Was charged $761.66 for diagnosis for our water not working, to say we need $4000. for a well pump. We are seniors & told them we didn't have $4000. So we called "Johnny's Hardware" they came out within a hour & diagnosed it in a hour & said would be $1550, no service charge from Johnny'!! I highly recommend this company.. I have had nothing but very professional installations at my home by their employees. I am talking about Blessings and Plumbing, Grand Blanc, Mi. I don't know if some of these other reviews are other companies or what, but never had those type of experiences. Recently had my home A/C system upgraded, and it was done in a day. Top notch. I called a month prior to schedule a furnace cleaning and inspection of a new house we were purchasing. I told them at the initial call, that since the furnace and air were 20 years old, I also wanted a quote on a new system. When the technician arrived, they said they don't do quotes, you'd have to make another appointment. When I did get a "sales" rep in, the quote was double that of any of the three others I got. There were some differences in efficiency and seer rating, but not enough to justify the difference. Outrageous and don't listen. Stay away! read more

I really appreciated this company when I had to replace my furnace and air conditioning. The sales rep and I sat down and reviewed his first proposal. It was a middle of the road unit. I wanted the best so without being pushed I got the best unit available and a price I expected. Now my home is very comfortable in winter and summer and I've spent less this year on electric and gas than I have since I lived here. The installers were great and cleaned everything up when done. This company should be ashamed of themselves. They ripped off my elderly parents who needed a simple garbage disposal installed. My father, a retired tradesman, had already disconnected the old disposal completely, but was having difficulty installing the new disposal because of the weight. It took the technician 25 minutes to install the new disposal at a charge of $409.27. This is an outrageous price to charge for the install of a disposal and amounts rate of over $800 / hr. I am not aware of any tradesmen who would charge this rate. I have been through multiple major house remodels and have never seen a charge as outrageous as this. Stay clear of this company. Believe all of the other reviews which caution against being ripped off by this company. In my experience, the highest price does not always equal the highest quality. read more

This company is an absolute disgrace. they charged my senior citizen mother and my elderly disabled father who is in a wheelchair $432 to install a bathroom sink faucet. We already had the faucet in hand and this was less than 10 minute job. I have been ripped off twice by this company. As a lone senior who has had some plumbing emergencies, I feel I was completely taken advantage of. The latest was a Saturday evening about 9pm when I found my sump pump was not working and the water was just below the drains and sump well. Trying to find anyone to come on weekends and late is very difficult. Blessing was one of the few and I knew I would be paying a bit more than average. However, the total I was told by the tech was $99 for the visit (not terrible) but $800 for the sump pump and installation! I asked if the pump was made of gold! I found another plumbing service which came out directly and the full charge was $575. It was still a little high but nothing like the $900 Blessing was going to charge. I believe the most I have ever been charged to this point for this service is $450. As far as I am concerned, Blessing is engaged in price gouging. Shame on Blessing! read more

So far so good with this company. They sent someone out to look at our intermittent furnace issues. It was 45 to come out and 90 for the work he did, which did fix the issue but we knew it was time for a new furnace anyway, was going on 20 years. So in their estimate they actually refunded me the $135 from the previous visit! And they know their stuff. They are priced where any other professional company that has to be licensed and pull permits would be. Stop complaining it's expensive. Quality home repair is always expensive. read more

I have used Blessing for many years, and while they can be more expensive than other companies, there are very good reasons for this, which actually make sense once you know about them. It's kind of like airlines - Blessing is American Airlines, and the other guys are Spirit. Blessing has a higher initial price, because all of the parts and fees are included. So they may not be the cheapest estimate in the beginning, but once it's all said and done, they're competitive. Plus, they're friendly, and clean! The technician who came to my house was incredibly knowledgeable and fair, and very sweet with my very nosy dog. One person mentioned going with Lowe's for cheaper - while Lowe's will sell you the water heater and install it, they don't pay for the necessary permits. (The local permit means that the township/county plumbing inspector, an independent third party, comes and inspects the work for safety after it's installed.) You know all those stories about water heaters exploding and such? Safety inspections are designed to prevent that. Plus, you know, I'm pretty sure there could be fines if the township finds out you hired work like that done and didn't get the proper permit. I use Blessing for all my plumbing stuff now! read more

I just used the company-my hot water tank took a dive. I was nervous, and looked online to see plumbers in the area. This company had good reviews-so I gave it a shot. The service tech's where very nice and very professional. They started out with a quick and painless fix, and gave me all options. I knew somewhat about hot water tanks-since I was married to a plumber. And the easy fix was my problem; although he did mention my tank was approaching it's due date and to be prepared. He quoted me for my new tank when I need a new one. I didn't feel pressured or feel like I was getting bullsh*ted. I'm very happy. Even when I initially called and asked the reseptionist what was wrong-she was even knowledgable. No one likes unexpected costs, and is never happy about the outcome-but it is what it is, and sometimes prices may be higher....but you pay for what you get. Can't be cheap when it comes to major home repairs. read more

