Passalinqua's Pizzeria GOOD: cheese and toppings are…read moreflavorful, fair prices if you avoid premium pies BAD: wet noodle crust and store logistics - line back ups, no paper receipts offered I wanted to like PP as most of the reviews were glowing. The toppings and cheese were flavorful (can't go wrong with a greasy meat meat combo). The price is reasonable on a per size and per topping basis. Unfortunately, a good stiff crust is nearly half of quality pizza. The middle-bottom portion sags immediately and you need two steady hands to catch the toppings. Aside from the crust, there is one register and operator, so on a busy take out night, one chatty customer phone call handcuffs the entire takeout operation. They need two registers to alleviate the take out pressure in case of a phone order (or write the phone order and allow someone else to process take out orders). Finally, I was forced to take a email or text receipt. Basic business operation should consist of offering a paper receipt. Older folks, buying for someone else, expensing meals all work better with paper receipts. I only hope their printer was broken. If your local, give them a try, but it's probably not worth a long drive East.

We ordered two large pizzas and it was more than enough to feed the whole crew. The service was top notch--friendly, fast, and they made us feel welcome even though we were out-of-towners. Pizza is solid. Have had the Italian Wedding and the Eric B. Italian Wedding truly tastes like…read morewedding soup- meatballs are great, and the sauce has a garlic butter broth-like flavor. The Eric B. had a good mixture of toppings- I particularly enjoy the cup and char pep. They also have a nice shaker full of garlic and oregano for their pies. Antipasto salad is solid as well. The only complaint would be that the center of the crust does have a lot of flop. Not quite as much structural integrity as I'd enjoy throughout the full crust, but nonetheless, the outside edge has a nice crisp chew. Overall - very solid, will continue to order when the craving is there.

Colony Pizza GOOD: Meat pizza toppings were flavorful…read moreBAD: Crust and value for price (too high for quantity) Staff is friendly. Colony pizza has a diverse menu that I would give another try. Locals seem to love this place, but I found the pizza very average. The toppings were very good - greasy meats, can't go wrong. I like a nice crispy crust that can support the toppings. Their crust is very soft and chewy. Every slice needs a steady two hands as the crust falls like a limp noodle with any weight. It may sound picky to some, but a good crust really goes a long way and a good, crispy crust that holds toppings well makes for the tasty mix of texture. Also 19 bucks is steep for a 12 inch pie, even with some meats.

In response to Milen D's recent review of Firestones(which I witnessed)…read more I honestly can't decide what's more embarrassing: your experience at the restaurant or the fact that you thought this review was worth posting. You apparently walked in expecting the entire establishment to revolve around your very specific demands, got disappointed, called someone a "clown," accused them of lying, and then produced this barely decipherable masterpiece of nonsense. The staff didn't fail you--you failed to understand where you were, what they offered, and apparently how restaurants work. And judging by the grammar and coherence of this review, I'm not sure you were in any condition to be evaluating anyone else's performance. Being unhappy with a meal is one thing. Throwing a tantrum because a restaurant didn't conform to whatever bizarre expectations you had in your head is another. Do everyone a favor next time: stay home, lower your expectations, and let the adults enjoy their dinner without having to witness another episode of The World's Most Confused Customer. The restaurant got one bad review. You got permanently immortalized as the person who wrote it. I'd say one of those is considerably harder to recover from.

Hit up Mi Scuzi for the first time since they moved to the mall for my partners birthday dinner…read more We got an incredible little Tuscan loaf of bread with two very good spreads. An artichoke and cheese spread which was tasty, cheesey, warm and near perfect. As well as a fig mascarpone spread that might be worth more than gold per ounce. Sweet and creamy. So fricken good. I went with the tour of Sorrento All three sauces were distinctly varied and all three very much to my liking The basil Alfredo sauce being my personal favorite. Both red sauces had a level of heat that were perfect for the sampler I received. Ravioli Arancini And the stuffed pepper were all near perfect. Our bartender was attentive, polite, and competent. If I have criticisms- It's busy. It's Christmas time - at the mall. So I get it. But the tables here are more on top of each other and the bar area then they were at the old location. I think less clunky chairs would make it feel a bit more light, airy, open and less crowded. The other thing I would like to see a bit different is how reservations work. We walked in at 6:00 and the hostess asked if we had a reservation We did not She acted like -oh this might be terrible- we might not have a seat for you- so you think you can sit at the bar? Actually we prefer to sit at the bar - Better for people watching and hearing all the gossip - so it was not an issue for us at all. The issue is we sat at the bar for an hour... and all around us tables sat empty. One of the things I enjoyed about going out to eat in Europe is when you walked in- they would say - we can seat you- but we will need that table by X time. To get it ready for the next reservation. They had us sat and beveraged in 3 minutes. Fat, happy, and ready for bed less than an hour after walking in the door. The experience was very very good in my opinion. A bit pricey 120 for 1 glass of wine, 2 beers, an app, and 2 right sized portions of excellent food and tip - but less than you'd spend in most other cities. It's efficient and very very good. A bit more finesse and it would be incredible. And sorry - I start eating and then remember - oh I'm a famous food critic- I should take a picture of this before it's gone... And I'm a terrible photographer for a decent artist.
