All I have to say is Vicky did a wonderful job with my bridal makeup and my bridesmaids. She had everything on hand, her airbrushing technique was perfect. She even made my girls lashes look beautiful! From lots of researching, Vicky was the most affordable for a budget girl like me. If you are looking to have a different face once you're done, than I suggest you go to those places that can cake on makeup so that you look like a totally different person. What I liked about Vicky is that her style is natural. She will enhance what you already have without caking on the makeup. We had 10 people to 'do' and Vicky brought an assistant that was excellent (and also spoke Japanese making things easier for my Japanese in-laws). After watching some youtube hair tutorials, I was confident that I could DIY an updo for my destination wedding. At a month out, my to do list was a mile long and practicing hair was at the bottom of it and realized that I didn't want to stress about my hair the day of. She didn't just do one side of my face or partial of my hair. I was actually able to take my prewedding pictures that evening (at the spur of the moment) and I looked flawless. She gave me suggestions and listened to what I wanted. I have acne prone skin with scarring on my cheeks, but Vicky was able to cover them up. My skin looked flawless. :) I felt the most beautiful I've probably ever felt. She also did a great job on my MOH, Mother of the bride, and Mother of the Groom. Everyone was impressed. Vicky is amazing! I was looking around for make up and hair artists since I was from out of town and my fiance and I were coming for a friend's wedding and decided to get engagement pictures here. Well vicky came and saved the day for me because she was available and so accommodating. I'm usually worried about artists and doing makeup on Asian faces and when I asked vicky, she said she had lots of experience doing Asians. I did expect that since she's a fellow Asian herself but just needed to be sure. She's had over 20 years of experience. I came into her salon and she started on me quick. She's very fast and knows what she's doing. Just give her a picture or an idea of what you want and she can replicate it. I also showed her pics that I thought were pretty natural looking in the pictures and she said that the models had a lot of makeup on in order for it to show in the photos. I let her do her things even though I was afraid of heavy makeup or eye shadow!! She definitely knew what she was doing and talking about. She's very friendly, can hold conversations easily and is highly skilled in what she does. She did airbrush makeup on me and it looked flawless. We did have some bang trouble with my hair but she fixed it and kept reassuring me that it was going to be OK to which by the time our engagement shots came around, my bangs calmed down. I don't like to be the only one writing a bad review but I just had to share my sincere experience. Vicky was very professional and responsive through her emails which made me confident in my decision to go with her. Luckily, I did a trial which made me realize she is not the one for me. I had shown her what I wanted and she told me my hair was too long, in other words basically explaining why these looks couldn't be accomplished. But I gave her the benefit of the doubt to try; after all technically she is the "makeup artist". Then her and her partner had a friend come into the studio and they were gossiping about their personal life in Vietnamese, which was not only unprofessional but it made me feel very uncomfortable. I don't think she was focused on what she was doing bc instead of doing natural makeup she made me look OLD!!! She put BLACK eyeliner under my eye and that was the tipping point for me. I told tell her I don't like black eyeliner as it felt too harsh. Then she explained everyone uses black because you want it to show in the pictures. I know I'm not a make up artist but that is not how you do make up. Im not sure if she was upset after I told her I didn't like black eyeliner under my eye but she rubbed my eyes so hard it ruined the skin underneath my eyes. She offered to schedule another day to redo but after what she did to my eyes I did not want to go to her again. I literally walked out of her salon crying in tears and was so frustrated as I had to find a new makeup artist. It was such a stressful and terrible experience. I'm glad other reviewers liked her but she is not the one for me for my bridal make up. read more

Vicky is genuinely sweet and considerate. My hair is wavy and frizzy and there is not much that can help it since it's mostly genetic. But Vicky gave me a wash, a deep conditioning treatment followed by a haircut and light styling. She made several good recommendations along the way and even gifted me a small bottle of CHI on my way out! P.S. She only takes clients by appointments but she is also willing to find a good time for both parties.
