Fortunately it hasn't been terribly hot. After determining the problem is most likely our thermostat, he said he would send someone out to replace the thermostat in an hour to an hour and a half. I was put in touch with the owner of Big Ben Enterprises through our home inspector 4+ years ago. Since that time Rob has revamped my heating and cooling system from the ground up, installed 4 additional electric panels, a second water heater, installed a whole house back-up generator, replaced my well motor, installed a radon mitigation system, a synthetic deck and helped plant some large tress to boot. As you can see from the list above they do a lot - from simple HVAC inspections to full geothermal installations to helping with other project around the house. If you have some HVAC issues, are considering geothermal or need a whole house generator installed for a fair price they are the team to contact. Honest and reliable and fairly priced. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT, use this company for anything. We had a randon fan installed on 7/11/18, the fan was faulty and stopped working 5 months later. They did come out to replace the fan but tried to charge us $90, we were never told of this charge until after the fix. We were never given a statement until 1/7/19 for the $90. On 1/14/19 Rob admitted to coming to our house in the middle of the night (trespassing) and cutting the fan off and leaving the defected fan laying on the ground, we have video of this happening. Live exposed wires were left outside as well. A police report was filed and we are now taking Big Ben Enterprises to court, not only for the defected fan (which has a 2 year warranty on it, according to the manufacturer) but for the new fan we replaced. How about standing behind the work you do? Didn't have the nerve to come to my house during the day, had to sneak around at night, real man!! read more

Through Yelp, I discovered Rob and team when I needed a new generator installed. They were quick to respond and a pleasure to work with. We had this company out 3 separate times, with 6 different people. Not one of them had any idea how to work on the unit we had yet claimed they did. They communicated with other techs by phone to try to fix our heater. Everytime they left they claimed it was working but to only stop working within 5 minutes of them leaving. They would come late hours even though we did not request it and charged us after hours pricing. They replaced parts that did not need to be replaced multiple times. Finally, we stopped them from coming back and hired a new company. Bullock heating and cooling in Capac, MI. They had the unit working in under 15 minutes without replacing any parts and it has been working fine for weeks. If you need anyone please let me recommended Bullock but DO NOT use this big Ben. They will claim they can fix it and just charge you for service call after service call and unnecessary parts. Even when the owner was contacted he claimed he was sending out "the young ones" but never once offered to come out himself. read more
