Overall, I really enjoyed the time working with her on my pregnancy photo shooting makeup!

I was super hesitant because I saw my mom do it in the 1990s and she had an allergic reaction and looked horrible for a week. Anyway, I'm getting to the point in my life where my appearance is still important to me, but I just want to look good without putting in too much effort. Yes, I am lazy. Anyhoo Lena was quick to respond to my email inquiry about what type of brow service I should do. I was initially thinking microblading because it is less permanent and seems to be popular these days, however after consultation Lena suggested getting my eyebrows tattooed. I have sparse non-existent eyebrows. I looked totally different with makeup and without makeup, mainly because I had no eyebrows. I would go to yoga work up a sweat and come out looking like a totally different person because my brows would melt off. After getting my brows tattooed, my husband says it looks like I have makeup on all the time, that's how much of a difference it has made. Like he thought I was hot before, but now I'm even hotter because I have nice eyebrows all the time. Lena did a fabulous job. My eyebrows are symmetrical and perfectly proportioned. The process took about 1.5 hours and I felt very little pain. I went back a month later and she touched up my eyebrows to make sure they were settling in well. Highly recommend Lena! Go get your eyebrows done by her, she's truly a professional at the top of her game.

Hot Mama in the House! Before you read on to my review I…read morewould just like to make clear that I'm happily married with 2 kiddos. Lena is one smokin hot mama. Her high stilettos gave way to her entrance as I awaited my eye brow waxing. I heard it as it met the floor, before my eyes met her Asian brown eyes. When she came walking out... it was like a scene from a movie. In slow motion...I followed those stilettos, to her nicely toned legs, her tight black dress hugged every curve of her body. Just the right amount of bosom peeked out of the top of her dress. Her jet black straight hair glistened in the light. Like an art canvas her gorgeous tanned skin with colored tattoos adorned her body well. Her nice smilingly pearly whites greeted me . Yes, a woman's body is definitely in no competition to a man's. You see in the beginning of time Adam was made of Dirt and Eve was made out of a rib. Before a master piece a draft must be made. I'm a FAN but not of the price! Girls, this is the most priciest eye brow waxing I ever got, 35 smakaroos. I've been to Paul Brown, Wax and Lash bar, Heaven on Earth, Bobbi and Guy, I can go on and on but I'll reiterate that it's was the most priciest. Well, your 1st eye brow shaping is 35 but on the next one it's 25 smakaroos. When you check in 3 times with your smart phone, Yelp application then it's $20 on your 3rd visit. Besides the price I'm a FAN of everything else. Especially gorgeous Lena ; ) I know everything is more expensive in Honolulu. Lena was quite easy to get a hold off. I reached her threw email and she quickly responded. The office is located on the 2nd floor, its above a snack shop. Lena is actually Located in Reneux Med Spa. When you get off of the elevator you can see the spa. (PAID) parking is located right next to the building. When you check in for your appointment they offer you water, coffee, or tea. The office is clean and the staff is nice. I showed a picture to Lena on how I wanted my eye brows shaped. I admit that I don't have much to work with but I've experienced miracles with 2 estheticians who sadly moved to the mainland. I'm willing to pay $35 for a miracle but I didn't get a miracle that day. I wanted an arch, but not too thin. She told me that the picture that I showed that her eyebrow is darkened in by makeup. A picture of my before and after: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/X4GNz6nOaZIVz6_W7a01KQ?select=0QZzGpkitZZVew-hhhfdew#oEG0E274itbNlmLeV1y8Cg Lena was very nice we chatted about my kids and her child, and the new Kroc center in Kapolei. Lena spent about 15 minutes on my brows. She offered me a mirror to look at my eye brows. I asked if she had any eye brow shadow to darken it in but she didn't have it. Since I live on the Leeward side, I probably won't go out of my way to see her. But if you live on the Honolulu side or work in Honolulu) side then I would recommend Lena. Maybe my eyebrows were just too over done that day I saw her. She is gorgeous, friendly, and professional.

