't do it right. I left right out of there and made an appointment at another salon, for a pedicure on tomorrow. I have never been so disappointed, in my life. I literally wanted to cry. This is by far, the worse experience that I've ever had at a nail salon. We attempted to get a pedicure here. We were "greeted" by a very unfriendly heavy set lady. I'm guessing the receptionist. She had the look of disgust on her face the entire time. We asked if they served wine, and with a disgusted look on her face we were told "ugh yea". And she walked away. Another lady walked over and We were told to sign in and the wait would be about 30 minutes. Which was no issue and we completely understood beings we were walk ins. It only looked like there was one person doing pedicures which is strange for a high end new salon. We were rudely told to sit down, and wasn't offered anything. No glass of water, a magazine, or a glass of wine. At that point we decided to take our business elsewhere. It's sad because the actual salon is stunning. It's beautiful. Okay. So I've been here once before for a full set and it was amazing. They take their time and make sure you're satisfied with the nails. So the second time I went, I went in today for a root shadow because two days ago I got my hair done to platinum blonde and my roots were super super light and it looked a little crazy, also I didn't want my natural roots to grow in and not blend into the blonde. I actually am really happy with the shadow root, it is a little darker than my natural color slightly but I did tell her it was okay if it's a bit dark and I showed her a picture with a brown shadow root and asked her to go a little lighter than that, and she did. I had absolutely no issue with the hair coloring and the process. She took her time to make sure it was done correctly and I liked it. She also didn't give me weird vibes where I felt like I was being annoying. The reason I put one star is for the hair styling portion. So with getting a color treatment done here, you get a free Brazilian blowout with that and styling. So I'll insert a picture of what I wanted the curls to look like and how it turned out. It didn't look anything like the picture. It was pretty frizzy and not curly at all, or really even wavy. Certain chunks of hair were more crimped than others so the wave she DID do for me wasn't consistent. I don't think the girl is bad at styling hair I just think the technique she used to try to achieve the type of wave I wanted didn't work, and I was upset when I got home but I'm also really dramatic and get anxiety over stupid things. I would recommend this salon, but definitely speak up if you have an issue or it isn't looking the way you want it to, because I didn't. I also don't like to upset people or be too picky so that's why I personally didn't say anything. read more
