Today David was super nice and made me a great vegetarian sandwich after suggesting some creative options to meet my non-meat eating needs.

I love coming here and getting a good deal on a good sandwich. The owner is a fun guy and is always a pleasure to talk to.

We moved to Star from out of state two years ago. We had read about Uncle Guiseppe's and wanted to…read moretry it, but hadn't gotten around to it yet. Today, our friend brought us to Garden City to walk along the river, and then over to Uncle Guiseppe's for lunch. It is a small, seemingly authentic New York deli that serves a great number of different sandwiches, along with specialty drinks, like sodas, sparkling water, and lemonade. They also well things like pastries and, of interest to us, jarred roasted tomatoes. My wife had the #9 Monte Cristo, and I had the #3 Bonanza. Delicious. I also had a Manhattan Special Black Cherry soda, also super yummy. My mistake, not realizing what I was doing, was to order "whole" vs "half" sandwiches. The whole are footlong. I ate the entire sandwich, holy moly! My wife brought half home. Next time I would probably order a half. The owner, who I will call Guiseppe, had the heavy East Coast accent, and checked on all of his customers, making sure they were happy and satisfied. This place is a little gem. We're already talking about our next visit to Garden City to walk and have lunch at Uncle Guiseppe's!

The cold cuts here are all delicious, highest quality, and with it owner Jimmy makes incredible sandwiches. He also carries Taylor Pork Roll, which is a perfect breakfast treat for those from Jersey. Jimmy is a typical New Yorker and loves to make his customers feel at home. So, enjoy!

On a road trip with my son from AZ to WA and we stopped at Boise on the 2nd night. We had a…read moreshorter drive to Lewiston the 3rd day so we decided to check out downtown Boise and have lunch before we left. Using Yelp, we found Matlack's Public House Beergarten and liked the look of their sandwiches. We arrived 15min before they opened and wandered around a bit before heading back. The hostess/waitress took us in and thanked us for coming back (she must have watched us try to get in earlier). We got to pick our table in the dining area. The interior is smaller but very clean and classy. The only thing I didn't like were the chairs as they were benches and stools with no back support. I ordered the Santa Maria Tri-tip sandwich and an iced tea. My son also got the same sandwich. Their sandwiches all come with Fritos unless you're looking to spend more for a salad, mac & cheese or chili. This was the best sandwich I've had in years! The baguette had a little crunch on the outside but soft on the inside. The tri-tip was hickory and apple smoked and was tender and delicious. The chimichurri was a perfect accompaniment, as were the roasted poblano peppers. I also enjoyed the Fritos as the side. We also received top-notch service from the waitress. You could tell this place puts a lot of love and effort into their food and service. Thanks Matlack's for a great meal before our next leg of our journey!

We were staying across the street and decided to check this place out - checked out their menu…read moreonline and saw Mac n Cheese and I LOVE a good mac & cheese so went in hoping that they didn't have egg in their macaroni. Good news, THEY DIDN'T! Pub-type atmosphere, lots of beer on tap. I can't remember which I ordered, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered the Mac n Cheese without the breadcrumbs and the hubs ordered it and added bacon. It was creamy and yummy. I ended out taking some of my back to the room. It reheated well, so made for an excellent midnight(ish) snack! The place wasn't too busy when we were there, the bartender was also our waiter. He was polite and helpful. The table/chairs were clean and people looked like locals (which is always comforting when you randomly pick a spot). There's indoor and outdoor seating. I didn't see a lot of parking. I hear it's a busy place on Friday and Saturday evenings. We were pleased with our restaurant choice that afternoon. Thank you for reading my review!
