Due to a last minute mix up with another makeup artist we had to scramble to find an available hair and makeup artist a few hours before my daughters prom began. After making calls everywhere we luckily got a hold of Lexi and explained our situation and lack of time. She agreed to meet us at her salon and help us. She did my daughter's hair AND makeup in two hours, did a beautiful job and saved the day! Her reviews were high and we found out why! Hair was gorgeous and held throughout the evening. Makeup was on point too. She went above and beyond. Thank you Lexi read more

Lexi did an amazing job on my hair and makeup for my wedding day! From the trial to the big day, she was professional, kind, and really listened to what I wanted and was willing to work with me while i figured out what that was. She created a look that was not only beautiful but also natural -- exactly what I had envisioned. I got so many compliments on half up hair and makeup! Lexi made me feel confident, calm, and beautiful on my big day and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone talented, reliable, and awesome to work with! read more

I did the 1-on-1 makeup session. I had a great time learning from Lexi. She was very patient and taught me different makeup techniques. She also used things I already owned, showing me how to use them better. Plus, she gave me advice on which new products I might want to get to improve my makeup kit. I had to unlearn some makeup techniques, but I'm really thankful for the chance to learn from her. There was so much to take in during one session. It was worth every penny! read more

I had the pleasure of hiring Lexi, Yuki, and Jennifer for my 2-day wedding this past weekend! They were very professional, accommodating, and such a joy to have! We had 12 girls for the wedding day and 4 girls for the following Sunday for hair/makeup. I had Lexi as my make up artist and Yuki as my hair stylist. Lexi has such a great attention to detail and NAILED IT! My make up held up throughout the entire day even after being drenched in rain during the ceremony and dancing all night. I recommend doing a bridal make up trial especially if you have monolids like me. We found that mascara runs on me even with it being waterproof so we removed it for the wedding day. Yuki has a very warm and positive energy to her and did an amazing job. I had brought Chinese hair pieces which she beautifully composed for the Chinese banquet night. Lexi & Yuki made me feel so beautiful! My bridal party and mothers were SO VERY IMPRESSED! I will definitely be recommending BeautySpell to all my friends/family. Don't miss out! Will update later when I get the professional images back~ read more

Lexi is an extremely talented makeup artist. I was mother of the groom: Lexi gave her professional opinion on what type of look I should be wanting and how much makeup should be applied. It was comforting to know that I was in great hands. My sister and my niece also had hair and make up done with Lexi. They also left so beautiful. I did not want to look like I was trying to be in my 20s and back in the 80s! Lol I highly, highly, highly recommend Lexi and her crew for hair and make up. I cannot express my gratitude for Lexi on this wonderful day read more

We booked Lexi and Yukie for my daughters wedding on November 26,2021. Lexi and Yukie came to our hotel at the HHV and did hair and makeup for the Bride, for two Bridesmaids and hair for myself (the M.O.B.). Lexi was always responsive to my questions and messages. My daughter lives on Oahu and I booked Lexi from California. She was so easy to work with and very customer service oriented. You can tell she loves working with people and loves what she does. They were Both timely, if not early, and finished when they said they would, leaving us time to take pictures as well. I can not say enough about these two ladies. So professional but very fun to work with as well making sure they listened to what everyone wanted. Don't hesitate if you are booking from out of state for a wedding in Honolulu or on Oahu! read more

