Dope concept but very expensive and hard to move around inside because is usually busy. Only way I'd go back is if I have bottle service. It's Fulton market and everything is expensive around there for the most part, so just understand that you'll be dropping some dollars in here. read more

I have never written a review and before last night I would have given it 4+ stars, but after last night my impression of this place has soured. I have frequented this bar for years now and have never had such a negative experience. I had my property (a pair of Airpods that fell out of my purse) snatched by a short female bathroom attendant/bouncer with most of her face covered who then refused to give it back, and then decided she would kick us out because I snatched it back. She followed us out of the bathroom into the club and proceeded to tell her colleagues to kick us out, no questions asked. I have no idea what I did to bother her so bad other than reclaim my belongings from her. Maybe she was having a bad day because she was the shortest person in there. We tried to explain what happened to another bouncer, she would not let us even get a word in to him and then he spazzed out when we were trying to speak to him, kicking us out into the freezing cold. Your bouncers/security are meant to keep people safe and add to the experience, my friend and I are young women who were only there to dance and drink, we caused no problems and wanted no problems. Your employees make up rules on the spot, expect people to bow to them and get mad when they don't. I am sad to write this review as I said I have been a regular at this place since 2020, constantly bring my friends here who have never been and I have never had such a negative and disorienting experience. I'm not sure I'll be back. read more

This is a cool speakeasy style spot behind a functioning barbershop. The interior decor is rich and in beautiful red, browns and orange tones. The staff were not super friendly but did give me good service. Although it did take a bit of time for my waiter to come back and check on my table. But this wouldn't discourage me from going again. Great music, cool spot. read more

Great vibe, speakeasy behind the white door in the barber shop, very vintage with the cigarette machine and wood paneling. Drinks are pricey. read more

I had low expectations based on most of the prior Yelp reviews, to the point where I didn't even want to go to this place with our group. I can't say I'm all that impressed with the hot heather drink, but the service is friendly and it's not packed at all at 8pm on a Saturday night. Venture at your own risk I guess, but take the prior reviews with a grain of overpriced Himalayan pink salt. read more

Had a great experience here! I think you either need to know someone or have a reservation, idk, I was with a group. I loved that the DJ played all kinds of music and people were actually dancing! It was such a good vibe. While I was amongst the "regulars" on the floor, I'm really curious about how the people who were in the sections managed to get up and down and move about the crowd because the seating is pretty low. No cover here. Couldn't tell you about drinks because it was impossible to get to the bar. Drink before you show up and have a great time. read more

Came from Florida to Chicago and this was the best night i had out in a while. Everyone was actually dancing and the music was amazing. I wish the place was a little bigger but honestly i think it added to the ambiance and the reason why everyone was so comfortable to dance the night away. I definitely will be back! read more

Never a miss Nice music night atmosphere and the drinks are good too! Quality is laid back! Love it here read more

Blind barber is one of my favorite bars in Chicago! It's a speakeasy that's behind a barber shop, which is awesome. The drinks are decent, not amazing, but I just love the vibe. The red lighting is cool, and the DJ is always playing great music. This is a great place to come if you want to have a nice and fun night out dancing with friends, I highly recommend! read more

Little T is the best! ....and the DJ on Saturday night is ...definitely come here if you are hanging in the West Loop!

Its really cool to bring people who are not from Chicago to this place without telling them what it is. That's about it. Its not very big, but def cool to check out at least once. read more

Love it here, great barbershop staff and the best nightlife experience in Chicago right now.

Classy speakeasy with some great jams. We came on a Friday night around 9 and the place was already filling up. Great vibes if you're looking for a cool place to check out with friends! read more

I recommend that the owner should send the bouncer at the door to anger management classes. He was really aggressive and unprofessional, cursing using racist slurs to a WOMAN that wasn't necessary. We called to talk to a manager and the person answer the phone hang up on us.. for future reference they should hire people with better manners.. read more

One star for the ambiance and overall concept A second star for well made cocktails My friends and I came here for a quick drink before headed elsewhere. The bartenders were extremely rude and condescending to us immediately. We moved to the other side of the bar to get better service. The bartender was nice but failed to mention the 20% service charge. One cocktail cost me $20 without tip. The bartenders (especially the rude male with the man bun who worked 01/21/2022) need an attitude check! read more

I thought this was a cool place going in, but we made reservations for three and they sat us a super tiny bar top with three seats facing the wall. Asked if there was any tables available, she said no. First, we thought ok whatever that's fine, but I noticed that about 15 minutes later, a party of 2 was seated at an actual table that was open when we got there. The bar top on the wall should not seat more than 2 as we basically had to put our drinks and food in our laps. Music was blaring super loud on a Wednesday night of all nights, so conversation was difficult to have. Plus, the entire food menu wasn't available. read more