Would be amazing to get a return phone call when this company told me several times I would. Oh and my appointment was for 11am-1pm.......1:38pm still nobody at my house and not a single phone call. I didn't realize communication was such a hard task. Then when the service guy finally shows up he states he can't even do the job today because its a two man job and doesn't have the supplies. Wait....let me get this straight.....two man job to replace a shower mixer? Doesn't have the parts......its all PEX....no copper to deal with. Drive your butt to Home Depot and get the parts. Then to top it off you want $1511 to change out a shower mixer that has ZERO copper lines....all PEX with existing female threaded fittings and shark bite/push-to-connect. Give me a break! Its a shower mixer...not launching a rocket ship into outer space. Oh ya....get this......then he wanted to charge me $212 to put a spring loaded access panel door behind the shower for future access WHICH I ALREADY HAVE!!! Said it was for the labor to cut out the drywall.....man I must be in the wrong business...If I can get paid $212 for cutting out a 14"x21" square hole in drywall and literally push in a spring loaded access panel.....you all hiring cause that is some easy work for some premium pay. Sign me up....where do I send my resume? What really sucks is that I am building a new house (4100 sq ft) that I was planning to hire this company for all of the plumbing work as well as the HVAC.......ya, not now. I am embarrassed to say I was completely ripped off by this company. I would give negative stars if I could. Our sump drain line coming from the house was leaking out through the ground by the front of our house so I called Blessing to see if they could repair it. They charged $45 just to come out and see it. He gave an estimate of $847 to fix it. The job was scheduled for the next day. They got here, dug out and cut out a scrub, dug a hole about 2 feet wide by 2 feet deep and discovered that the problem was in the line that went from the PVC to the storm drain, a plastic corrugated pipe and they said they couldn't fix it. We needed to call an excavation company. They still charged me $800 because they had done the "hand excavation". Oh and they put a $5.00 back flow valve on the sump line. So 2 guys took an hour to dig a small hole, then told me they couldn't fix the problem and charged me $800. Do not use these crooks! read more

If you want to get gouged, Blessing plumbing is for you! I called them about a small plumbing job. They said it would cost me $55 for them to come out to give me an estimate. I had every intention of giving them the job until I heard the estimate. He says $364, I told him that was crazy. I paid him the $55, went over to Johnny's hardware, spent $18 on parts and materials, and did the job myself. The job took one and one half hours and I'm not a plumber. The huge downside was for the replacement part needed for repairs, I was charged $333.00. Looking up the same part on internet sites, I could have purchased (if I had only known) for $115.00. They have this "standard fees" book where they try to make it seem that their going to always charge a reasonable and consistent amount for a job, however, when someone does a job in 30 minutes and installs a $8.97 part, you have to wonder how that really computes to $367. Even as a professional accountant, I can't pull 700+ per hour. They want to charge you $45 to come out and give outrageous estimates and that charge does NOT get absorbed into the work. This my second review in a year for this company. My first review was a year ago when the technician just installed a new Carier furnace. The new furnace is quite different than the old one.You need to get used to the operation system of the unit. Looking at the gas and electrical bill, we are paying less this year while keeping the house warmer. I brought my concerns to the company a few times in the beginning, the ladies on the phone were very patient listening to my concerns, and the technicians were very helpful checking the furnace a few times. The state has not inspected the furnace, yet although John, the superior supervisor, sent a few emails to the state inspector. It is not new news, the state needs to fix the Flint water crisis, Detroit schools, and the Michigan roads before it inspects the furnaces. read more

Stay away!! Absolutely terrible company to work with... They hire lazy contractors who did not use sealant on the grout, so after completing our bathroom we started getting mold after a year and in some places the grout started falling out. They seemed to have some communication issues with their contractors and do not follow up on their work! Because it was not within their time of guarantee they would not correct it and left me having to repair myself or hire someone else to do it. They tried to blame it on the water quality but we have a whole house charcoal filter. read more

NIGHTMARE! I am the first to admit I know NOTHING about plumbing, so when my basement started filling up with sewage I called anywhere I could find open past five and that's how I stumbled upon Blessing. I thought I had really lucked out the plumber arrived fairly fast was super friendly and seeming helpful. He told us that our septic was full and we needed to call someone to pump it and tonight. So we did as advised and when he arrived he told us as he's making small talk with my husband that there is no way that is what is filling our basement and to call a plumber. Foolishly brushing this off and thinking we had called someone that knows what there talking about more than the septic (porta potta cleaning guy) . At 10pm I turned off our second pump because all of the water was removed. At 2:30am I woke up to let our puppy out and decided to check the basement. Well it was up at least 4/5 inch higher that it was before, we have NO idea what the problem is, and are out $140plumber and $270 septic read more