In short, Lexi is awesome. I found her while I was scrolling through Instagram, reached out about date/times/pricing and she was the quickest to respond. Once we were able to establish wedding day and a trial run, I sent her pictures of what I wanted. I set the trial run for about a month before the wedding. Everything went great! Lexi is so outgoing and has this really cute dog named Yoyo. My mom loves dogs so she was preoccupied the whole time we were there. The only thing is that was a little difficult was finding parking, but it was expected because we knew Lexi's studio is in Waikiki. During the trial run, she pulled up my pics and went to work (see 3 pics of trial run). Also on a side note, my makeup and hair held up about five hours after having it done (see picture). I decided to go with airbrush since Lexi suggested it when I told her that wedding will be outdoors and I tend to sweat a lot lol. I highly recommend; it was probably the best suggestion she made. The makeup was beautiful and so was the hair, however, me being a typical bride, I changed my mind about the hair because I wanted to show off how long it was so requested for a braid instead. When I brought this up with Lexi, she was incredibly accommodating and ultimately made that happen. On the day of the wedding, she and her wonderful hair assistant, Yuki, came over to the hotel where my mom (matron) and I stayed the night before around 6am (my wedding was at 10am). Lexi did my mom and my makeup and Yuki did our hair. Both ladies were extremely fast and very friendly! Lexi was able to touch up my hair right at the end and by the time we knew it, they finished both of us at 8am! I highly recommend Lexi!! She is fast, efficient, and extremely talented! Thank you so much Lexi for everything! read more

Curl or not to curl..... well if you ask me, curl is where it's at! And it stayed, all night long. Lexi is a very patient and makes you feel comfortable in what she does. She asks before putting anything on to be sure what do you want and then BAM! I am beautiful! Even driving home, the Tita in me almost came out because I'm like what you looking at!! Then when I see them smile tee hee hee oh hi! And yes, I look good and I'm feeling good because of what Lexi did to me. It brought out my confidence but the worse part was that I had no where to go and show it off. That's ok, she's coming to my hotel and to do my hair and makeup and let me shine!!! Ok she better not because I'm the bridesmaid not the bride. Thanks again Lexi and see you soon! read more

I hired Lexi of Beauty Spell Hawaii to do my hair and makeup for my vow renewal ceremony in Waikiki. I was thoroughly impressed; she made me look and feel like a complete queen for the day! I wasn't sure what I wanted hair and makeup-wise, but Lexi was very patient with me and was able to take all of the jumbled ideas I had and turn me into a beautiful bride all over again! I personally think my hair and makeup looked even better this time than it did with another MUA for my original wedding ceremony, and believe me, I'm hard to impress. I highly recommend Lexi for any of your hair and makeup needs if you're looking for a prompt, pleasant and talented hair and makeup artist. And even better, she will travel to you! Thanks again, Lexi! read more

Lexi and Suki did an amazing job on my hair makeup. Delivered exactly the look I was going for. These ladies are so talented and incredibly sweet! So happy I found them. I just finished a private makeup lesson with Lexi and it was so informative and fun! I consider myself an intermediate makeup person but I've always been interested in learning makeup tricks and techniques so I decided to book a formal makeup lesson. I was especially wanting to learn airbrush makeup and how to improve my eyeshadow technique. This was considered an advanced lesson by the way. She also offers beginners. The lesson was done at her place and parking is provided. Lexi is very meticulous and patient in her teaching and technique. She asks for what look you're trying to achieve and then demonstrates the makeup on one half of your face and you mimic on the other half. I learned tricks I didn't realize were essential like how to hold your brushes, what brushes and strokes to use, etc. I think I do my makeup fairly well but Lexi really provides those extra tips and tricks that elevate you to the next level. The part I found super useful and we spent a good amount of time on was airbrush. You can watch YouTube channels but it's different when you do it yourself. Her eyeshadow portion was also very eye opening! I also learned that Based on my bone structure, I didn't need to contour certain parts of my face. She also tells you what colors/ products would work well for you. It's helpful if you bring a little notepad. All in all, I'd say this was very fun and such a unique experience. I'd definitely do it again and it would be a fun bachelorette/ bridal/ birthday activity w a group of girls. Lexi is really kind and patient and really takes the time to explain things in detail. I'd definitely recommend this to a beginner or intermediate/ advanced makeup person. She also has a very cute dog. Thank you Lexi for such a fun and enjoyable experience! Highly recommend to anyone who is looking to advance their skills. It may be a good idea to book a lesson and then plan on taking photos, somewhere after. You'll leave looking/ feeling beautiful. read more