The bar is really cool in the back but watch out when you buy a drink. They charge a 20% gratuity on their drinks which they do not let you know. When you get the bill they hide the itemized receipt under the merchant receipt so that it harder to notice and you tip them on top of that. So they end up getting a 35/40% tip. It seems a bit dishonest to me. Just let people know up front that there is a gratuity. read more

I think this place is cute great music and had it been 10 -15 years ago I would be ALL IN. A date suggested we go should have known because while it was a diverse crowd it was a young crowd average age 25 (he likes young women go figure) but these chicks were fake drunk screaming women dancing horribly off beat it was annoying af to me. It was super crowded I didn't have any drinks staff was cordial would have gave it an extra star but the crowd sucked to me I would highly recommend for a young person wanting to have a great time though but as for me I left my date and caught an Uber home. I guess I'm an old geezer because the crowd irked me but the place itself and music is cool. read more

This rating is carried by the Blind Barber's entire concept! I love the hidden entrance, throwback decor, and entire vibe! To get to the BB you'll need to cut throw the actual barber shop street store, and go in through the next door with a coat rack hanging over it. This place gets very busy on the weekends, and if you arrive after 9 pm be prepared to stand around with no seats, unless you purchase a reserved spot. The music is LOUD... this is not a place to converse, even though you might think it's a speakeasy - it's not in this aspect. The music is 70's-ish until later at night when the DJ starts. The service was good, and the drinks are underwhelming - but I hear the grilled cheeses are amazing. Good place to visit if you're in a party mood - not really a laid back place for a conversation, but with the impressive concept of this place, you have to visit at least once! read more

I'm so disappointed, our bartender recommended this place but the "barbers " were so rude and I'm from Miami so I don't expect much. I didn't understand the reason of their rudeness so we were pretty disappointed, but we will not judge Chicago on their behalf so the city has been good to us, the "barbers" were not. read more

Blind Barber has the cool vibes--great ambiance, easy drinks, but to be real, it's a bit pricey for what you get. Perfect for tourists wanting that swanky experience, but if I'm splurging, I'd rather hit up a local spot with the same charm. It's a good time, just be ready to drop some $$ for the cool factor. read more

Have you had an eclectic itch? Do you want a diverse crowd, really good music, swanky speakeasy vibez, and to dance and sing your heart out? This is that spot. Nestled in the most gentrified neighborhood in Chicago, this place took me by surprise. It's tucked away and doubles as an actual barbershop by day, speakeasy / cool bar by night. Depending on the night, DJs play a wide variety of music (Reaggaeton, classic House Music (Think Gypsy Woman etc), hip hop, R&B). The crowd is also very eclectic, black, white, Hispanic, LGTBQ, hipster, uppity yuppies, all of it. The drinks are good, with a variety of cocktails and beer selection. The place is a cool speakeasy for most of the night, then they take away the chairs and it becomes more of a divey club. The only draw is that that Saturdays / Fridays it gets a little too crowded once it reaches mass. The line also gets really long and the door guys enforce / tell the whole line to disperse. Definitely get here before 10, then watch it fill up relatively quick. Come here for a cool date or to impress your friends. In a city like Chicago that's high key segregated, this place feels like a refreshing slice of New York (Diversity & Music). Speaking of, they have a blind barber in New York too! read more

GREG was an amazing bartender!!! this place is a VIBEEEEE!! honestly music was on POINT AND the bartenders were amazing!!!

AVOID THIS PLACE. Cool atmosphere, disinterested bar staff, ungodly expensive (even by West Loop standards). As others have mentioned, there's an AUTOMATIC 20% SERVICE CHARGE FOR ORDERING DRINKS AT THE BAR, no matter how large - or small - your order is. They will then proceed to ask if you wish to leave ADDITIONAL tip, from 2%-7% added to that. Ballsy and very tacky considering the attitude of the bar staff. Not sure if the wait staff is as bad since every time I've been there I've been sitting at/ordered directly from the bar, which makes the 20%-plus service charge even more of a joke. Because they realize they haven't overcharged you enough they then tack on $2 PER DRINK for ice in your glass. No kidding, as if the drinks are so good they need no ice (they are not, nor are they a generous pour). Most people probably don't even realize this because of how ridiculous it is. read more

I can only speak to the night time/speak easy/bar. I came in mid august 2022 on a tuesday and heard some outstanding Djs. The vibe was accessible, welcoming and open. Drinks were reasonably priced and it was active but not too busy to where I couldn't enjoy myself comfortably. Can't speak highly enough of the music at the DJs were playing, it was an eclectic selection of outstanding remixes that you couldn't Shazam but with melodies or original songs you recognized in all kinds of genre bending rhythmic music... Yikes. Not a great place. Stood in line for 10 minutes and they decided not to let anyone else in. But everyone that was the bouncers friend or dark colored got in. I live in Chicago and went here with friends for a bday. Suuuper touristy and cramped. Also we paid $65 for 3 espresso martinis that were so sub par... they also automatically charge a 20% service fee ? So watch out for that. It's cool for 5 seconds when you walk through the barber shop but after it was not very fun. Not really worth going read more