I communicated with the team via phone (but left a voice message) then communicated via texts (which seemed faster and convenient for everyone). I was able to set a makeup and hair trial session 6 days before my big day. I was set up with the amazing Moana! I am a person who does not wear makeup a lot nor has great makeup skills lol. So I will admit, I was nervous. I mean, I had my share of experiences from Sephora and I was not always satisfied. So yes, I was skeptic. BUT...Moana did an amazing job with my hair and makeup trial! I loved it! She is friendly and hilarious. And she was honest with me. I showed her inspiration pictures and she let me know that the pictures I showed her were AI and reminded me that their skin is flawless and that she cannot make it exactly like the picture but she can work with what I have and make it beautiful in my own way. And she asked me questions and opinions on how I wanted to look. And the results of the trial session was amazing. For the rest of the day I walked outside and felt beautiful hehe. The day of, Moana, made me look and feel beautiful. I loved my makeup and my hair!! And my bridesmaids and my mom and mother-in-law were glammed up by the other amazing girls from DMA and omg...they all looked amazing! And they all loved it! And we were ready on time when the limo was to pick us up...okay, maybe a few minutes late. But the driver was not complaining hehe. Thank you girls from DMA that helped me and my girls look beautiful for the big day! Makeup and hair stayed on well too for all of us, especially with the heat and humidity that day. hehe. MAHALO!!!!

Last minute changes. Lack of communication. Surprise fees…read more The week before the wedding was stressful, but I didn't expect to cry the most over Delish. We were looking to book Heather, the owner of the business, and were given 2 options - a standard package to book with the team or the more expensive LUX package to lock down Heather. For the standard package, they said Heather was available, scheduled herself for our wedding, and it's rare that another bride will book LUX package on the same day and cause Heather to move off. So, we felt comfortable to go with the first option thinking they would communicate if anything changes. Nothing changed for almost a year - until the week before the wedding. We were notified that another bride is interested in Heather, but nothing was confirmed so we could still upgrade the package. We were in the middle of work meetings, panicked, and decided that we would! It's the week before the wedding and we would throw money at any stability as we knew nothing about the other artist. We took out our credit card and our heart sank when we saw "Ok so we just got booked for a LUX from the other bride for this day". They didn't tell us this was a race!? We were given only 34 minutes to decide!? We thought they'd at least have the courtesy to wait for the initial client to make decisions. Sure it's not *illegal* but it's definitely unkind for Delish to pit 2 brides against each other the week before the wedding. Our wedding coordinator suggested to Heather that she should call us. We heard nothing, waited, and only got text messages 2 days later that they would make it up to us by doing the trial at our hotel instead of their studio. Then, they charged us $30 for parking tickets, which we would not have agreed to if we knew about it. We also requested to see the artist's portfolio to get over the feeling that I was going with a fallback option. It took 4 days for Heather to say "Sorry, completely forgot to send those over". 2-4 days is not a long time in a non-wedding settings, but keep in mind that this was 1 week before the wedding. That was 4 days of me crying convinced I was not going to look my best at my wedding. We considered not tipping with all the stress they put us through but we decided that the makeup artist is not a part of the admin team, so we still did. In the end, the artist was nice but the tears and nightmare they put us through was not worth it.

After showing her a couple of pictures, she instantly 'got' what I was looking for, and even threw in another awesome hairstyle for a photoshoot I had later in the day. The day of, Sarah and her team showed up and were fantastic at responding to everyone's wants (I had HMU for MoB, MoG, and bridesmaids). My hair and makeup was even better than it was during the trial, and afterwards Sarah gave me a little touchup kit in case I needed it throughout the day - which, as it turned out, I didn't! Nica had the timing down pat. None of us felt rushed nor did we feel like something was not getting done. I had to admit, she is one of the QUIETEST makeup artists I've met. Usually they are so chatty but she was just fully concentrated into her work. She helped me get all my hair up into a bun and off my neck (I sweat a lot) and that bun held ALL NIGHT, even thru all the crazy dancing around. She even helped me redo my orchid feather fascinator to put on my right side (originally made for my left) 'cuz she said it was a better side to put it on for the guests to see while I'm exchanging my vows. I told her to stick it in there tight 'cuz I didn't want it falling out with hugging everyone all night. Boy did it stay! That sucker wasn't moving ANYWHERE! She did the makeup just perfect. I was a bit concerned because all the makeup I saw on their website was very 'natural' looking, almost like nothing was on. I'm not gonna lie, I wear more makeup to work then some of those girls did in their wedding photos. So I was a bit concerned that I would look 'washed out'. I told Nica my colors (gold and warm brown smoky eye with plum edges) and she nailed the color. I brought my own eyelashes (even though she supplied them for the bride) and we tried on different ones to make sure we got the perfect look. Everyone complimented me on my makeup, my hair stayed still all night, my orchid fascinator did not budge, and neither did my makeup!!! Nica did a WONDERFUL JOB!!! I highly recommend her for your wedding! She will give you the look you are looking for!
