I've been coming to this barbershop since 2015 and even made it a point to come here when I was traveling to other states for work. I've had my haircut at a few different places and they all pale in comparison to the quality of this shop. Doug is my barber but I have had my hair cut by everyone and have never had a bad haircut. Everyone has been professional, friendly, the shop is clean, and they go above and beyond with all their services. The shop is cash only and you need to reserve a spot online with their Resuva booking tool. I've been to a few spots in Chicago and I could tell the barbers here were much better than anywhere I've been for the same price. In the 9 years I've been here, I also haven't seen a barber leave, which speaks to the dedication of these guys to create an atmosphere that's welcoming and keeps customers coming back to them. Setup my appointment a week in advance on their online booking portal (they are very busy, so I would advise scheduling well in advance). Walked in right at my appointment time and sat right down. Will cut my hair and did an excellent job. Very high quality and I could tell he took his time to make sure everything looked good. I had been going to Belmont Barbershop for years as it is around the corner from where I live. It had been getting more and more difficult to get an appointment after their write up in GQ and my man Travis was often booked two weeks in advance. A great problem to have as the barber, but difficult to work into a busy schedule for the client. I work in the West Loop and walked past Handcrafted in January and looked it up. I was pumped to see that Travis had joined Issac on this new endeavor. I get the same experience I had while up at Belmont, which is, in one word, excellent.