I dunno, maybe I'm over the whole speakeasy thing but I thought it was just ok. We were able to get in pretty easily on a Saturday night but finding a table was pretty difficult despite it being relatively empty (you could easily walk from one end to the other without any difficulty.) I primarily drink whiskey based cocktails so I was a little disappointed to see that their menu didn't have too many options, they have a Japanese based whiskey one but it didn't really appeal to me. I ended up getting an old fashioned which was ok, on the sweeter side. As it got relatively busier it was definitely harder to get service. It was fine but I don't know if I would come back right away. read more

I went here with a couple of friends recently and had a fun time. It was a night of heavy rain, but luckily i had a ride there and back. Maybe it's gimmicky, but I kinda liked the uniqueness of walking through an unassuming barbershop and then through a backdoor and into a really cool lounge. Now, it was a weekday and the place was pretty quiet, which was a bit disconcerting for the type of place it is. Still, the drinks were fine and the service was fine. So overall kudos are in order for delivering on the secret lounge experience. Maybe next time of the weather is more favorable, there'll be a bit more of an ambiance. Looking forward to my next visit and bringing some friends or family here. read more

Very cool spot that I have been hearing about for the past 1.5 years and it did not disappoint this past Friday night. The place is basically a barbershop that has a very lively backroom for socializing. Me and my 2 friends got here around 8:30 which is good as there was a nice crowd but not unbearable. Its gets really packed after 9pm FYI so plan accordingly if you don't wanna end up waiting in a long ass line outside. Nice space as it can fit a good amount of people. There is seating available but I think you have to reserve as most of the tables had the "reserved" sign on them. We posted up at the bar and got a couple of good old fashioned cocktails. Worked up an appetite so we then got some crispy chicken sliders which were very good...sweet potato hummus was very good as well. Music was good as it was mainly hip hop joints from the last couple decades up to present day tunes. I would definitely come back here for another cocktail or 2, but not sure I would get a haircut here as it seems pretty expensive. read more

AUTOMATIC 20% SERVICE CHARGE FOR ORDERING DRINKS AT THE BAR. CHECK YOUR BILL. Could understand if it's a large group at a table getting served but not when you are one person ordering drinks while standing up at the bar. The problem isn't the 20% tip. The problem is how tacky it is to assume your customers will not tip. Especially when you are singling out certain customers with the automatic service fee and not requiring it of others. read more

Myself and 4 other persons went to have drinks after dinner and purchased a round of shots, $100 bill ultimately. When the person buying asked what to do when presented with the device to pay, they would not let it out of their hand as he reached for it and said people leave with the devices and just sign it, so he did. Then we went to order another round of shots and were ignored and as we continued to try to get the bar tenders attention, we we advised they would not serve us because we did not leave a tip. We were about to order another round of shots and Im sure would have had many more drinks after and definitely would have tipped as we always tip very well, but there was a miscommunication when not able to clearly look at the device and told to just sign and we had plenty of time to still tip as we were not done buying drinks. Of course after this we left and went to spend our money and tip at another bar, Kashmir, instead but you treated us horribly and went about the situation wrong. Please consider a customer service class for your bar tenders. read more

I love finding secluded spots in the city! I heard this place gets pretty busy on the weekends, but we went on a Tuesday to celebrate a friends bday and we practically had the whole place to ourselves. Unless you know about this spot you'll never find it. Lol. You actually have to enter the barber shop and then walk through the unmarked door once inside. I love the vibe! Music was great! I didn't partake in any drinks, but the #4 grilled cheese sandwich with the mushroom and truffle oil was pretty decent. I would def go back for a cocktail or 2. :) read more

As they say, Keep It Simple Stupid, here ya go. As a publicist had a list of seven spots to go to on a Saturday night, a friend from the scene in Miami recommended we check this place out. We went to Bandit (thanks Big Stupid) which was packed and my peeps got FIVE rounds comped, then popped by Joy District (yo Big Carl) which was insane, checked out the Hoxton Hotel which was too chill for us, but nice, then stopped by Blind Barber around 1:45 PM and we got denied at the door - um - big mistake doorman - big mistake - calls will be made - you f'd up bro - BIG TIME!, then Darling (EP is the man) which was super chill, did a driveby Per.So.Na which was closing down then ended up at Tao (Big Don and crew - thanks for awesome respect and hospitality) to close them down at 5:00 AM. Lesson learned - don't judge a book by the cover. Don't bother with this place - must be a place for posers and losers - thanks for saving us our time and dignity as we won't be spending $$ at your venue. read more