Today is my daughter's prom . I really didnt know who to go to for professional make up and hair . Called few places but interaction was so so . First of all, Lexi lists the business is open 24 hours which alerts me to great. Next she answers the phone without voicemail etc . Another plus . She was really adding me to her full schedule and that was so appreciative. Well at the end of the day the make up and hair looked fabulous . It was definitely professionally done in a classy , non cheap elegant way . Hair was very nice and curled for the long straight hair my daughter has . It was a very nice made up look . It was a wow . I will make an appt foe myself too for a function in the future !! Great job! read more

Highly recommend! I was super nervous cause I found out last minute that is bridesmaids had to do our own make up. But found Lexi last minute and she was able to squeeze me in super early in the morning (very grateful). The fishtail braid was amazing!! Held up great during the super humid wedding at the north shore. The lipstick tint lasted much longer than expected even after eating so much lol and looked pretty good too. read more

I just want to thank Lexi and Monica for glamming up my squad on my wedding day. They are both very fast and easy to work with. They got us ready in a timely matter. Most makeup artist like to start super early in the morning regardless of how small your party is and they take up almost half the day to get you ready. I felt really at ease getting ready with them. Just a tip, makeup application comes with complimentary lashes, but Lexi also sells mink lashes for $30. Go for the mink, especially for the brides! It looks so good on the eyes and these lashes aren't one time use either. Really good lashes just make sure you take care of it and clean it properly. read more

Lexi was amazing for my bridal makeup earlier last month. She came prepared and was very thorough in explaining and letting me pick which styles I want for both hair and makeup. I am so glad that I found Lexi from yelp. She did an amazing job. It was for my wedding day so I needed the best. She did both my makeup and hair. Lexi was an amazing hair and makeup artist for the Military Ball I attended last night. I got so many compliments on my look, and several comments specifically on my updo. I felt so glamorous, and Lexi was a big part of that! She is very professional, friendly, prompt with communication responses, and listens to what your vision is to make it happen. She made my typically fine/thin hair so full and volumized; I couldn't believe it! She provides upgrade options, like styling with extensions in, airbrush makeup, and mink lashes. She also provides mobile services, which is so convenient (she came to my home to get me ready)! All things considered, her pricing is very reasonable, too. I would definitely use her again for another glam night out! read more

I'm very happy with selecting Lexi as my wedding MUA. I developed lots of acne/scarring from wearing masks and was concerned about my acne showing. I've tried a trial with another makeup artist who used airbrush but was upset that my acne still showed and my skin looked shiny and itchy. Lexi managed to make my skin look great and it felt light. She also listened to me and offered her suggestions via text and she made me feel so comfortable. At the end of the day with my makeup and hair looked very natural but still glammed up just like how I wanted. read more

Decided I really needed to get more professional help and skills on applying makeup. Plus I figured she would be best at telling me the type of makeup I needed for my dry skin. My daughter and I attended my brother destination wedding. I didn't get the final itinerary for the day until it was 10 days out. I found Lexi on Yelp shortly after that. We were able book, coordinate and collaborate ideas with one phone call, a couple of text and emails. She did a wonderful job in my daughter's up do and my hair and make up. I had to attend a formal event for my company so I booked Beauty Spell Hawaii because of the holiday special. Lexi emailed me before the event to ask me if I had any photos to show her how I wanted my hair and makeup so she could prepare for it, which I really liked. She was friendly and helpful and takes her job very seriously. The whole styling process was very relaxed and fun and we talked about anything and everything. Her skills are even more outstanding. I didn't want too much makeup but not too natural either and Lexi made it just right! The makeup was clean and elegant which is what I wanted. She's also very detail oriented and looks to accentuate your good features. I've always been self conscious about my flat nose, but before I even asked, Lexi already worked on it and made it look taller. :-) She knows what she's doing and is very good at it. She even put mascara on my bottom eyelashes. I never knew I had so long bottom lashes!!! For my hair, at the beginning I wasn't sure so she asked to see the photos of my dress and then gave me some suggestions on how to match my hairstyle with my dress. I am super happy with this experience, the results and with Lexi. Her prices are very affordable, too. I most definitely will call her again and can't wait for my next event read more
